Yes, although every time it's stable, the more it'll go up eventually. :)

I suspect a small rise throughout the day because of this.

Hmm, doesnt look like :(
I guess its not as spectecular as everybody hoped and not too bad to cause a correction of overly inflated expectations. So basically,
some positive medium-long term effect, nothing immediate.

Yep, reflects my feelings when I saw the announcement.  In the best case I though some micronation government somewhere announcing acceptance of BTC for tax payments, in the worst case I figured it was going to be some nerdy new feature added to the reference client.  The foundation is somewhere in-between.

A stabilizing or positive influence in the long term, if they can do good proactive PR and defuse scandals and misconceptions.

;) Kind of if you talk about the current set. If you look into the future though, a save income makes it easier for new creative minds to fully commit their time to the project. Apart from that, Im in support of the move but also sceptical of the influence the "Platinum" members may have on the devs. I think no dev should be part of their board, rather in a supportive role.

Also to ease out the dangers of The Bitcoin Foundation becoming for Bitcoin what Julian Assange has become for Wikileaks, I hope that we will see more of those foundations in the near future, so what this particular one says or does cannot bring down the reputation of the whole project as easily (they sure have good intensions but no one is immune to scandals).
