I'm not looking for opinions on a ton of different alts. I have 1k to spend in alt coins and I decided I will either go with Pandacoin or Dogecoin. Please don't tell me to buy BTC as I am a early investor and have all I want. what coin out of these two would you choose. I AM prepared to lose this money so if either of these coins fail it wont bother me and I am planing on holding them for years. Help me gamble guys!  Grin

Dogecoin is not that new and like I said I will be holding for many years. I'm up in the air about pandacoin but from what I have read they seem promising.

Anybody else have .02 cents they would like to add?

Monero. It's about as cheap as it will go right now!

I have been hearing a lot about Monero as well as worldcoin and I just don't know much about them. I'm not looking to make a fast buck but rather a alt that I may be able to hold onto for a long while. Do you think Monero would be a good option for a long term investment?

I suggest DOGE rather than Pandacoin. I don't know too much about Pandacoin, but I know that the DOGE community is already large and shibes tend to recruit others (others who have never been into crypto, which are the most important new users).

Well, for starters Monero is not a Bitcoin clone, it uses a completely different protocol called CryptoNote. Monero was only launched in April 2014, and is a fair coin with no premine. As such, development is in embryonic stages and it is not exactly ready for the masses. It offers several key features due to the use of ring signatures - unlinkable transactions, untraceable payments; the anonymity is baked in to the protocol.

With the coming BitLicense regulations I expect further reason for private liquidity such as this to coexist along with the transparent ledger of Bitcoin. Many early bitcoin devs and early adopters have shown interest in Monero such as Peter Todd and gmaxwell.

Investing in Monero right now is like buying Bitcoin in 2010 - you have to believe the infrastructure will be built up but the technological advantages are there.

Dogecoin. Pandacoin has gone pretty shady over the months. Not to mention, it did become inactive for a little while, strangely.

I'd take Dogecoin any day. It's a nice, hype coin and it has a good community which is rare when it comes to coins of that nature. It picks up after a Pump N' Dump easily. I've invested in it a few times and got a pretty good return, and mostly, it was because it was speedy.

However, if you are choosing between Dogecoin and Panda, I think you'd do best splitting it down the middle... 50/50.

Pandacoin is shady, but, it's community does protect each other from useless FUD and Dogecoin is also good and just has more opportunities than Panda, due to it becoming a meme.

Whatever you do, absolutely DO NOT go into any of the rare coins, such as 42, 62, etc. Also I'd advise going into one with a active community, too.

Hope this helped, OP.

But then again - it's your investment. So if neither of these work for you just go crazy with it.

Everyone here will just tell you what they're investing in is the best option. Best way to find out is to do some research on things you want to potentially invest in. Understand the investment, the risk, and the potential reward. And above all be sure you are only investing what you are willing to lose.

I'm not looking for opinions on a ton of different alts. I have 1k to spend in alt coins and I decided I will either go with Pandacoin or Dogecoin. Since you already have lots of bitcoin, why not just use some bitcoin and convert it to alt-coin. But anyway darkcoin is the best!!
