it is not a good deal.  Minimum 100 order with no recourse for low specs is making me gun shy.

I would suggest a few good demos of the gear are more important then doing a group buy.

A) prisma had fire issues.
B) spondolllies sp20 was a 1200gh good efficiency miner 1400 so so   and 1600 power burner.

C) if these chips scale like the sp20 running them at 1400gh and 40 mhs may be the realistic number.

I would hate for a lot of us buying and hoping for 1700gh and 50mhs and having to settle for a lot less.

remember  gridseeds never did dual mining well.

So I do urge some verified demos reviews etc

 I have seen many bad mining gear.  Under spec slow delivery .  I would hate for a lot of us to buy 100 or 200 in a pre order and not like the gear.

We now have a newbie calling me a beggar.  So I ask why? 
 If the gear runs well send out some review units. I don't see any posts from the company. I see a puppet dissing me.  Why?

Well if it makes $8/day now most likely it will be $8 X 60 or 90 days which has been the norm for the last few products.

It will cost between $480 - $720, so likely somewhere in between.

I'd expect more.

Sounds about right, if not a bit more. Shipping will be different between the two as the S5 weighs 3.4kg boxed, and this looks about the same (if not more) than a Rockminer T1 which was about 13kg.

Anyway, it would be good to see Sfards do the same thing that SPTech did with the SP20, sending out review samples(and having them come back mostly positive) really helped their sales, I think.  It definitely swayed my purchase decision since I knew that multiple people on the forum whose opinions I trusted gave them their stamp of approval.  Hell, I'd review one but I'm not a Legendary, or even a Hero.

My fairly cynical view is that they'll try and charge what they think they can get. I don't expect that customer ROI or time frames will matter one bit. At the present time, they have only Bitmain as competition with the S5. Yes they have to worry a bit about the long fabled, completely unspecified and unpriced S7, but that's it. It's easy to adjust a price downwards later if needed. Unless and until Bitmain has a definite product with a delivery date, specifications, and a price, they can just wait. We are also assuming that they are free to produce at whatever rate they want. They may well have bought the number of chips for N miners, and then they would have to wait for another slot at TSMC (or whoever) for more, or pay more to get them "rushed".

I don't mean to be a Negative Nancy, but assuming SFARDS is in the business to make money, I'll bet their CFO thinks more like I do, than what folks might think of in terms of BTC price, difficulty and ROi.

Just heard back from SFards. Doesn't look like they are doing any demo or evaluation units at this time, unfortunately. They are doing MOQ 100 for the initial sales run due to limited quantity, and have not yet established shipping date or price.
