Liberty reserve was not available the last days, yesterday they posted on their blog that the problems have been solved http://blog.libertyreserve.com/ . I still can not access the login page, is there anybody else with the same problem or is it working for you? Title: Re: Liberty Reserve still down? It does show the strength of Bitcoin though. LR was a completely opaque and centralized system. It is entirely possible that they got greedy and decided to introduce some fractional reserve system. More profits, more leverage, more fun. Or they had some fraud/theft and hid that by simply inflating the amount of LR (in fiat currencies undetected counterfeiting adds to inflation). Such a system could work fine for months or years unless you get a large imbalance of withdraws vs deposits. Then you have a bank run ... well unless you have a Title: Re: Liberty Reserve still down? The were down for nearly two weeks in 2011, a lot of people wrote them off and they came back like nothing happened. So this second year in a row now. If they do come back, then that possibly means they are getting a full audit, possibly by their regulators there and are turning over the data (neiither of which would they or could they reveal to anyone, of course).
