Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I'm running wallet opet for last 40 hours - not one stake yet It can be because of several things. If you deposited a larger amount at once it can take time to stake, or if you have only a smaller amount your net weight can be low. Give it time.

If you deposit large volumes of vanillacoin in one time will that stake more than small deposits? Or if you deposit more you get more stakes? And do you need more connections to stake more? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance Larger holdings deposited in smaller increments (like 500-1000s) tend to stake more. POS has it's own difficulty just like POW does here, also POS competes with blocks versus POW. The larger your holding is, the more chances are there that you will generate POS blocks and thus take away POW blocks. Number of connections shouldn't be relevant.

Give it time. my 5 cents, where can i see that net weight or probability estimates ? Net weight and probability are not shown in the wallet, there is no need for that since they are estimates anyway and the POS is low on VNL (0.7%). It would matter more with the current high POS coins where you actually earn your $ with staking instead of mining. I'll ask John though if he plans to implement it in the future.

Is there a reason why there is only always 2 or 3 connections in the client? Is there checkpointing or does this have other reasons? Thank you and best of luck in the future with this!

Is there a reason why there is only always 2 or 3 connections in the client? Is there checkpointing or does this have other reasons? Thank you and best of luck in the future with this! Yes. John made the commit on github a month ago or so. Only 3 connections are required for mobile, desktop wallet, or server daemon to maintain sync. This was done in order to reduce the bandwidth and power needed for mobile staking. If you open your port, you will get more connections. Go into your config.dat to find out what port Vanillacoin is using.

I intend to buy a AMD Radeon r9 280x for mining vanilla coin. I look for a tutorial that explains how to mining vanilla and how optimized the AMD Radeon r9 280x for 400 Mh / s
Just download Smolen's miner and run it. I wouldn't advise to buy a GPU just now for mining Vanillacoins (or anything else) though, since block rewards dropped to 88 and FPGA's are just around the corner which will be far better in terms of energy efficiency. But if you plan on buying a good GPU anyway for gaming and etc., go on. I don't agree, you can find good used R9 280x for funny prices and FPGA miners wont kill GPU mining in terms of hash. The real advantage of FPGA's is in low power consumption which means almost nothing if someone wants to mine with 1 or 2 cards from gamer PC when PC isn't in the gaming purpose use and specialy if someone else is paying electricity bills While the FPGA advantage is mainly power consumption I picked the whirlpool hash function because it runs about 10-50 times faster on hardware than other hash functions. That said, the move to FPGA's will be a huge leap forward in terms of hash output vs GPU devices. Thank you for your support.

That violates the most basic requirement (in my opinion) for every coin. That is, to be mineable by everyone with a computer. But I don't expect from you to understand this You proved before, that you are a great developer but you don't think too much of the morals of your creations.
