The movie in question is this one (pre-trailer in English included):

http://www.thecosmonaut.org/

I created a youtipit escrow account for the director: http://www.youtipit.org/t/J2954

This is the youtipit address: 155kuguh26ukh1jFEw5ZSe5XqwESRQBhGC

They already collected 7800€ (21% target) via traditional means vs 5 BTC from me. Hurry! This can be a huge success story for BitCoin!

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

You could ask them to sign up to http://ww.youtipit.org. If they created a tipit we would try to get our members to tip them and I would be another way to promote the project.

I just got a mail from Bruno,

I sent him a mail earlier to see if he was interested in receiving youtipit/bitcoin tips. He said he would have a look soon. The cool thing was I was able to send him the link to the Escrow Tipit you created for him. If he signs up using his Facebook account he will have his first bitcoin!

Nice work Arthurh.

Haha, sorry for the youtipit bashing, I didn't know you were a founder. The setting up an escrow account was really counterintuitive, even with the instructions (I didn't find the "here" link).

Also, why don't you make donations amounts visible? For escrow accounts, at least?

And are amounts transfered to the youtipit displayed on "Recent Tip It activity"?

No problem. We only just started this feature last week and it definitely needs to be presented better. Still its quite easy to setup an escrow tipit and anyone can tip in to on (with or without a youtipit account). Any suggestions like the ones you just gave are welcome. Yes amounts are seen in your account and the account of the receiver under "Activities". We think its better to keep the amounts tipped away from public view although its very easy to implement. Do you think everyone should be able to see the tip amounts?

Why not? You can make anonymous donations to the bitcoin address anyway.

I think seeing how much has been contributed, would encourage people to give more ...

I have no experience with them, but I know of films that have received funding through http://www.piratemyfilm.com/
And Max Keiser, the site's owner, is bitcoin friendly.

I'd like to get started with crowdfunding for future film projects by accepting BTC to really speed things up.How do I start with crowd funding? How can I send a tip to the filmmaker if need be?

Thanks.

I created an instant tip jar for you:

https://propster.hypervolume.com/tipjar/0C6Z3WO

Put a link on you homepage.  Add more comments to the tip jar in the Comments section below, about what exactly you want to do, because it is not really clear why people should give you money.  Do you have a sample on youtube of the kind of stuff you make ? Put that in the comment.

I saw that Nicolas Alcala made his account in youtipit, but they didn't publicly this on his websites... I think we should advice him to do.
