Do you have bitcoins besides that already? If BTC4.5 means less than 20% of your total investments I'd say go for it! Otherwise you have to further analyze the risk.

If you're only willing to wait a year before you give up on an investment, bitcoin may not be ideal for you. It's more of a 5+ year game here for now.

Only invest what you can afford to lose. I am a firm believer in the future of bitcoin, but prudence is important with any investment.

For clarification I meant 20% of your total investments including fiat, not 20% of your bitcoin holdings.
If I were you I'd convert your bonds to BTC if 4.2+4.5 is less than 20-30% of your total investments including fiat.

I'd say, it depends on what you expect of your premium bonds.
If you don't think, they will raise at all or just a little, I would go for BTC.

Wise advice here, we're still in the very early days.

Can´t say what you should do with your premium bonds, but you definitely shouldn´t put a single penny into Bitcoin. (If you love money)

Premium bonds are an utterly rotten 'investment'. I don't get why people bother with them. Depends how disposable that money is to you. There are lots of other more dependable possibilities if you've an appetite for a bit of risk.

I went into a stocks and shares ISA at the same time as BTC in 2013. The ISA is up 50% now.
