Title: Poker Ring Game Meetup
Post by: Indamuck on May 07, 2015, 02:57:07 AM
**I've moved this meet-up game to Luckyflop - you can intermittently find me at any one of their ring tables. Lately the 0.03/0.06 mBTC Limit Hold'em, and larger stake PLO tables have been popular. It seems this week one can always find action - one or more people willing to sit down and play. Earlier today we had 5 people at our 6-max table.

If you've been freerolling and are looking to balance out your play with some ring action, I would recommend you look me up here. Also, for every raked hand you play at table with BB 0.06 mBTC and above, you win 'Lucky Points' which gain you exclusive entry to larger freerolls that run several times each day.

The mix of games here offers a good opportunity to build your roll. See you at the tables!

We've been churning freerolls at a number of sites, but often lament that it is hard to get a ring game going when nobody else is sitting at the table. Moreover we understand that playing HU is a completely different game than full-ring. And for beginners it isn't always comfortable to move from freerolls to sitting HU with your real chips on the table.

This is to set up a daily 1hr ring game meetup at a rotating list of up-and-coming btc poker sites.

Objective here is to show some love to the sites that have been running freerolls and doing what they can to contribute to the community.

I propose that we meet tomorrow (Thursday, May 7 at 2pm EST) to play for an hour of low stakes at: Bitcoinpoker.gg

I'll be at the table during that hour, hope several of you can join ...

and perhaps we can make this a daily, or at least regular thing.

I promise to turn off my advanced soul-reading capabilities, and simply donk around a bit. Oh, and uh, if you see 'Occam' at the table, that's me.

Why Bitcoinpoker.gg you ask? Well, I they have a very clean site, software runs without a glitch, they have been generously running a nice 3-chip (0,003 btc)  FR every hour on the hour, 24/7, and withdrawals are prompt and seamless. That is COOL, and deserves a little love .... This is not to say I would intend to play there everyday, but we gotta start somewhere, right? That, and I got chips to blow there ... lol.

Hope to see you.

Ok, this is pathetic people. It is 2:30pm EST and not another soul has sat down.

Poker site owners be informed. Freerollers don't play ring games. There are very few of us who do ... exceptions among the crowd.

Now it is understandable, maybe intelligent, that Allincrypto and Bitpoker.io are apparently cutting their losses.

Ok Bluegamebits showed up for about 20 minutes and took 5 chips off me. See how easy that was. The rest of you missed out. I'm planning to sit again tomorrow, same time and same place. You are welcome to have a run at my stack.

I think you didn't read this post well otherwise you were knowing his username is ''Occam''. His intentions are good and I wanted to join him but I didn't had free time tonight. Next time in future will do my best to join this awesome guy to have poker with him.

That is what freerollers do they freeload and save their little 2-3 chips like their lives depends on it, it is crazy because it does not even come close to minimum wage if they won every freeroll. I stopped playing all sites except Betcoin because all the new sites are attacked by the freeloaders and as you have found out they never play anything else. I do have some chips on there though and will join you tomorrow if I am free :)

The funny thing is people have lives outside of bitcoin buddy and yeh someone had to wait for some dust 1 day and a few hours but it got sorted as soon as the admin finished whatever he was doing. For the record when this site gets going it is going to be one of the better sites around bitcoin. Beautiful looking site, the best out of the site that use that software including the one you cheer-lead for :)

Hi Sy, I see you around and I know you play.

I've been playing Bitcoinpoker.gg for a few weeks now and can tell you there are few dozen guys and girls playing the hourly 3mbtc FR every moment. Login now and you will see for yourself. Actually I play it less because so many people are showing up. Software and several withdrawals have been smooth for me, and that is from direct experience.

I'm going to try this game for a couple more days and then sit ring at another small btc site. I'm open to any suggestions ...

I'm a good poker player by the way and the OP knows me
I just go for the good action with the good traffic
and I play on the top 3 BTC sites not in only one site
I'm not sure if you want to discuss the quality of the site
but if you want I will

The last time I visited this site, there was noone literally no one on the ring tables and this is the state of many new poker sites. Not sure I might give this another shot today or tomorrow only if I see half the table full.

There are freerolls on this site and one more site I can think of but they're dominated by donks and it's not my style of play.

You are talking about the wrong site I think. There are always about 6-15 people on Bitcoinpoker.gg, because they churn the hourly 0.003 btc freeroll all day. There are 9 people logged in as I type.

I'm sitting at a micro stakes cash table right now, and for the next hour or so. Or until my chips run out, lol. You are welcome to join me.

What do I gotta do to get the ring players over @ lucky flop indamuck? Gather up a time guys and I can myself watch you guys and give 100% rake back for that hour or we can do flat 5mbc an hour if you guys are playing in a decent game(over.5/1) and that way the game matters and your going to make 5mbc an hour. I'm willing to do that.

