Title: [ANN] NODEX [NODX] POW/HiPoS - SHA256
Post by: nodexcoin on June 14, 2015, 09:52:31 PM

UPDATE YOUR WALLET

ABOUT

NodeX is an "everybody" friendly crypto-currency. The design of the SHA256 coin rewards people whom stake through a higher POS reward (300 coin reward) and not only those who have access to massive mining power during POW (10 coin reward). In essence, NodeX is a low POW reward, high POS reward crypto-coin. The requirements to set-up a masternode are very "user-friendly" as well and designed so all have the opportunity to create their own masternodes (only 1,000 coin is required). The low requirements for a masternode should be viewed as an opportunity for all walks of crypto to engage, participate, and learn.

SPECIFICATION

ALGO: SHA256
POW: 3000 blocks
POW reward: 10 NODX

Block space: 60 Seconds
Diff retarget: 15 Blocks
Maturity: 50 Blocks
Stake Min Age: 8 Hours
HiPoS: 300 NODX
Stake Reward: 100 NODX
Masternode requirement: 1,000 NODX
Masternode reward: 200 NODX

After block #6000 the HiPoS reward drop to 1 NODX.

WALLET

Updated on 16-jun-2015 to fix masternode and lower HiPos reward at block 6000

Masternode reward: 200 NODEX

is it generating a new coin for the masternodes, or is it taken from the 300 stake reward?

This is for an upcoming in wallet feature that we was testing and forgot to remove for the launch, we will post a white paper on that soon.

Thanks

Its seems that the new update is making the compile to fail, this is the update  https://github.com/bitcoin/secp256k1/commit/210ffed5cd27540263ae4df904b46a51f6ad2c91 so you need to use an older secp256k1 without that update

We plan on bringing a decentralized file sharing system to crypto, which will utilize the i2p network to provide anonymous access.
Users will populate the files they would like to share, and set the price in NodeX coins, which they will then communicate to the masternodes.
Downloaders will then have a tab in their wallet which will allow them to search for files, and download directly to their wallet the torrent file from the masternode.
If there is a charge for the file, the wallet's download tab will ask the downloader to pay the right amount of coins before the downloading initiates.
File samples will be free of charge, but cannot be larger than 2mb.

Total pow coins= 30000  ???

Masternode reward = 200 and staking = 100 that makes average of 150 x 1440 blocks/day = 216000  ???

If my math is correct the inflation per day is insane  :-\

That is incorrect. 300 x 1400 blocks/day is the correct one. If no masternodes are up, normal stakers will get 300 coins, as soon as 1 masternode is up, stakers will start to recieve 100 coins per block when masternodes are taking 2/3 of HiPoS reward, which is 200.

Still having this error even after compiling secp256k1  :-\

are you using the latest update from secp256k1 ???

Well i'm cloning it from https://github.com/bitcoin/secp256k1

Its seems that the new update is making the compile to fail, this is the update  https://github.com/bitcoin/secp256k1/commit/210ffed5cd27540263ae4df904b46a51f6ad2c91 so you need to use an older secp256k1 without that update

Thanks ! Effectively it was better with an older version  :) Still going through some trouble with leveldb but i'll get back to it when i have some spare time ;)

virus total doesn't always mean clean it can have custom virus inside it. you need to always use a sandbox.

So basically what you're doing here is rewarding yourself, who was able to mine blocks early and able to mine the high reward before you kill it at block 4000, is that correct?  Seems to me the only person this favors is yourself.

Bad move.

Some coins take longer to mature than others. Usually 2-10 hrs but it may be longer depending on how it was coded.

You need to move that back to block 8000 at least. A lot of people mined early like myself when the cost of mining was very high. To ROI, we count on masternode payments making up for the very high mining costs. People mining now are mining cheaply. It's forgiveable that masternodes don't work if you fix them because we all make mistakes, but cutting the hipos period is completely within your control and is going to screw very early adopters at the expense of relatively enriching your own holdings.

an update is coming in next hr or so to fix the masternode and also to lower the HiPoS reward after block 4000 to keep the supply low.

