LTC Address limit

Newb question but what is the limit on the addresses you can generate in the LTC client?

I imagine that it has to be a finite amount and whatever that amount is couldn't a client be compiled that was tasked with creating addresses automatically and as fast as it can.

There is no limit (in practice).

Regarding generating addresses fast, see vanitygen (yes, it works with Litecoin, too).
