Efficiency was close to zero with an Avalon mining stratum on p2pool.
Odd and worrying: you are not the only one having tried mining on p2pool with Avalons. I don't follow it closely (forums are not really the best for bug reports, I have to work from memory and I'm on painkillers right now...) but I know people have managed to bring Avalons at least in the 50-75% efficiency range right from the beginning and made progress from this point (maybe not with stratum).

I suspect there's at least one Avalon user on P2Pool for quite some time now which uses it without apparent problems given his payouts (185Kip6odGYs4eSHD6DYsWVDJBg2DNLfiV since 2013-09-04 with an effective ~65GH/s hashrate).

He mines to multiple pools.  I think two are on the same machine?  Not sure..

But his efficiency rating would be higher if he sent me a msg and told me his IPs, unblocked them (right now the nodes I know he uses don't allow incoming connections) for my IP and let me connect  Grin

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

variance is a non issue with so much of the total hasing power.
solo mining should be a no brainer.

Deploying
Heading to 15TH/s or more in the following 7 days.

Seems like a lot of work for the next few days, but would be awesome!  Grin
We're at 9 TH/s again on BTCGuild  Cool

Just updated my Hashrate sheets with the network percentage over time. I really hope we are getting a bit above the ~13% we're on for the last weeks Smiley

*Click on them for al full-screen interactive version.

USB Stick
The sample batch will be ready in 5 days.

Also, we will announce more news before the next update.

Would really like to see some pictures of that!  Cool

It was a bug in Avalon's fork of cgminer, which Avalon refused to fix.

forrest, the guy who wrote p2pool, ended up fixing it on his end which isn't an appropriate way of fixing it. Avalon users mine on p2pool fine now.
This is wrong too. The latest version of the Avalon code runs current cgminer code which I wrote myself. Running the latest version of the Avalon firmware+cgminer software with the latest version of p2pool, the stratum problem remains. P2pool stratum needs work...

with the value of btc down a bit and the sell wall on bitfunder, it is a very good time to buy shares. I expect the value to rise considerably in the next week.

and today is my favorite day of the week: dividend day!

you need to get your employer to pay on Monday or Tuesdays, so you can get more shares before dividend day!

I know it.  If I had some btc liquid, I would be helping to tear it down!  the sky's the limit once that thing is out of the way.  It was almost 900 a few days ago.

Smart from them to move away... The bids on btct are 1.24 frequently, he should move and sell there some of it. Size is small but it comes back.
Thank you for the info.

They should have taken those 900 shares and moved them to btct to sell at 1.30+ this week.  Not sure why they kept that wall on bitfunder, except maybe it was to keep prices low for the rest of us to buy in!

Once that wall is gone we will fly to 1.4

I agree.  It think it is going to shoot up, that wall was artificially keeping the price low.  Thank goodness I got cheap shares when I could!

Take all the time you need,
You deserve it!
We would all rather have everything go smooth but delayed then for things to be done incorrectly now.