You need to move that back to block 8000 at least. A lot of people mined early like myself when the cost of mining was very high. To ROI, we count on masternode payments making up for the very high mining costs. People mining now are mining cheaply. It's forgiveable that masternodes don't work if you fix them because we all make mistakes, but cutting the hipos period is completely within your control and is going to screw very early adopters at the expense of relatively enriching your own holdings.

early adopters already in rich list they will stake much more if do not cut hipos
if you was late this is your problem sorry

I was mining a few minutes after launch and very aggressively. I had a masternode ready about 4 hours in, but the dev couldn't even clone working masternodes.

So basically what you're doing here is rewarding yourself, who was able to mine blocks early and able to mine the high reward before you kill it at block 4000, is that correct?  Seems to me the only person this favors is yourself.

Bad move.

95% of all new coins lately are from devs who instamine and dump immediately. They usually link back to c-cex. The devs put nothing into cloning the coin, dump on the market and a week later post about some phony personal problem that causes them to abandon the coin.

This coin has every red flag. 1. shitty clone job, 2. decisions by dev to screw the miners, 3. broken English that suggests another c-cex scamcoin.

I've already spent money on this. I'll be watching the masternode list. If the dev runs his masternode for a long time without making a release for it, then that's another red flag.

Meh, I support your opinion for certain coins but it doesn't seem like one of them. Reason? Because there are no early huge block rewards... But c-cex being scammer, hell, I support that with all my heart!

The game here was to be one of the early stakers. The dev took care of that with the instamine. Early stakes with no competition is where the early huge block rewards are.

The dev just came up with the filesharing nonsense to explain away the ftp client he built into the windows wallet, probably to hijack dat files.

This is not good if there is ftp access to your home computer in the wallet it might be able to take files and inject them into your computer giving you viruses or worse, stealing wallet.dat sensitive information or otherwise. I would avoid this completely.

SIGU is not fudding don't make shit up. I'm on both coins and what ever I as a holder of each say, they are my personal views. Yeah this is the NODEX forum and this guy shilling other coins should not be permitted, don't start things.

About NODEX:

The only two surprises here are the masternodes malfunctioning - which all late comers should welcome instead of whine -  and the reward drop which is still in time to be controlled and it is being taken care of.

But it seems there is always a need to complain for whatever reason, if there is none, one should be made up.............. Fudding for whatever reason? let it be something reasonable please.

What's funny is how you guys think the first project to do something is all the market needs, and their product is going to be the best.  Take portable mp3 players for example, or smartphones, the first ones didn't do as well as the later devices that were marketed better.

I like getting the full 300 coins from staking rather than having to share. However, I despise that the wallet does not close fully when I exit it. I have to go to task manager and manually stop the process. Wonder if we will ever get the new wallet that will patch things up. I guess when the dev stated an hour or so, it is now so... I am starting to feel the Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt about this one. That's what I get for going whole hog into something just because I was bored.

I saw the same, but if you leave it for around 30 seconds it will close
looks like is just slow

P.S. From task killing one other coin with similar issue I corrupted my wallet.dat and lost all the coins in it, so make sure that you have backup of your wallet.dat

I've had it happen on a few coins. Usually I just wait it out. takes a few minutes. Killing the task forced me to redo a whole new wallet and blockchain read with saved wallet dat. Just wait it out until the dev improves the wallet cone.

Of course they don't work. The dev is an incompetent scammer. He probably has sell orders stacked up at yobit right now.

Anyone who buys this shitty coin is a bigger idiot than the dev.

The dev can't fix simple problems. If you buy this shitcoin on the exchange you are just giving your money away to this incompetent dev.

So you lost because the masternodes didn't work and you couldn't take advantage of the "early miner bonus"...... that's three or four pages of you on and on about how shitty the coin and the dev is. why are you still here?  . Take everyone down with me? The situation can be saved: working masternodes and some other signs of competence from the dev. But this guy spent 3 minutes cloning a coin where the only thing different were tools to hijack user files or implant viruses.

He made one commit that changed 5 lines of code and didn't fix anything and still hasn't satisfactorily explained the file transfer server in the wallet.

I'm going to keep posting every 5 minutes on this shitty virus coin until there are no more buy orders on yobit. Then I'm going to post every 15 minutes.

People better move your coins to yobit quick. Block 6000 fast approaches, and we may get to experience more surprising "joys" from this coin. I must say, the ineptitude on display here has given me so many belly laughs, it's "almost" worth the BTC I spent on hash to help birth this monstrosity.
