Title: What to invest BTC in?
Post by: TriggerX on April 18, 2015, 07:02:28 PM
I want to invest bitcoins in websites. It doesn't have to be much income but I just want it to gradually grow little by little.

I have lost 1BTC+ due to gambling and have stopped gambling hoping to find a better solution. In total, I lost -0.86350287 on Primedice, -31.09851268 Clams on Just-dice and +0.03 on Dadice. I was hoping to find some profitable investments before I lose anymore.

I have kept some BTC around but not much to invest.

I have tried

Cex.io which is down now due to the low price of BTC
Cloud.zenminer.com which is also down due to low price of BTC
Scrypt.cc which I lost 0.15BTC because my account somehow got hacked and can't retrieve my login/password

I also tried investing in the just-dice bankroll but I don't earn enough so that when I trade it back to BTC I'll make a profit due to the fluctuation of the prices.

What do you guys suggest?

I suggest BitShares BitUSD - it's great for savings.

http://whatisbitusd.com

Some features:

► Earns Interest - currently 5.05% APR (https://bitsharesblocks.com/assets/market + https://bitsharesblocks.com/asset/orderbook?asset=USD)

► No Counterparty Risk

► Blockchain Secure

If you want to test BitShares, I run a giveaway here: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,14780.0.html

Maybe you buy https://moonstone.io (https://moonstone.io) Tokens, they promise +15% Profit.
Also the cyber.fund (http://cyber.fund) recommended to buy Moonstone Token in the last Newsletter #6 from 10th April 2015

EDIT: Okay someone had the same thoughts like me :P

They have build a new Light-Wallet that support BitShares in V1, Bitcoin in V2 and it will be able to support many more Altcoins/Blockchain/Exchanges by extensions/plugins.
Thats the basics, but they have a more to come if you watch the Interview carefully.

However, the wallet will be released no matter what, but they want to publish it under the MIT license which will enabled third partys to use and extend the wallet for commercial Business.

Edit: I would call it the swiss-army-knife of crypto wallets.

Itnom from Moonstone here (the guy in the Moonstone video). Moonstone is build by the Bitsapphire.com team. We're the technical team behind http://coinality.io/ and http://peertracks.com/.

Moonstone is the first wallet with an exchange interface for trading seamlessly on external exchanges as well as to hedge your risk through counterparty-less CFDs. We support from the getgo Bitcoin and Bitshares as well as cross-chain trading. Moonstone provides an on-blockchain approach to ID verification. This means that external exchanges as well as other financial institutions on which you want to trade any kind of assets on (including stocks and bonds) will be available to you completely legally through one and the same easy and intuitive interface.

The 15% potential return is in terms of Bitshares tokens, however if you are interested as to what we can offer feel free to contact me at taulant [at] bitsapphire.com or shoot me a tweet at @itnom. We can offer special deals for many cases.

I suggest you not to invest your bitcoin anywhere. You are not protected against scams and bankruptcy. Invest your fiat, keep your bitcoin save in your own wallet.

The moment you stop gabbling and investing your coins is the moment you'll have more coins.

If you invest your coins in "websites" the probability of losing them is enormous, keep your bitcoins, you'll never regret that decision. :)

So go back to gambling, ffs...  You can't win investing your own BTC these days, you just get scammed more than not unless you have hundreds/thousands of BTC. The reward to risk ratio sucks dicks, you can't win unless you hodl these day, I've learnt that for sure.

Besides, btc is pretty cheap right now, so i understand your wanting to make more from it, but just buy more, and keep hodling.

Gambling is the worst thing for me, because I'm not lucky guy :D good to you to stop gambling, but stay away too from cloud mining(most all ponzi scheme),  investment which offer you big profit(usually in the end is scam).
The best thing bitcoin investment is hold your btc on safe wallet :)

You could buy https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=636950.0 and then as BTC goes back to crashing & people buy your inventory (with me charging for shipping), then stuff you bought for BTC27.7309 can be sold for more than that.

many of bitcoin based investment ended with scams, so i suggest you to stay away from "that" investment. Most of them is ponzi scheme, they will take your bitcoin and run with it.
safest investment not in bitcoin, try bonds, stocks, mutual funds or gold in fiat investment. They are regulated by an institution, not like investment in bitcoin world which is like "wild west" :(

there is no guarantee as well the institution which is regulated by the government will not bankrupt and take away all of your investment. It is the same either for fiat or bitcoin investment, in the end someone will need extra caution for this because there is no easy money

I ve made some nice profit investing into PoS coins, Diamond and Tek.
Staking could be considered as a new form of more efficient mining and you can have your coins stashed offline which reduces the risk.

