Ooo nice to see there's finally a bitcointalk thread. although I'm still a fan of coinblabs layout, it's good to spread the word of byc everywhere  Grin

Let's try to get more exchanges to add Bytecent!

Here is a good resource to figure out how many coins you will mine per day: http://coinblab.com/forums/topic/77/cpu-primes-s-refernce-thread

But I would suggest mining for 48 hours to get concrete results, because two systems with the same specs can have different results.

Also, here is a great add-on for mining: http://coinblab.com/forums/topic/501/beta-launch-of-byc-collaborative-mining-system

For solo mining I believe the coins per day you can mine can be calculated by: chains/day * (0.97 * (1 - FracDiff) + 0.03)
where FracDiff = Difficulty - difficulty floor.

Example: if you have 25 chains/day and the current difficult is 7.9953 you would earn 25*(0.97*(1-(7.9953-7))+0.03) = .863975 coins/day or 1 coin every ~1.15 days

However, there is a "community mining pool" that lets you mine with others for better results

It looks like this is based on Primecoin?

Can the GPU miners developed for Primecoin be used for mining this coin?

No. Bytecent uses POM (Proof of Miner): http://www.bytecent.com/proof-of-miner.php

Bitcoin is approximately 6 years old, Bytecent is 4 months old. The age of a coin doesn't dictate its relevance or usability.

Well it does though. However much you want  to persuade noobs it doesnt.

If it had volume all those 4 months, people caring about and developing the coin, then sure, i understand you.
If noone gave a fuck until a tiny number of people possess much of it and then try to sell it to noobs via 'credit card' then...

The goal is wide adoption and accessibility for the no crypto people....
