Title: Bidding Services
Post by: ezeminer on April 09, 2015, 03:29:40 PM
Have you got an item that you want at an auction? Are you sad that you have a life that interferes with awesome auctions?

Well I have a solution for you!

My no life bidding services! That is right I stay up all night for you!

Just message me a day or two in advance before the auction closes.

Required information-
Auction Post:
Maximum bid(that you would pay):

Payment plan is a minimum of 0.04BTC or 1% per auction.

So get that sleep while my third red-bull kicks in!

Please post or message now :D

(More of a joke service)
EDIT: Quoted from Blazed's Auction for Lealana Litecoin coins ms68
I think we should set a time that satisfies the times for the most bidders, but whatever that time is, it should be in the weekend :) I don't know about everyone else, but I can say it would be easier to stay up in the weekends.

I predict that soon there will be someone who offers "bidding" services. Staying up and bidding in your behalf so you can sleep :P

I was more thinking of this as a joke.

But I would just be bidding on this forum for you because then I could say I bid 1BTC for the user *insert name (and a new topic that publicly shows the agreement between me and the individual)*.

I would never use my assets to bid for someone else.

1. If they don't pay I'm stuck with the item (can use an escrow to get over this)
2. I might not have the assets for an item. i.e. the casascius 10BTC coins

Honestly a proxy bidding service would be quite useful. You announce in thread that you are proxy bidding for the user. The client gives you a max bid and you do your thing.

Exactly what I thought when I saw that post.

Would need to make sure that the proxy was only acting for 1 bidder per auction

May also need some form of penalty if the proxy doesn't do what they say they will ... Ie they miss bidding and their buyer misses out on something they want, but could've won

I guess this would potentially need to have the equivalent trust and references to an escrow, even though they wouldn't actually hold the funds

I am also assuming that it may be beneficial for someone to become established in a few different timezones.... Like east coast, west coast, Europe, and oz/ nz... Depending when it's ending

Need to see it in action.
