How To Play
You play with a deck of 5 cards chosen beforehand. During rounds, your cards are situated at the bottom of the screen, your opponent’s on top.
Both you and your opponent begin with 20 http://moonga.com/images/design/pictos/pv.png and 8 http://moonga.com/images/design/pictos/pp.png. Your purpose is to finish the 4 rounds of the game with more http://moonga.com/images/design/pictos/pv.png than your opponent.

Round progress

During a round, each player plays in turns the attack spell of his choice. Choose the attack spell you want to play and decide the number of http://moonga.com/images/design/pictos/pp.png you want to invest. Once during the game, you can choose to combine your attack spell with your support spell.

In order to impose damage to your opponent and reduce his http://moonga.com/images/design/pictos/pv.png, your http://www.moonga.com/images/design/pictos/atk.png have to be strictly superior to the http://www.moonga.com/images/design/pictos/def.png of the opposite attack. If this is the case you impose the http://www.moonga.com/images/design/pictos/dmg.png written on your card. During the resolution of a round it is also necessary to take into account the capacity of your attack spell as well as the spell of the opposite attack. This last one is different for each card.
You obviously also need to consider the capacity of the support spell if you choose to use it. Once the round ends, you begin a new one and so on until every player dealt his 4 attack spells.

Ranking

Your ranking depends on your Elo points. The amount of Elo points you earn in one game is decided by the difference of your opponent’s ranking and yours.
You compete against all other players in the Bitcoin community and here on BitcoinTalk. The challenge will last 1 month (until 30th April 2015).

Rules
This contest is open to everyone who can prove ownership of more than 0 BTC.
You must have played at least 20 matches by the 1st of May to be eligible to win the prize.
It is forbidden to play with family members, make fake accounts or multiple accounts. These activities will be closely monitored.

Strategic Advice:

Moonga players you'll find in the arena are pretty strong. There are playing for several years and have powerful cards. You should first play against the CPU. To start understanding the rules. You also get some ingame currency "copper coin". With those copper coin you can buy more powerful card on the market.
Players in the community are pretty helpful I suggest you ask them what cheap cards to get first. They often give share stuff with you as well. Use it as an advantage.
The good news is you are not competing with them. We are going to pick the player with the highest ELO among the player of this forum. So if you are 10 subscribers you are only competing against 10 people. And they are all newcomers. You shouldn't worry being among the top of players.

Since the ELO are related to your level don't rush trying to play online match. Make your way with CPU first. In the few last days you can climb high on the ELO score.

This game is free to play. You don't have to pay to play or to progress.

There are several ways to receive free silver coins, If you play on iOS you can have a look at the achievement sections.
If you are on android you gain coins when you play against computer or (more difficult at the beginning when you win against other online players)

Let me give you some hints,

First you shouldn't bother making ELO matchs while you are un prepared. Elo points are calculated from your level. If you beat someone much stronger than you you get a lot of points. So in few matches if your level improved you can grow quickly in the leaderboard. Talk in the chat make some friends. There are generous player giving their strategy and their cards.
 Focus on VS CPU to make your deck strong. Get some CC by winning matchs and get some advices on the best common cards you can get !

Yes the android version is still a little behind, but we are working on it ! But still you can change the cards in your collection by clicking on a card in your deck on the main menu. A windows with your collection appear !

I clicked on all 6 of these options, yet I don't see any card selection as you said. In fact, I don't see any of my cards at all, even the ones I bought.
Android users are at a huge disadvantage, or at least I am.

Is there an escrow holding the 1 btc?

Back and forth winning losing. I managed to get back up to 1506 points, but suddenly right before I ttry to go into a training match, my elo points go from 1506 to 1474... Wtf? Is this a glitch?

I haven't done any matches worth elo points... I was in training. I worked hard for these points and the first time this happened I did not do anything, now it happened again but these points are important.

I am missing 32 points, please add that to my elo points as it isn't fair :(

Yeah same thing happened to me actually. I haven't tried any online matched but went from 1500 to 1488. Not sure what happened though.

Happened twice while i was playing you.
1st time you timed out and i lost the game and elo (wtf)
Then again next round you timed out again but i won and got elo -> this may be the instance that cost you elo??

