There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

... Silence has been broken.  Today I received email from TradeHill / Jered Kenna ...

In summary; he has re-confirmed again that he does owe me and has my money.  As I've requested my preference to be paid in bitcoins; he basically indicates it still is expected to be a while as he has not yet purchased bitcoins to pay me.  Since he has broken silence with me; I expect this to be my last post to this SILENCE thread concerning this issue.  When I finally do get paid I will post that fact on this forum.  I expect I will wait about a week and then start emailing him again for new updates.  As history shows that I should expect to not get a reply I will then likely start up a new silence thread.

Today's summary;

11 days have gone by since I started this thread.

Today, Jered finally emailed me.

Jered's last post to this forum was 2 days ago (on 4.13.2012) here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=76001.0

Reading Jered's other posts it would seem that it's only his largest owed customer's remain unsettled.  The claimed unsettled list is:

ababa - claiming owed: substantial USD
omehenk - claiming owed: ?
jammie - claiming owed:  ?
Deafboy - claiming owed: ?
niyum - claiming owed: 4000 USD

tradehilltrader - claiming owed: 1600 USD (tradehilltrader confirms settled)
deego - claiming owed: 8500 AUD (deego confirms settled)

If you are unsettled or want to change your settle status, then please take over this thread or start your own thread.

Thank you - ababa

4.23.2012 summary update:

on 4.20.2012 I sent Jered email:

>Jered, any updated ETA on getting me paid? I see someone a couple days ago did a major MTGOX buy of BTC and was assuming it was you. - ababa

4 hours later I received reply from Jered which I've mostly blacked out:

>That wasn't me ##############################################. I'm still on it.  Jered Kenna

Current payment status is unchanged; I have not been paid.

End of this week I expect to email him again.  I'm a patient person.  I realize he has to be very careful not to lose MY money being scammed by someone else when he buys BTC.  I'll be able to be strung along for a long time as long as I believe he is honest and provides me timely replies and updates.

I'm waiting for you to confirm the address you want the coins sent to and I'll send them out. I've been busy buying and I'm ready.
If you want to confirm it here to demonstrate how easily it can be verified by a 3rd party I'd be happy to. If you want to keep it private I respect that.

I confirm that I'm now 100% settled with TradeHill / Jered Kenna.  In summary, my one and only suggestion for Jered is to improve your communication skills.  Individual hand holding and email writing is very time consuming so not realistic in a situation like this.  But as drastic situations as this was, you would have created tremendous good will if you started a thread here on the forum and updated it with weekly news.  Bad news no matter how bad is better than silence.  Thanks again and I hope to support you in your next business venture.  Let this thread die as now ababa has permanently left the building.
