Title: 2012-09-21 YT - EverBank CEO "We're interested in seeing where we can step in"

Toward the end of interview, in fact here:

Frank Trotter, EverBank CEO

http://EverBank.com

Says he talks to Bitcoin developers

He appears concerned with "gaming the hashes". A valid concern, considering his position. Still, this is miles from how Bitcoin was perceived last year.

This.  Massively significant interview.  Trotter is a historically smart guy, and Everbank is a well-known, well-respected entity within the hard money & alternative investment community.  They were the first institution in the USA to offer foreign currency accounts/CDs, and would be a natural candidate to be the first to offer BTC-denominated accounts/CDs.  It's a fantastic revelation (better than Gavin's mythical September announcement?) that he knows about Bitcoin and is actually thinking about products and services around it.

This clip and the Turk interview are extremely bullish leading indicators: if Bitcoin gets on the radar of private wealth managers as a portfolio diversifier, that means demand of potentially billions of dollars.

Stars are aligning.  Hold onto your coins.

We're going to witness a small transfer of wealth from the older generation of gold bugs to a younger generation of bit bugs. It'll float a lot of boats. And there won't be a damn thing anyone will be able to do about it. :)

This is great news, but that's the problem. Everyone is just "waiting for the point when they can step in", but no one would actually make the first step.

Why would no one make the first step?

I'm particularly interested to hear the theory since first steps have already been made.

Everbank were one of the only banks Ive ever seen that offered Icelandic Krona CD's. They were paying 12% interest, I think. That was before the crisis. But clearly Everbank are not afraid of the more exotic currency products.

Nice idea. I thought also in a video compilation using all the interviews, something fast (5-10 minutes tops), just nice bits, mixing questions and answers from the videos.

It will be nice to see everyone who ever talked about Bitcoin (Gavin, Amir, Max, Roger, Erik, Stephen, Jered, Falkvinge, Matonis, Nefario, Brito, Trace Mayer, Charlie Shrem, Moreno, Turk etc.) in one video. The power of editing!

It's a big work (hours of material, calibrate sound and color levels etc.), but nevertheless interesting job.

Toward the end of interview, in fact here:

Frank Trotter, EverBank CEO

http://EverBank.com

Says he talks to Bitcoin developers

in my words, he tries to figure out if Bitcoin is unbreakable and if they have the proof they will step into. but then it's to late because everyone tries to step into at this point.  ;D

Completely agree. If he waits until this point then he will be way wayyyy too late. There is a element of risk in any investment. You don't make the big bucks by being a lemming. Once in a while you have to step out on the ledge and take a chance. Just make sure it's a calculated one. I personally believe bitcoin is well calculated risk.

here's mine:

Due to CEO Frank Trotter's recent interview here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yB7NVVRraw#t=13m50s

There is a great demand among Bitcoin user's for EverBank to add Bitcoin as a currency they can trade through your service

Bitcoin as a currency has been in use for 3-4 years without hint of anyone 'breaking' the code.

It's transaction history is documentary by every user and their processing power builds the 'blockchain' storing all the history. No one can make up their own coins because no other node in the network would accept it because it is fraudulent and where it came from is not documented. One person can lookup where coins from a transaction came from to verify them.

I sincerely hope as many people as needed  at EverBank and looking and working to include this digital currency in your service; others looking at it as well gives a big opportunity for the first major mainstream bank or exchange to grab a significant market share and customer base by being the first to do so.

Thanks
