Maybe I can be there, not sure yet.

Which hour?

Saturday is the street-sale on St-Laurent, so if you're coming by car, plan to park on the adjacent streets.  There will be a lot of street activity around for those that want to linger later on.

The address is 3485 blv St-Laurent (corner of Milton and St-Laurent). Let's meet on the second floor.

I'll plan for food and drinks.

Welcome all and bring anyone interested in Bitcoins!

Reminder

This afternoon, as of 2:00pm, the door will be open for Bitcoiners at

3485 blv St-Laurent, 2nd Floor.

There will be space (perhaps still somewhat messy), wifi, drinks, food, and all the street-sale activities.

Come if you are a Bitcoiner, come if you are currious about Bitcoins!

I will open up a new thread in project development sub forum, so we can discuss different ideas for what to do with this unbelievably cool space.

as was said, the best way to store bitcoin is on paper.
please make sure you secure your bitcoins saving this way

https://www.bitaddress.org/  <- BTC paper wallet generator
http://liteaddress.org/          <- LTC paper wallet generator

please use the following steps

go to the website click "save page as" in your browser's file menu
save the html page to a usb device
remove the internet wire to your computer
re-boot your computer with a live linux CD
plug in your usb and load the html page you saved
generate your paper wallet and print it out
then send the bitcons or litecoins to the paper wallets
DONE!

this is the paranoid way to create secure paper wallets.
I recommend booting with a live linux CD because this way their is 0 chance some malware or keylogger could see & steal the paper wallets you generate
if you don't know how to burn a Live Linux ISO on a CD and then boot from that...

unplug your internet, generate your paper wallets, print, and then reboot b4 for connecting to the net again. ( this is probably sufficient )

there are many options to securing your coins, this is the way i do it...

barin wallet is another very secure way. ( if done properly, with a strong password  )

also see http://www.piperwallet.com/ for a supper easy way to create paper wallets.

Your kid was cool, especially the fight with the dog  Grin

Montrealers should know that the space available is absolutely awesome and has some crazy potential. Many thanks to Jake Hobson, we'll be sure to make Montréal the Bitcoin capital. If you're living in the Québec province, we need you  Smiley

By the way, we need to do a "what to do with that space" meet-up.

So when you guys want to do the next meetup?
The other guys working at the catalog are also very interested to help us. I will also make a call on Bitcoin-Québec facebook page, they are quite a lot.

maybe we should take some time to clear out the space,
setup a better table / seating agement.
setup the sound system.
setup a live bitcoin price ticketer on a screen that we mount up on a wall
and then have a big party.

If Jake agrees,
Next meetup will be June 22th - Next Saturday

I think our goal should be to setup the 2 second floor  ( sound system, live BTC/CAD exchange rate ticker, move all the junk out of sight ) . that shouldn't take too long ( i'd like to get their early myself,  so i can get the heavy lifting out of the way ), after that we can put on some music, crack open a few beers and discuss what the next step should be.

June 22nd is great for me, from any time onwards.

The building will be open to our community -- all the time -- once we are tad more organized, hence our need to set-up the spaces and establish "key-holding" responsibilities asap.
