what was your temperature there with NO AC?
The concrete block construction of the garage helps it from heating up. I leave the garage door cracked which faces the ocean. The wind almost always blows northeast which will blow right through the garage. Temperatures would range from 85-101.5 F. When, I am home I usually have the entrance to the garage open which will create a wind tunnel and works very well to remove the heat. Upstairs, is a whole different story. Usually, when I get home from work it is in the 85-88 range with warm days in the 95+ range. Keep in mind that is with little moving air as I only have two windows per side of the house. It is pretty much torture in the summer, which lasts the majority of the year around here.
