Title: Anyone wants to do something about GlideSec Asset and GlideCoin issue?
Post by: Hubus on May 01, 2015, 10:24:13 AM
Hi there,

is there anyone of us who wants to do something about the GlideSec Asset and GlideCoin issue (maybe Scam)?

Here are the two threads of the asset/coin issuer and his posts:

He closed this one, declaring justified questions as "FUD" (fear, uncertainty and doubt):
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=961897.msg11208555#msg11208555

And that's us, the current 115 asset holders:

What do you intend to do here? what is the ultimate aim?

Communication of defrauded users, collecting evidence, maybe sueing a criminal scammer or getting some information about the asset and coin if it should be legit (even though the chances for that are low). Something must be done against all this criminal, destructive, abusive acting to better trust for the honest and constructive users who want to use cryptocurrencies etc.

The asset is still alive on the NXT exchange, so it is important for shareholders and potential shareholders to know if it is really "living" yet, or just abandoned by the issuer.

I think we can do nothing about the issuer! He just runs away with investors' money! The price of his assets like roller coaster. He deletes all of the unfriendly conmments in his asset ann thread even blames the investors and our forum! Investors have no confidence with him.

We can learn lessons from this! Actually the asset and its issuer are accused a lot in nxtforum. Many members there say his asset is scam!

I cant believe there is no one on whole BTT forum, who could track him.

GlideSec. aha. To me, that thing looked fishy, from day one.

Or at least like something that I want to stay away from. If someone promises superhigh returns without risks, he is either a genius, or a liar / scammer - or scamming other people to get their money, to then distribute it to its own crownies. Myself, I do not want to be part of such schemes. But perhaps I am wrong, and loosing out on a lot of lucrative opportunities?

As an honest person, you always loose all bad and illegal opportunities. Robbing is easier than sowing, harvesting and working. But the good way is the stony way...  ;)

My involvement in GlideSec was only short, I was just starting and testing, as the only way in cryptos seems to test it for myself, as many people talk a lot of contradictory things here and I don't know what I should believe. So, I just received my first (and only) dividend, calculated it and it looked great, so I bought some more shares. Then suddenly (for me) there was this idea with the GlideCoin (completely unnessesary for me) and everything stopped.

So ... what if it is not fraud?
Perhaps it is just an angry mob - which is unhappy about their disappointed expectations to get rich immediately?

The developer/asset issuer could explain himself to calm the 'mob', but he didn't, instead he made false promises or gave no information at all (and seems to have left, nobody knows). If it is no scam, it is a very bad and deceiving behavior. But it's likely scam or he changed his mind and took everything he could get out of it, and left.

However, once the case is 100% clear, and decided beyond any doubts

This might never be 100% clear. Only the developer or some 'detective work' could clear it up.

come back to me. Then ideally with an already collected crowdfunded bounty, to pay me. Not much, but worth my work.

Well, the only thing I did so far was looking at the shareholder distribution. I don't know if more will be necessary or promising. We'll see if there are any more ideas. Personally, I did not loose too much money to put more into it, but I would like to help and to prevent such cases. And to get an explanation (and maybe my money back and/or some punishment for the scammer, if he is one). But maybe some big investors could be willing to put some money into investigation of the case. Do you have any ideas for investigation? Does your software help there?

I own a significant amount and would like to help.

I cant believe there is no one on whole BTT forum, who could track him.

Could it be helpful and adviseable to contact the forum administrators for some infos?

Or anyone willing to "'call the police" (a lawyer)?

I have to say, I did not loose so much money on it, but it makes me angry, anyway, there is just so much of this shit out here in the cryptocurrency world. I know, somehow we might profit from this semi-legit or unclear or even illegal market ourselves, but anyway, the behaviour of the "dev" makes me angry.

thats what this scammer is doing with our money....

https://nxtblocks.info/#section/accountId/NXT-253H-ESRL-K87C-4R9FG

Can you explain this further (for us, who might be not so skilled with programming and blockchain analysis etc.)?

How is this linked to the asset issuer, who is this account:

https://nxtblocks.info/#section/accountId/NXT-PAYL-8T56-TN6N-458RJ

There are only six outgoing transactions from NXT-253H-ESRL-K87C-4R9FG to NXT-PAYL-8T56-TN6N-458RJ, total amount 78901 NXT.

NXT-253H-ESRL-K87C-4R9FG its poloniex cccount

So, false alarm?

Here.. Call the guy up yourself.. This is the whois info for the domain name that was posted on the "Devs" Facebook account.. Perhaps someone that lives over on that side of the river can do more with it than I can. This has already been posted all around ccex and other places. Don't remember who linked it to me since I couldn't access his FB, but thanks to them!

Wow, impressive!

I am not very happy with exposing someone on the internet like this - but on the other hand, it seems to be the only possibility when someone leaves like this.

If anyone got him on the phone, please report. We could also write a letter to him, of course. But what if "Actualupsurge" just used the name of someone else, that would be bad, indeed...

If the asset goes completely down, I loose about 50 Euros. So not worth badly threatening someone - but in total, the financial damage for all asset holders together might be some thousands of Euros, possibly up to a maximum of ca. 70000, if I may estimate? Who are the big investors?

If the "dev" wants to avoid this, he could just show up and answer our questions. For example, if there is a chance of continuing the asset or if we should just throw it away.

I don't know if we have much rights in such a speculative business, but he should at least tell us if he dropped the whole thing. But the chances for a scam are really high. He avoided questions and deleted posts from the start. If you have more evidence of what he did with the assets/the money, please inform us.