In my experience, that works in the beginning of the POS coin stage, but it increases inflation/supply, so in the end it fails. I hear you though, you just have to be on top of your coin-game/day-trading. ;)

Hashnest is decent to play but its a gamble. THe site and company is probably one of the most reputable around. Think of it like holding a stock that pays dividends since holding it for long terms (months) might not reach an ROI. Buy low sell high is the way to make a profit there. Holding the miners for a week or 2 makes decent income and if you sell it for around the same price you can make a nice profit

That's the dumbest reply ever. Don't give away your BTC, you'll only end up begging or hoping for it back.

you should probably hold your BTC till the price goes up and gets stable, then you can think of investment options, investing now is too risky, we may wake up tomorrow and BTC price is $10, wait until the price is stable

This is even dumber advice. If we all hold our BTC, how is this economy going to grow?

NO!! There are tons of interesting projects, you just need to find them.

This might be a dumb advice if everyone would follow it, but for a single separate investor it's really risky to invest BTC at this point. BTC itself is a risky investment imho. So investing it further given the current circumstances might not end well. If you feel lucky just do some research and invest in some altcoins to make a fast buck, but it's fairly reasonable to hold your main BTC bag for now.

I didnt say everyone should hold their BTC, if the OP holds his money untill things are stable then he will have less things to worry about, he will not worry about the price of bitcoin, his only worry would be the profitability of his investment.

This is also a good idea, once the collateral collected from defaulted loans can make him some profit but a recent visit to the lending subtopic probably shows that this business idea is saturated, 13 of the posts on the first page were of those offering loans

Don't invest in cloud mining and ponzi scheme. And don't invest in altcoin IPO/ICO, because many of them are scam!
Try to invest in gambling casino, look for reputable bitcoin casino that accept investment.

nothing is safe, safe is an illusion

money is like energy and energy flows
same is btc or other altcoins even gold (there is no stable prices)

just make a good research, ask and think
if you are a religious believer make and prayer, you need luck also

when you will go into an investment and when you go out, with a ROI and a profit

personally i invest and make some earning and also have loses
my mistake was that didnt get our early and that means more loses

so always have a backup plan
and always reinvest and take some profits out !

I think the main problem is that people get drawn away from legit operations towards operations which promise 2-3 months ROI. Greed takes over and people lose money. Then they complain about being scammed.
It s so simple, if ROI s 3 months and they provide no explanation how do they do that, STAY AWAY. Control your greed and you ll do fine.

Buy some seats (shares) in NastyFans (https://nastyfans.org). It has been up for years (2012?) and has never been hacked or taken users' money, and is run by very trustworthy people. The price per seat is relatively stable and should go up steadily over time I'm thinking. Plus you get regular dividend-style deposits of BTC to your account with the size depending on how many seats you own. But mainly your BTC is safe to keep there, even if there's only slight increases in price that is like interest on your BTC holdings.

is not the 2 or 3 month ROI the issue, if somebody can give 2 - 3 months and be legit is good not bad.

there are investments with ROI 1 year or more and at the end shows us that are scams
and this had happen in every investment idea on btc or other

if btc stops magically, scammers will continue their scams

yes always the people are the spammers. week people that need more and more

No sane service provider would sell golden goose which lays golden eggs which provide 2-3 months ROI. Only total idiot or a scammer would do that.

Remember, this is 2-3 months ROI including service fee which means actual ROI for service provider s even lower. Would you ever do it if you had that kind of service in your possession? Why would you do it?
It would not be a problem to get financed by private investors and avoid dealing with thousands of small investors, security, public exposure, etc.

I know what service you talk about, I know you are deeply invested with them and I hope you reach ROI but there s no way they are legit and your payments come from other people deposits.

I suggest you to invest to promising altcoins with some of your BTCs. First you have to make a good research, and after you invest you should be patient. Do not sell or buy at instant pumps/dumps. Set a sales strategy yourself. for example, when the price is increased by 10%, i will sell 15% of my coins I have, etc.

I certainly believe that you will earn a significant profit in long term.

All are from what place you look at it.

Yes mining have a lot of scams
hello, scammers are everywhere in the life.

if you interesting to search for a scammer, eventually you find one or more.

Also a lot of businesses closes because of bad business decisions or other reason, if we dont know we say easily : an other scam !

About scrypt.cc and 60 days roi as example

yes how can be a ROI of 60 days, ? it must be a scam is only way logical , so decided its a scam.

When we research we must research more and more not just read something and we have make our mind of it.

