Who is this man child Giancarlo? CFO? And owner?

Quote
"I carefully checked your position and I believe your loss was due to you clicking multiple times on the "close button" position when our trading engine experienced a lag.

As you were aware that the system was lagging you should not have done this and the fact that you blame your misbehavior on us can't be accepted as a valid cause for a reimbursement."

This is abominable. Fucked up beyond words and reason.

This mind boggling incompetence must be criminal for a large financial services exchange. Even in HK.

"You clicked this button which did something else than than it said on the label. Too bad. Fuck you."

Who do you sue when Bitfinex loses your money? Do you even know? No!

Which makes this particular brand of shit sandwich look (and smell) as bad (or worse) than anything served by Mt.Gox.

Up to the point where they Mt.Gox went out of business.

Bitfinex is run by incompetent clowns who don't understand their own malfunctioning code, because... they stole it.

Shitfinex is a clusterfuck.

Get out. Get out.

Get out.

I know this is a venting thread as much as anything, but I don't see what harm it would do to make an official complaint about Bitfinex to their licencing authorities, about unfair trading practices.

As you probably know, Bitifinex is operated by a Hong Kong company, Renrenbee Limited, which is in turn owned by a company registered in that hotbed of probity, the British Virgin Islands, iFinex Ltd.
Hell would freeze over before you'd get anything out of the BVI system, but Renrenbee Limited is the holder of the licence for Money Services Operation in Hong Kong, number 13-09-01265.
The HK Customs and Excise Department have a process for complaints accessible here, why not give Giancarlo some heat?

Wow, just read the thread. I won't be using bitfinex anymore. Not because of the bug, but because of the sheer ignorance this Giovanni clown is treating you as a customer.

If the button states "close order", there is no way justifying the creation of a new order, and there is even less of a way claiming you, OP, being at fault in any way, because you don't know in what situations the developers failed in coding, creating buggy behavior of the system.
That's just ridiculous, and the only right decision would be a full reimbursement. Not some shitty 36% bullshit, I'm talking about 100%, including the profits of the first, intended close order.

In the world I live in, there is no way a customer could be treated like that. Big shame on you, bitfinex, big shame.