Actually I intended to start this at Luckyflop ... but if you look at the date, you were down that day. That was the only reason. Anyway ... it is kind of a chicken-or-egg deal. Players attract more players. I'll start sitting Luckyflop more ... you've been overgenerous and deserve the action ... that, and I got unfinished business with Jorjito!

Seriously everyone, Luckyflops does deserve the action. Admin got a good mix of games that allows one to parlay up from freerolls, to GTDs, and offers larger freeroll entries for raked hands on cash tables.

You'll find me there, and everyone knows I donk something aweful ...

This is important, I think: You had that ugly downtime, and nobody b*tched about it, because they are so happy there. I don't know if the BTC poker community will grow, but everyone sees your genuine effort, and they keep coming back. I'll sit more, and see if we can't get some momentum ...

You know what it is, I build this site not to profit but only to one day break even and offer the best Promos and play on the site one day and to see lots of people there. I think the BTC community will grow. BTC is not going anywhere and I see more people are turning to it daily. I'm seeing BTC ATM's now where people can go buy BTC from ATM!

I'm playing 0.03-0.06 limit Hold'em with four other players at Luckyflop.eu

With each raked hand we get a 'Lucky Point' which can be used to enter Freerolls. A couple of the players are collecting points to enter a 50-chip freeroll that starts in about 30 minutes. Cash games and premium freerolls, a great combination I think.

For beginning cash (ring) players, the limit format is ideal because you are never at risk of facing an all-in shove. Come join us, and give it a try!

So, if you check out the original post here, you will see I've moved this ring action over to Luckyflop. We had 5 people sitting at our 6-max 0.03/0.06 mBTC Limit Hold'em table earlier today. Seems the cash tables are building some momentum here, and I like that the same old donkeys keep reloading and coming back for more. Come sit for for a spell sometime, have a run at my chips!

Tip for future, matters not how bad a player is keep your opinions to yourself at their standard of play. They may well be guys who have gone there from this thread which would be really good of you to talk crap about them after you have taken their money, called respect. How much did you win the hole of 10-20mbtc>? lol

Be careful Bigfish (Luckyflop Admin): The btc poker community has gotten so used to handouts and freebies that once you dangle something you'll never hear the end of it.

Anyway I'm more a broads 'n blow kinda guy, at least my imaginary online persona ... lol, so we'll take a pass on the pizza.

I could not care less about a hand out because unlike you I don't sit playing micro stakes thinking I am the don of poker. Admin had a good idea and I let him know it was a good idea because I don't care about the freebies you want, please admin give me a few pennies rake back or extra chips ;D

In case you never read his post you would have been exempt unless he felt sorry for you and dropped the stakes to micro (your level). Anyway as I clearly said admin when you are ready drop me a pm. Thanks. Take that back won't be putting a cent into this site.

You could have it over 2days and on the second day the top 5 players qualify there are ways around it but you don't want to buy 20 pizza for people playing just a few hours and then never to return to your site.

Yes it would need planning so it doesn't get abused. Of course if the guys don't deposit then they can't play the stakes to qualify for your plan. Maybe a games and rounds thread will help draw attention to it but only publish once you have planned it out.

As outlandish as it sounds, somehow I think you'd find a way ...

I'm just happy to have a regular game. :-)

what I would do is buy reloads/credit cards and order pizza or reload your CC to keep anonymous if you choose and order your own!

I would join you guys but how would it work luckyflop? 'some' might/will get the pizza and stop playing   >:( have a set time before any ordering takes place, maybe a set amount of rake paid? You could have it over 2days and on the second day the top 5 players qualify there are ways around it but you don't want to buy 20 pizza for people playing just a few hours and then never to return to your site.

it wold req. a little of planning . get a some guys certain time, bigger stakes .5-1 and i order u guy pizza or put the money ($10-$15 for 15 guys on a card for u to order) guys gotta really deposit and play thou..

Yes it would need planning so it doesn't get abused. Of course if the guys don't deposit then they can't play the stakes to qualify for your plan. Maybe a games and rounds thread will help draw attention to it but only publish once you have planned it out.

If anyone knows me by now, knows I'm a man of my word… so i will let you guys figure it out and my budget is set $150.00 for food for 4 hours for a 12-15 guys to play a decent limit game. lets get some NICE size ring game going….does anyone on this thread play games around 1mbc and 2mbc blinds anyway, i would even to .5/1 just to start it off and try out this promo. we can start by picking a popular time.. like what ever time is good for the majority….??? sunday 3-7 pM ?

Look at your own online stats and you will know when is most convenient for everyone. I'm happy to play the larger stakes, but I have a strong preference for a full or near-full table. How we get there I am not sure. Getting HU or 3-way just becomes very volatile. Most any table of six or more players, I will sit.

