Hello,

I have some doubts regarding badges. My doubts are:

  • As it is done manually, is there any time period for updating?
  • Do old core devs still get their badge after they resign or will it change to Expert badge?
  • Can users request/suggest names of users who are worthy enough to receive a badge?
  • How do one get Expert badge? It it based on both knowledge and the time they came here?

IMHO DeathAndTaxes and DannyHamilton are good enough to get Expert badge. Hope they will get it.

Thank you!

In order to get the maximum amount of activity points possible, you just need to post once per day on average. Skipping days is OK as long as you maintain the average.

Edit: it can be seen on only Dev&tech section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=15527.0

Why do you care about badges?

You can see badges in Development & Technical Discussion board.
For example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=15527

%100 agree about that. It's not that important.

The two different kinds of badges are separate. You get an expert badge by being nominated by another expert and being confirmed by an admin. The same is true for Bitcoin core dev badge.

If a core dev were to resign then he would need to receive a nomination to receive an expert badge.
