Hey everyone,
I have a few 5870s running Phoenix 1.7.5 and they each get about 400Mhash/s. I use the phatk kernel. I haven't investigated switching things in awhile, and maybe it is late in the game now that the ASIC revolution is around the corner. But is this an acceptable hashrate? I saw some posts where people were getting 420+Mhash/s. I'm just wondering it its even worth my time at the moment to upgrade & test newer miners & kernels. Besides temperature issues this system has been stable since last spring so I haven't tinkered with it.
They are on Slush's pool using his new Stratum mining protocol and rejects have dropped from .84% to .07% under Stratum.
Thanks!

Many times but never close enough for the finer points Thanks! I just got 10Mhash more per card by adding WORKSIZE=128.

I get my best phoenix results using: -k phatk DEVICE=0 VECTORS2 BFI_INT AGGRESSION=12 WORKSIZE=128 and this modified phatk kernel: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25135.0I think I personally was getting better results with the 2011-12-21 version.

Depends on what SDK you're using. Do you have 2.1? 2.5? or something newer like 2.6?
2.1 does best with worksize of 128 and a lower memory, like 170. 2.5 does better with worksize of 256, but a memory of 300. 2.6 or newer should not be used on a 5xxx card.
Now I was using CGMiner, but I ran my 5870 with SDK 2.5 at core:980 mem:300 kernel:phatk worksize:256 vectors:2 for ~460MH/s.

Wow, nice speed! It's been awhile but I think 2.1. How can I tell? Thanks!

Uh, it's been a long time since I looked. I use GPU Shark and look in the tools menu. Sam

not true, 256 + underclocking gives better hashrates even on 2.1 which I am running right now
