Indeed. Still baffled by the behavior of the board members.

I think they are all pretty apathetic about the entire thing.

There's almost 33,500 share of AM1 on Havelock, and only 1750 or so even on the Sell side..
In fact, there's really only about 4 BTC of support left before this whole thing is over.

Anyone who had direct shares with AM currently have shares worth $0 and no way to even get them to havelock, god forbid there was any support.

The corporation itself has already filed to be closed, as posted earlier..   So they're not 'working in secret' or anything close to that idea... They dissolved and walked away.

More to the point, what do you expect them to do?

So yeah..    This kinda sums it up.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I am a life long supporter of The Toronto Maple Leafs, and I feel that AM is a little bit the same as my beloved Leafs.
I think they still have a chance.

Well...  as analogy's go...  I'm a lifetime Vancouver Canucks fan...    Even though they shit the bed in game 7, i'll still buy my season tickets too...

After sinking over 100 coins into AM, at least I still have my Block Eruptors... one in each color..   Wouldn't mind adding a CUBE and Prisma to the collection so I can at least look back in 10 years and say "I was there when it began..."

Perhaps even a FRIEDCAT FOR PRESIDENT! shirt Smiley

.. but as a future company?   Even if they come back it'll never be the same..   This was the golden age.

As much as I would love to see this as well, neither the Leafs nor Asicminer will ever win the Stanley Cup again.  The Leafs don't need to as they are the most valuable NHL franchise without even having to make it into the playoffs - why spend the money on a winning team? Just imagine if they did start winning; tickets would be even more unaffordable for mere mortals!
As far as Asicminer, they only ever had one star player (and it seems he was also the entire team) but he's gone like Bill Barilko.

well. i just pulled the trigger and dumped my AM1 shares. gone instantly... I guess tomorrow I'll wake up to news that FC is back and the whole thing was just a cover to release some super chip and shares are through the roof.

If any of you are serious about making money, just follow me around and do the exact opposite of what I do. FML

I also cant believe how fast those shares disappeared. I really have to wonder who the hell is buying this garbage... or if they know something...?

double FML

I've been following patterns for a while..   It looked like there was a person or two that was trying to keep the 'average' price high, buying a few at the end of each cycle, regardless of the actual dumps..      The thought being that any kind of 'buy back' or 'payout' would be at an 'average' as opposed to 'last bid/ask'...

However, as the shows almost over.. I think anyone is hesitant to dump any money into a risk... better to get your 1/2 btc back out than throw it away..

There's still a few playing the AM100 side...  only old-timers remember that AM100 are just representative shares internal to Havelock... backed up only by the good will of havelock... As are any AM1 shares..

When havelock delists AM, they also essentially make their own shares (35,000+) valueless...    This is the main reason they are still around.

In the meantime, manipulators will do what they do.

The only thing you did wrong was holding on... don't feel bad, in a few more BTC could buy them back for pennies and still have some BTC left.

So has this turned into a support group for poor bitcoin investments?

Well it does appear that way
That and as a memory of the good times followed by the bad times and then the end of an age of Asicmining.

Friedcat was missing in China, AMHash members were given a small cut from AM's funds to their assets, or to go the lawsuit route.
Asset is not liquid with no plans to speak of in a sense dead.

Oh how the times passed. I remember getting in on Asicminer in the beginnings, during the days of the bitcoin bump to $300 and then $1k ish. I saw as they rose to 2 bitcoins per share. I saw their first failed chip, their efforts towards using shipping containers to deploy large scale mining operations, the pictures of the blades, and all the other good stuff. I even remember the times when bitcointalk.org had rumors of the website getting a full makeover due to a few k in bitcoins a long time ago.

And now, our shares are worthless. Granted, I only had one share a long time ago that I left as a "why not", with the money being a full blown gamble in my end, so this isn't a full blown shock to me. Instead, it's just a disappointment, the end of the Asicminer era. It was fun guys!

I really would like to know where friedcat ist. He seemed a nice guy all the time so i wonder if he gets found. Are shareholders searching for him or is it a case of "nobody cares enough"?

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

from what I can figure out, the biggest shareholders were the earliest investors, so they had taken several times their initial investment already. There was the board of directors too (weren't you on it SebastianJu?) and I think they either got wind of this BS early and cashed out (several dumps for almost a year before FC split) or they simply were like the former group mentioned... they had already taken great profits and AM proper has already more than fulfilled their shareholder obligations, so ... why bother?

there might be some burned whales out there looking, but I certainly wouldn't announce my actions in public (here) if I was organizing a manhunt.

I'm pretty sure the rest of us have cashed out and taken the pittance we could for our useless shares.

I'd still like to see FC get his due, his exit was shabby move indeed.

one day he will turn up working for bitfury or some other chip designer

then we take to social media and get him fired

I think he has ruined his life. When someone chose to leave his newly married wife and the whole company set up by himself, fled to Thailand with all the bitcoins only he has access, he has already picked a blind ally in his life. He's already dead, no matter physically live or not. He's a smart and was quite nice but obviously not strong enough when there's pressure. In front of pressure and challenge, he has chosen the worst way he can choose.

Who is to say what's true or not? I haven't heard anything about a wife, they think he went to Thailand but they also say he's kidnapped or dead. As far as any of us know, everything we've heard is lies.

I'm just wondering if he can ever work in the industry again? Guys can hate their wife right after the wedding. Especially nerds who are usually totally manipulated by women. They can empty the bank account and go live with hookers at some beach resort. They can do all sorts of stuff.

Entire companies can conspire to rip off their shareholders

Competing companies can headhunt these crooks

if he's the type of guy to run off on his wife after only a few months of marriage, and screw over a whole bunch of shareholders and throw his hard earned company away, I would imagine he's also the same sort of guy who could squander a fortune in a few years. its not as hard as you would think. also, some people like to work. it can be the only thing the newly rich have to keep them grounded and if he did run away hes obviously not very grounded.

I dont believe any this BS anyway. He could be out there playing the stock market (sure way to lose a fortune) or trying to start up a secret mine of his own... no one knows, or at least if they do... they aint talking (paid off?)

the board was awful quiet, FC's partners had very little to say... whole thing stinks.

Hey! I resemble that characterization! some of it at least... yeah, I've been here a while, I have the (digital) hole in my wallet to prove it. and I gave up on this titanic loser a while ago. its over. attracting flies.

I guess it really is true what they say, in BTC land, BTC securities included... the guys who will get rich are the guys selling shovels, because the rotten, stinking corpse of AM needs to be buried! ASAP!