When I was playing in China, all the cardrooms in a particular city compete for the same pool of players. If everyone show up at Room A, then Room C might not have a game that night. So often certain rooms will text everybody: 'First three players to show get 10 Big Blinds to play.' Of course if you show up at an underground poker room in China and take free money, you're gonna sit for a couple hours at least, as a courtesy to get the game going. Otherwise you might piss somebody off ... lol. I don't know what the online equivalent would be.

Previously I suggested you recruit a 'pro' like plo8monster who is prepared to sit all day, all stakes, at your cash (ring) tables. You might think about that again and start casting around for someone. I know at one point Satoshi Poker had 3 pros who were staked by admin. Then, two of them purposefully donked their chips to friends so it didn't quite work out. But there are ways to make it work I think ...

You can pretty easily go on gyft or cryfter and buy virtual gift cards to papa johns/pizza hut/dominos using bitcoin and then just give the codes to people.

I saw OP moved the meetup to luckyflop from bitcoinpoker.gg.  Unfortunately, I've never been able to get luckyflop to work on my debian install.  If you guys move back to bitcoinpoker.gg, I'd definitely like to join in!

I am sure the 1-2 would be to much for some on this thread including myself but would be happy to play some .5-1 games and see if we get enough players join to fill it up, we should fill the tables before you treat us to the pizza.

I have no doubt you are a man of your word as you manage a legit site without any problem all this time. What timezone is that 3-7pm you are thinking about? Do you play these small stakes (small to you) and will you be playing with us?

Bitcoinpoker.gg does have a nice feel to it but there is no promotions and it is very very quiet, OP did try there for a few days by the looks of it without success. btcpoker.gg will be one to watch in future if they do some nice promotions to attract players.

While the real world has kept me busy a bit these couple days, every time I've checked into Luckyflop there has been some action available on the ring games. Clearly people are playing in order to collect 'lucky points,' which allow entry to the larger freerolls running throughout the day. This afternoon I used a few of my points to play in a 10 chip freeroll that paid out 3 places and had only 7 people play. Well, it was actually closer to six, if memory serves, because someone just kept shoving early in order to triple up or go home, and they were sent packing right quick. So this is my go-to spot for some quick ring action, often when I just have 20 minutes or so in between other commitments and such ...

Also, I could be wrong, but I think I spotted a weak bot sitting low-stakes from time to time. The bots I've run into tend to play weak-tight, and one can just hammer them all day on a short-handed table. Anyway, I could be wrong, but this one was consistently donking chips, and not just to me. Have yourself a run at the tables, come back and tell us if you think you spotted the player I'm talking about ...

I still haven't gotten the luckyflop client to run on my linux computer---any tips?  There were about 4 of us in a ring game for over an hour on bitcoinpoker.gg today.

So I played cash table for about 1.5 hrs last night ... I remember having a nice game with acidtripaces, and a couple other opponents. We were playing at Luckyflop. A couple points I want to make guys, for those of you who like to sit at ring game from time to time:

There is regular ring action at Luckyflop - you can find it most anytime. Yeah, its not humming like the busiest rooms, but there is consistent activity, and people checking it. This morning I saw a full 6-seat table playing .05-.1 PLO.

**This I tell you on the down-low, on your sacred promise that you don't start begging. Admin at Luckyflop has been known to spontaneously put little gifts in the accounts of players he sees playing cash games, particularly during the off hours. It pays to play here guys. That, and I've generally found the crowd/atmosphere to be reasonably civil, and very fishy. Again, begging doesn't pay. Playing does.

Bring your game, give it a try ...

I'm getting "sorry we do not accept players from your location".  I'll try again with tor-browser in a bit.  I'll have to see if it lets me sign up via a tor exit node (does anyone already have the answer to that one)?

There is like 5 states you can't play on the site now.. NJ, NV, and 3 other states that specifically say gaming is illegal etc… so those states we blocked, are you in those states ???  But you would get a pop up that says your IP is in a restricted law state.. ???

So, I'm not playing much lately, but sat NL Hold'em for a couple hrs today at Luckyflops (LF). Found about 3 opponents and donked about 4 chips. Cool thing is LF will pay you 5 chips/hr (max 3 hrs) if you notify admin in advance, and grind for the whole period. So after my 10 chips I should be up ~4 chips for the effort. Lol .... and I got about 100 'luckypts' that are used to buy entry into the larger freerolls. See you at the tables ...

That sounds cool, but I can only fill one seat myself .. lol. Our best shot would be to get everyone to play after they drop out of the 500 chip freeroll on Sunday. We might be able to get a full table then. Better if everyone plays a cash table and the tourney at the same time? We could try ...