It is in beta afterall.

Also kinda pointless on Android as cannot access deck and change cards...hmmm

What did exacly happen. Usually we don't have bug on the ELO and the match system even if it's in Beta.
Did you got some internet connection interruptions ? What might happened is if you click on online match unintentionally and left the app for example.

I dont think there is that major a bug myself  - a few glitches and freeze moments here and there -> but the game is a BETA version - we just got to accept and offer feedback.

I just check nothing looks unusual in term of other people try to login with your account.
Did you maybe launch multiplayer game and since you didn't got any opponnent you left the game without clicking stop search ? And another player entered your left open match ?

I think what happened was I clicked on multiplayer game and no one came so I stopped it and left, but I tested it and there is a problem with the stopping, it won't actually stop. It will tell you that it stop but if you leave the game and come back few mins later you will most likely lose points (if someone enters your match)

@OP - Looks like you have updated the leaderboard, but why am I not included?

I'm sure Tomatocage or OgNasty or one of the other escrows will do It.

You should really pm them and ask. 1btc is quite a bit not to be in escrow. Just puts you in good standing is all :)

Yes since there is not that many player connected as the same time you will find diverse ranks when you plan. But we freshly added a room that seperate beginners and hard core players

The only thing I guess is you have been hacked. Could you change your password ? You should be able to click I forgot my password in the app.
Also next time it happens to you you should receive a notification.

Basically yes. But also the btc address they are using doesn't have 1btc in it.

And although this doesn't say too much as someone can having many addresses - the fact is it's been weeks since an escrow was requested for this promo and still no action on it... most legit promotions fund an escrow rather quickly.

The method of picking the winner for this was not well thought out... it should have more to it than just Elo (like a minimum of online games played, minimum of different online opponents etc etc).

Im glad you said that and have the ability (and will) analyze. Anyone can figure how to 'game' it - no physics degree required, i just hope it wont happen as part of this comp.

Ive played matches against unregistereds who just abandone games. Yes i get elo from that, but it's not how i want to win.

It seemed either (1) someone was testing the game and is not part of this comp, or (2) someone was practicing effects of cards against themselves and is not part of this comp, or (3) someone part of this comp was trying to game it.

1 and 2 are fine. 3 is not.

after a check this unregistered is someone who definitely a multiple account of someone trying to slow down good player in the ELO. But he registered before this comp so it's definitely not one of you.

EDIT: What I think would be awesome, hopefully Yodark sees this and maybe agrees, would be like a resetting ladder match every so often where you could start everybody from scratch and then we see who really uses strategy and who just has killer cards that are unbeatable for a low level brand new player. Just a thought!

Hahaha - exactly same for me. I only have limited cards and I learned how to use them to beat top guys. I think I've beaten all of them at least once.  But they have so many good cards they just rearrange them and smash me back over and over.

Good question! You need to own a bitcoin wallet where transactions have happened before. So it doesn't matter that you currently have 0 but you need to make sure that you own a wallet which has previous transactions.

They said CEST midnight. Which was 1.5hours ago.

Yeah the game is soo tough. The only way I got what cards I wanted was from cc from sunday tournaments and from buying sc with btc, and then selling the cards I got from the boosters to get more cc. Even then you had to be smart about which rare cards to buy.

And after all that the regular good guys had so many good cards that they could completely change their deck to counteract the deck you'd built. Very tough.

I think it's a monthly comp...resets back at start of each month.

Thats why thise regulars (peaccch, jihed etc) were so tough on us newbies - they were competing themselves.

I don't think its out yet but I may be wrong. I think they were doing some kind of a pre sale on bitcrystals which is the in game currency if I'm not mistaken. Hopefully Hnin or Yodark will chime in because I'm probably wrong about something haha.

Yes, that is correct. Spells of Genesis will be out on Android and iOS later this year. BitCrystals are the premium currency and fuel of the game. It's also a Counterparty asset so it's freely tradable. The upcoming BitCrystals token sale will fund the game's development. Also, we should be having a prototype testing this month - there'll be announcement soon. It's really great to have your support guys!
