Title: Bitcoin Street Faucet Post by: Mabsark on May 27, 2011, 06:21:34 PM These guys didn't pay out. They sent me an advert, they said they'd send me 0.02 BTC, but they didn't. There website offers no contact methods. The website is listed on the bitcoin site, and they're not paying up.
Title: Re: Bitcoin Street Faucet Post by: Horkabork on May 27, 2011, 07:19:12 PM I think I recall someone saying that there's a queue because of the demand and you'll get your freebie as they work their way down the line.
Title: Re: Bitcoin Street Faucet Post by: Ricochet on May 28, 2011, 04:34:30 AM If by "Bitcoin street faucet" you mean the "Bitcoin faucet" (http://freebitcoins.appspot.com/) which appears to be empty right now, it's run entirely by donations, and thus they're not obligated to give you anything. Think of it as a soup kitchen, not a welfare program.
EDIT again: the faucet helped get me started with BTC, so I sent in a coin. Should be good for 50 gifts @ 0.02 BTC apiece, assuming someone doesn't scam them as they've done in the past. Title: Re: Bitcoin Street Faucet Post by: ItsASpork on May 28, 2011, 07:08:54 AM Looking at the site, people are claiming multiple coins per address. Is there a way to report the abusers?
Title: Re: Bitcoin Street Faucet Post by: wareen on May 28, 2011, 07:12:44 AM the faucet helped get me started with BTC, so I sent in a coin. Just sent one as well - maybe there should be some kind of notification system for potential donors if it runs dry. Luckily it seems to pop up in the forum pretty quick :) Title: Re: Bitcoin Street Faucet Post by: wareen on May 28, 2011, 07:15:44 AM Looking at the site, people are claiming multiple coins per address. Title: Re: Bitcoin Street Faucet Post by: error on May 28, 2011, 08:06:36 AM No thanks. My cell phone number is gloriously spam-free and I intend it to stay that way.
Title: Re: Bitcoin Street Faucet Post by: wigsgiw on May 28, 2011, 08:13:34 AM http://faucet.bitcoin.st is a bit of a fail anyway - they asked me to enter a 8 digit verification code... but the one they sent was 9 digit (starting with 100xxxxxx) - which means it failed verification. They've run out of 8 digit numbers! Heh.
That could be your issue Mabsark? Title: Re: Bitcoin Street Faucet Post by: TiagoTiago on May 29, 2011, 03:45:14 AM I used my Google Voice number there and it worked, just waiting the confirmation for the 0.02BTC transfer (already showing on my client, just waiting confs)

Title: Re: Bitcoin Street Faucet Post by: TiagoTiago on May 31, 2011, 04:45:54 AM Since S/N aren't public, you can't google it or whatever to find if it's real, so all i have to do to profit is to find a free S/N generator...