Have you make an acount at scrypt.cc ?
have you send some btc or satoshi and buy some khs ?
have you wait some days and make your own calcs about your payments ?
have you buy more khs or sell by trading there ?
have you sell your khs and withdraw  ?
have you lock with the best way is possible your investment even is some satoshi ?
do you have your own knowledge about or just copy one ?

its very simple why now the scrypt.cc is about 60 days ROI (last year isnt was more that 150 days !!!)
just there is a live market that sell and buy KHS
users of scrypt.cc trade their khs 24/24 7/7 365/365
that make at the moment the ROI of 60 days (about)

it not a goose  or an egg , just a trading market of khs

as i know scrypt.cc is the only one at the moment that you can trade your khs freely at any price (perhaps i m wrong, please correct me)
usually a mining company or a cloud mining one sells khs, mhs, ghs at a fixed price

Shit coins are great but at the right time, the right time is during bitcoin bubble mania when a bunch of money comes into the market and buys up any coin.

How can you know if there is really promoising altcoin? You dont need to invest like that. Its just the same as ponzi if you doing that. For couple of days it will go higher but later it will drop so significant and make you lose a lot of it. And its like wasting time on doing that

So, we just have to sell altcoin all we have when the price still high
It's risky, but we could earn a lot of profit

Still better than lending without collateral

Yes its true that selling altcoin when bitcoin is skyrocketing is good, you can earn a lot from it. But how are you gonna choose before which altcoin is the best for you to play like that? It is too risky better you do bitcoin trading is more promising than just to pick random altcoin

Well other than just buying and holding till a price rise, i'm for now at least investing some on scryptcc.. some users claim it is a ponzi, but it is still paying, and paying good so far with 60 days ROI, might be a good place to "gamble", although i have some friend how are there for more than a year and recieving all fine so far.

ALL cloud mining is either a ponzi or a rip off. look at mintsy that came out today, throw away your money on -ROI... :(

Edit - If you ROI or make $,  you got in early, & the people joining later likely paid for your loss.

I think it's just matter of luck

You won't get profit from altcoin trading
The risk is too high while the profit isn't too much

But I think if you really know what altcoin is the best and you invest so many in there may be you will get profit but still there is very high risk that it will drop drastically or skyrocketing

I don't think it's all that new, but here is the ANN thread. I solo mined one DMD once, it took a full day with 2 graphics cards, and was worth .17 cents after.  ::)

My Bad, see Ivan's post below for correct link.

That s not the correct ANN thred, this one is:

BTW, DMD is PoS coin as well, 50% annual PoS. An interesting coin to buy, hold and stake. I do not think there are any really profitable alts to solo mine anymore. But mining and staking is a different story.

As you can tell by the responses here, not much exists in terms of what you can reliably invest bitcoins in. Most either end up being scams, Ponzi schemes, or gambling sites, or just plain bad investments where you end up losing money.

I'm surprised though that nobody has mentioned peer to peer lending yet. It is still a high risk "investment," because people can run off with your money and no reliable bitcoin collection systems exist yet - but if you take the time to research the process and find good borrowers, you can actually turn a nice profit.

The three sites that do this now are BTCJam, Bitlendingclub, and BTCpop.

BTCJam is the biggest, but they have the most scammers and are rapidly making changes for the worse, in my opinion.

BTCpop is small and not very relevant at this stage. They may become a legitimate competitor to bitlendingclub if they grow, but I just don't see it presently.

I invest mostly in Bitlendingclub. They are the most proactive in communicating with their customers, they seem to be making the most innovations, and they currently have the best product in terms of preventing scams and I really like the interest rate discovery option. That is what a market for loans should be.

Check them out - if you feel like helping me out, you can use this link (https://bitlendingclub.com/invite/aqorlx) which is a referral link and gives me 0.2% of any loan payments you make - which seems like it isn't even the goal of what you are looking for as an investor. Either way, I recommend it as a good way to earn interest on your otherwise idle coins and a way to help the bitcoin infrastructure grow. Bitcoin and peer to peer lending are natural companions. I hope to see it grow by leaps and bounds in the future.

Take some time to learn how to do it and participate in the discussion boards to avoid making newbie mistakes that will cost you money.

It s not new, its been around for a couple of years. I hope you did follow my advice cause the price of DMD Diamond went up 15% in the last two days. It ll go up more since that coin has just been added to Bittrex and we all know how important Chinese market it.

In last few days I didnt even see DMD in bitrex and I dont know for now because I didnt follow bitrex often. And why are you so sure that DMD is going to rise again after this couple of days? Just because it raise in the last 2 days doesnt mean that it will be going well too

I cannot be sure, this is just my opinion.

This coin s got a very limited supply, only 4.38 mill. The rollout s designed in a way that PoW block reward got reduced from 1 DMD per block to 0.2 DMD per block. So PoW s still there and supplies coins but very limited supply. PoS gives you 50% per year.

If you want to test my hypothesis, try to buy 5k DMD and see what happens to the price. It ll go up 15%, at least. NOBODY sells that coin. Ask yourself WHY?

Once more, I like it and I m biased. Make your own decisions where to invest, I m just providing infos.
