I would sell all my bitcoins if someone absolutely made me. There is no other way I would be selling ALL of my coins. Whether the price dropped to nothing, or skyrocketed to 10,000 I think I would always have a couple leftover coins for some rainy days.

We urgently need money ...
How does this have anything to do with contributing to the thread? What do you mean? If you mean that bitcoin needs new investors and more financial capital in the market, then I would totally agree with you. If you are just saying that "we" meaning "you" need money, then I nor anyone would know what to tell you.

But eventually the Bitcoin will flow into the Bitcoin ecosystem, and as a result, those holding Bitcoin will benefit. So when it's all said and done, we all win. It's just a game of waiting and holding, and most people will give up before moon, which means the ones that remain will be rich.

The only valid reason you can consider selling all your bitcoin is your financial failure. Situation when you don't have any other assets other than bitcoin and you need money for living. Or, you are done with bitcoin in general and want to do something else.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

I'm interested in this question because I am having some difficulties imagining a scenario in which I would sell "all of my coins" because if news got out - or I became convinced that BTC was going to fail, then I have a hard time imagining that I would be able to sell before others realized such negative news before me.
Accordingly, I remain very bullish about the future price prospects of BTC.... so any selling would be incremental and as BTC prices are rising....
in other words buying while prices are going down and selling as prices are going up... and to always maintain a stash of BTC....
This question seems to be requiring us to speculate beyond the current facts in front of us.... because the fundamentals of BTC seems strong and development around BTC and its infrastructure seems to be ongoing - and funds are NOT really being diverted into any other alternative coin or project that seems more promising. Surely, there may be some needs to diversify out of BTC, but at this time, NONE of those signs of diversifying out of BTC are suggesting to sell "all BTC," rather than merely spreading out some investment and/or hedging bets beyond merely BTC.
|
1) Self-Custody is a right. There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted." 2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized. 3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

I will probably sell 2 or 3 when it hits 1 million dollars per coin If it gets to $1 mill per coin, then that in itself means that the dollar would probably have little to no value at all. Why would you want to sell out? There would be no point... exactly what im thinking selling your bitcoin with the price of 1million per coin would be a mistake because as dollar drops the value of bitcoin increase if the bitcoin reached 1million per coin, dollar wouild be worthless.

Recently i understood that if a popular altcoin price goes down i should invest there. I did once, and sold mostly all of my bitcoins and then got a little profit of 0.5%. Which is not bad, but the risk was high, so i would sell only if see that i need urgent money.

Not always. There's no guarantee that because an altcoin is popular, it will go above the price you bought at. Sure, you can always think that Litecoin is too big too fail, but there's nothing guaranteed, the only thing guaranteed of going up eventually is Bitcoin, the rest is an huge gamble. I would rather focus on investing long term-ish and get out with good projects, like Maidsafe.
