CHIPS.GG banned without detailed explanation (SOLVED, DEPOSITS RETURNED)

UPDATE - OCTOBER 03, 2024

After a long battle, Chips.gg has returned my deposits to a wallet address of my choice and I think we can call it a day.

I would like to thank everybody for pitching in and trying to help on this one

Short summary - Played on chips a month ago, won 8.3k in a few days, they blocked me immediately. Posted a thread here where they first pointed out that I had "violated' a bunch of their T&Cs but when pressed upon for further explanation, we hit a brick wall but agreed to return the deposits.


OP -

On September 10th 2024, I began using my account with Chips.gg and made several deposits to engage in betting on their platform. Initially, everything proceeded as expected. I even successfully withdrew a small amount of 20 USDT, which was processed and transferred to my crypto wallet without issue.

However, after continued betting success, my account balance grew significantly to an amount of around 8350 USDT. Upon attempting to withdraw these winnings, my account was abruptly and completely blocked from accessing the site without any prior notice or valid reason provided.

I am absolutely convinced that this account block is an intentional effort to avoid paying out my legitimate winnings.

I am new to this forum so please let me know if I need to provide further details, Thanks!.

when I said "CLOSE" I meant that they are not allowing me to withdraw from their website. I am posting the chat screenshot where they gave me this news. And there has been no reply ever since.

I also dropped DMs to a couple of admins/moderators from their Telegram groups and all of them went unanswered and tried asking for help in their public chatroom after which they banned me. This is just outright shady.

As holydarkness said, at least provide a screenshot of your current screen where it shows that your account is blocked. Or did you mean that you cannot access their website at all? Remember that sometimes ISP block certain casino websites, so you cannot access them. You can try a different internet connection or a VPN to check if you can access their website.

If you can access the website but cannot log in, then try to contact their live support and ask them what is wrong. Take a screenshot of the conversation and share it with the community. If you cannot contact live support, try sending them an email and see if you get a response.

I correctly understand that you still have access to your account? Can you perhaps show screenshot of the amount that being held [i.e. your balance] and that you can't withdraw them? I think it'll be a pop-up message saying that withdrawal is being rejected and you need to contact support or a log of withdrawal stating that the requests are rejected.

I am completely aware that you've submitted your complaint to anjouan, of which, though I am rather not familiar with them and on how they operate, I will assume they work like the master license holders of Curacao, where they will want you to exhaust each and every possible mediation possible prior to escalating it to them.

Of which... since you've escalated to anjouan, it should relieved Chips from a "duty" to respond you here as their sole focus should now be to address inquiries by Anjouan. But hey, fingers crossed that they're willing to pop in here and give their side.

Anjoun has not opened an official enquiry, I just submitted the details there.

You seemingly already know why your betting was restricted, as stated in your own email to us: "I placed a value bet ... The bookmaker simply failed to account for that." Arbitrage and/or value betting is a well known strategy, which is not allowed and considered to be abuse by bookmakers and casinos alike. I will firmly challenge the legitimacy of your claims regarding both the closure of my account and the accusation of arbitrage betting. Your assertions are not only unfounded but also a misinterpretation of the betting activities I engaged in on your platform.

1. Clarification on Value Betting vs. Arbitrage  
The bet in question on the UAE Domestic T10 cricket match, where I backed the team ABX Rent a Car, was not arbitrage betting. It was a value bet based on the clear fact that Team BCI’s key players were missing, and your bookmaker’s odds did not account for that. The odds offered at 1.7 were inaccurately high when, based on team conditions, they should have been closer to 1.2. Identifying and capitalizing on mispriced odds is a legitimate betting strategy—value betting, not arbitrage. In no way did I place opposing bets on other outcomes to guarantee a profit, which is what arbitrage entails.

2. Lack of Evidence for Arbitrage  
You reference arbitrage and suggest that my bet was part of such a strategy. To substantiate such an accusation, you would need clear proof that I placed bets on all possible outcomes across multiple bookmakers to ensure a guaranteed profit. Since you do not have access to my betting activities on other platforms, it is impossible for you to definitively prove this. You cannot rely on conjecture and isolated betting patterns on your platform alone to make such a serious accusation.  

Additionally, the screenshot you refer to simply shows that I use multiple platforms, which is a common practice among experienced bettors. Using multiple bookmakers is not evidence of arbitrage; it is a smart way to access better odds and different markets.

 3. Transparency and Arbitrary Rule Enforcement  
Your terms and conditions do not clearly prohibit value betting, nor is there any explicit ban on placing bets based on accurate analysis of team conditions or market mispricing. It appears that you are attempting to retroactively enforce vague rules around betting patterns after your bookmaker's failure to correctly price the match. If your platform cannot handle bettors who take advantage of such legitimate opportunities, that is an issue with your odds-setting process—not my betting behavior. I strongly refute any suggestion that taking advantage of mispriced odds constitutes foul play.

 4. VPN Usage
You’ve also mentioned my use of a VPN service. Your terms do not explicitly ban VPN use, and as far as I am aware, using a VPN for privacy purposes does not violate any stated policies unless it is being used to circumvent geo-restrictions or other rules. Your failure to clearly state this in your terms adds further weight to the argument that your enforcement of these policies is arbitrary.

5. Explanation on Ban
Below I am mentioning the sections which you think I have violated.

Section 3.3: The Sportsbook platform reserves the right to refuse, restrict, cancel, or limit any bet.
Section 3.13: The Sportsbook platform reserves the right to suspend a client account without prior notice.
Section 13: If you breach any provision of these Terms and Conditions, or if we have reasonable grounds to suspect such a breach, we reserve the right to not open, suspend, or close your Member Account, withhold payment of your winnings, and apply such funds to any damages due by you.

I have carefully reviewed your claim regarding my alleged violation of their terms and conditions, and I find your accusations entirely baseless. The sections they reference, 3.3. 3.13 and 13 do not point to any concrete violation on my part.

These clauses are nothing but vague, overreaching statements designed to give the operator full control to act as you see fit without justification. I have not breached any rules or terms, and your reliance on these sections is a clear attempt to deflect from your obligation to pay out what I rightfully won. There is no specific accusation or evidence of any wrongdoing on my part—just an arbitrary assertion that you can do whatever you wish under the guise of these catch-all clauses.

 6. Resolution Expectations  
I have complied with the rules set forth in your terms and conditions, and your claims of arbitrage and rule violations are both unsubstantiated and unfair. If this issue is not resolved promptly and transparently, I will escalate the matter to relevant gambling regulators. Furthermore, I will ensure that the community of subscribers I referred to your platform is fully informed of this situation and advise them accordingly.

So, instead of beating the horse that's currently in a coma here, may I interest you on giving CasinoGuru a try? See if they have some wisdom to shed upon this matter. Of course, the general understanding that applies are the same, that both parties [as well as the overseer here] will adhere to the ruling made by CG.
