Bitmain implicitly hinted that he was talking about BF with that comment. no, BF dont aim at home miners anyway. Bitmain is just playing around.

Bitmain implicitly hinted that he was talking about BF with that comment. no, BF dont aim at home miners anyway. Bitmain is just playing around. BF doesn't aim at home miners, but they are a major driver of difficulty increases. Bitmain's always priced their hardware based on estimates of their earning potential as opposed to BOM cost. Bitfury not submitting a large wafer order makes every S5 more valuable, therefore they charge more. While it's possible they are talking about Asicminer, there's a lot more issues there that Bitmain would have been well aware of for much longer than the last 6 hours. I'd give better odds on it being Bitfury, and it's definitely not a shoe-in for being Asicminer.

Had to google it, what this 'shoe-in' means. I agree here, not a shoe-in for being Asicminer. AM did submit a pilot run back in September, not before the Chinese New Year.

I thought bitfury had a shit ton of money from all the VC it raised? Very interesting how bitmain didn't specify which manufacturer though. They might be keeping vague to drive hype to purchase miners. Makes sense for them to make it seem like it's 'the perfect time' to buy new hardware.

There were more informations through the earlier posts. Friedcat never tried to hide his identity and has posted a few pictures throughout his posts. If you remember where those might be, could you link them in this thread? I have him as "Brandon Lu" - fnnirvana(at)gmail(dot)com. Email is verified from share transfers - can others confirm or update name? Family looking is expected, now sincerity is something else.

Looks like enough to go and sit on the beach and ignore the forums. Also Bitmain pulled a dick move raising prices. It is a shame only the Chinese make miners these days. Who would ever trust China for anything

Would it be possible to sell the IP and distribute to shareholders? It seems a shame to let the BE300 go un-produced.

With Bitfury and KNC both being in production at the same or better specs, I wouldn't be so sure that the BE300 design holds any value. That is unless its already leaked or stolen (if ASICMINER/Friedcaf has indeed been compromised or disappeared).

To a different company so that they get to reclaim full ownership of the product and 0% to previous shareholders. At this point it would make no sense to just reappear. Lots of people would be able to claim damages. I guess it is "possible" but I don't think there's a minimum plausible chance.

The PR damage alone is huge, not even taking tech/financial into consideration.

It did seem like a suspicion but unless I missed it we don't have enough going evidence to prove that Although the point about damages is an interesting one For now I guess we will just need to keep watching to see the final outcome, a Phoenix's birth rise and fall guess we may see it all.