Unfortunately, I read all these threads too late, NXT forum:

Everything I posted was public info already.. and it was all from stuff he had on HIS Facebook. Imo, if he didn't want this information out, he shouldn't have ripped people off.. Also, did anyone else start receiving some coin called Bitrcy or something like that if you had Glide in your NXT wallet? I'm kinda thinking he may be a part of this "project" as well

I still don't know if we could read something from the blockchain, the Asset Issuer Account was https://nxtblocks.info/#section/accountId/NXT-PAYL-8T56-TN6N-458RJ . The most prominent outgoing transactions were:

Maybe one/some of these were his own accounts?

But the account does not seem to cover all asset sales? Where else was it traded?

I don't know about Bitrcy. But I just found "autodiv", which some people connect with the same person or pattern:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=926800.msg11232722#msg11232722

Oh I care, lack of surprise I'm sure. After all the last crap with the first AutoDiv this was bound to happen.

I think it's interesting to see that this and GlideSec have appeared bot not pay dividends the same weekend... and by my calculation they are both the two top div paying assets. Fingers crossed on the GlideSec. AutoDiv, well, based on the OP's behavior over the last few months, I honestly have lost hope. Being proved wrong would be a pleasant surprise.

Also, did anyone else start receiving some coin called Bitrcy or something like that if you had Glide in your NXT wallet? I'm kinda thinking he may be a part of this "project" as well

I don't know about Bitrcy. But I just found "autodiv", which some people connect with the same person or pattern:

BTCRY and GLIDESEC are not same dev unless both are German.  In crypto you never know. BTCRYA, well I issued and you see I'm on the asset holder list. Go figure, but it was a great investment at that time.  Especially when it entered ccex market.

I don't understand the connection. And one thing is a big problem: Of course, a ponzi or a pump and dump scam can be a good investment. But for whom and for how long and at which cost? This is never productive work or a win-win situation, it's always a win at the cost of others. It's never a win for all.

In a lottery, it's the same - but in a lottery you know what you are dealing with. In a scam, you are lied at and deceived. You are the prey which is lured into the trap.

Are you all ready to "out" the man behind Glidesec? I will dump all of his info if he doesn't give back our funds. At this point... zero excuse. He needs to pay up.

I am ready.

But how can you be sure who it is?

I just sent an email to that company http://www.konetic.com/ inquiring about Matthew. I'll post an update here if they answer it.

I just had a chat directly with @mkirrane on twitter and he claims to not be the Glide dev, nor knowing much about Bitcoin.

Its more likely that the Glide dev just posted a fake link on his facebook to just pretend being Matthew Kirrane.
Although I never even saw his facebook. Where did that information come from?

Does anyone have any more information on the Glide dev real identity?
Could this guy on twitter be lying about not being the glide dev?

We'll have to dig deeper.

His name seems to be hidden due to this http://www.whoisguard.com/ thingy.

Maybe we could try contacting enom.com or namecheap directly to ask for that info? (I don't think they would give it easily without a warrant or something, but it could be worth a try) Or getting rid of the "whoisguard" somehow to lookup his real name?

I'm open to suggestions.

How can you be so sure? It doesn't look like its him. Digging deeper into his glidesec.com domain might provide us some real info if anyone want to give it a try.

I'm already trying to contact "whoisguard.com" to see what they need before they can provide the info. Sent them an email.

I haven't heard yet from the whoisguard support, but I contacted namecheap.com in the meanwhile, here's their last answer about my inquire for the domain info:

Code:
Roman Pa.:
So, unfortunately I am indeed not authorized to resolve such cases in chats since it requires deep investigation. Firstly, please submit a support ticket in regard to this case to our "Hosting - Legal and Abuse" department here: https://support.namecheap.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit

Roman Pa.:
Also, we strongly recommend you to submit a form to Internet Crime Complaint Center here: https://complaint.ic3.gov/

Roman Pa.:
We will assist and cooperate with them in any way we can, and our Legal team will assist you on getting information about the registrant of the domain"

Carlos Eduardo Wallauer:
I see

Carlos Eduardo Wallauer:
Ok I will proceed with that

Carlos Eduardo Wallauer:
Thanks a lot for the help though

Roman Pa.:
You are very welcome, I hope that this case will be resolved as soon as possible

Thats it so far. Continuing with the investigation. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you kaduwall for your efforts, your doing an important thing for the crypto world! As it is full of scam cases, someone (we?) should really find ways to combat this. Maybe someone knows about other similar threads here and can provide some links?

@adroitful:
Unless you can explain and prove your claims, we cannot really rely more on this than on the promises of the Glidesec Seller (won't call him developer) ActualUpsurge. Everyone can claim everything here, the proof is the problem. Before you claim, you can of course look for hints and possible traces. But we can't be sure like this.

No problem Hubus, just trying to help somehow and trying not to lose some money as well, heh

Btw, Whoisguard answered me:

Quote
Kadu,

Unfortunately we cannot provide the registered owners information without first obtaining a Subpoena.  Please contact the authorities if you feel you have been scammed.  Sorry we could not be of assistance.

Regards,

WhoisGuard Support

Dead end there for now.

Another thing: there's a person that claims to know who the dev really is with proof, but this person is charging 1.5 BTC for the information. If anyone thinks its worth it, we could perhaps find some escrow for that.

Meanwhile, has anyone submitted a form to the Internet Crime Complaint Center here? https://complaint.ic3.gov/
We could do that too.

And if anyone thinks that there's a way to obtain a subpoena to get the owner's info, that could be cool.
If there aren't many ppl interested in doing something here I'll probably just let it go. Let me know what you guys think, I'll be around.

Ty!
