another crypto currency is going to replace it as the defacto ... (which as things stand does not seem that likely).

There would be a new more sophisticated crypto currency, which according to forecasts could be replaced by bitcoin.

When the price reaches $2000
Well, then you may want to prepare to sell your Bitcoins soon, because I think there’s a good chance that we may, at least for a little while, surpass 2,000$ very soon. People selling at 2,000 and jumping the gun at 1990 1900 1800 even are why the price here was being put down for a while. Right now its regaining in very little time. Selling because the dollar price hits a round number is clown town logic You have to largely ignore that the majority of bitcoins are traded in China in their own currency and the number of course is not 2000 but its nonsense anyway. Ironic as it seems, if anything you should commit to buy below 2000 as it keeps faltering and recirculating under 2000 precisely because you understand the sellers are only obsessing over random numbers. What happens when we get past 2000, its going to rush past and up as all those round number sellers are 'defeated' in their fear of a top. The reasons why we get even near to 2000 is far more important and with larger inertia then the very weak fragile and illogical reasons to be selling 2,000. Say you could buy a house for 20k less. The downside is the number is 13 on the street but every house built was identical. Its that scenario, you buy here because the reasons for the lower price are not correct. Doesnt mean we know for sure the houses on this street are a bargain but in any scenario you are receiving a discount to buy into poor reasoning as it will be overcome and prove incorrect. The alternative is 13 is unlucky for sure and the house burns down from a bad number or with bitcoin, we fail at 2,000 because thats the largest i can count to. Its silly right, you profit when you overcome inefficiency and its how capitalism prospers and benefits society in general

I would sell all my Bitcoins if....wait...what??? So, I would not sell all unless I am in the deathbed and need funding for my funeral arrangements. However, there is a catch to where my funding will be spent after that. A portion will be spent to create a wild goose chase in finding my Bitcoins like a treasure map. You have to spend something to make something i guess, so why not make a treasure adventure with digital nomads, (got the term from a blogger who is blogging full time and lived in an RV the past three years). I guess you don't see that many travelers taking voyages to find the treasure chest, but why not? It would be good exercise to get a piece of the pie. Anyway, while I might have already been dead when this event is taken place, I would invest in a few scribes to record the events to make digital novels for the pleasure in others wanting to set off this similar activity. Anyway, it something I had in mind after death with finances instead of making an inheritance, why not with Bitcoin as well and let them work compete with other to get it. It is less to invest on a big treasure chest full of treasure when I could just set up a qrcode with an X marking the spot.

I could say something like "I would sell when price hits [insert 5-6 digits here]". But in my opinion, once the price is that high, BTC is already mainstream. So... how can you sell your money for money?

It's very simple. I am always ready to sell all my bitcoins if I need to buy something important to me. I have a passion for hoarding and bitcoin are just as a species of currency while protecting my savings from inflation.
