World war brews in space between China, US and Russia

THE most damaging war the world has ever seen could be about to start. And it won’t happen on Earth.

Three leading superpowers: Russia, China and the US are reportedly developing, testing and deploying sophisticated weapons in outer space in advance of a military attack that could see the first great conflict between sparring superpowers in 70 years. A conflict that Popular Science described as “A New Cold War in the Void of Space”.

And there’s no rules in this free-for-all space race. Rogue, cosmic cowboys reign supreme.

While physical damage on Earth would be minimal in a space war, our entire way of living could be at threat.

I think that we are in an undeclared, Cold War, for decades, namely from 1945.
Some call it undeclared third world war
There have been enough political wisdom to avoid open conflict between the major powers and all conflicts since 1945 were only local.
We can only pray it stays that way.

I think that the threat comes from the Islamic state in Syria will start the third world war

It is better they carry out their sparring in Space, rather than on Earth.
There aren't enough countries who have a presence in space for this to be called a "World War".

It is better they carry out their sparring in Space, rather than on Earth.

Even if they carry out their battles in the space, the effect will be felt on the earth. Internet, TV, Cellphone connection will be disrupted, and people will get killed by falling space debris. But yes... it is definitely a much better option when compared to having 99% of the earth getting converted in to a radio-active wasteland.

One thing that most people don't understand is that space war could literally kill the human race. A lot of people hope that some day we will be able to escape this planet and inhabit other worlds, and at the rate the population is growing, we might have to if humanity is to survive and not just collapse the ecosystem under the endless demand for resources.

The only way humans can inhabit other planets is if they can travel past our atmosphere and orbit. If there are satellites blowing each other up and creating random debris everywhere in Earth's orbit, then it will become impossible to fly any kind of spacecraft outside of its orbit. Furthermore we would not be able to maintain communications, GPS, internet connectivity, Television, etc because all of these systems are heavily reliant on satellites which would also take damage from the debris moving at different velocities.

Anything up in space would just be ripped apart by the space junk left over from such a conflict. When China did some of its most recent testing of anti-satellite technology, this was one of the main reasons protests that were raised from the scientific community. Because of this, if we have space war we might literally be damning ourselves to living out humanity's last days on the ever shrinking resources of this rock, even if we actually develop the technology to leave.

No one cares that people are heading in ways that can rip Earth apart. CERN is continually going, to further science, knowing full well they could cause a black hole that makes everything disappear over night. People are apathetic when it comes to stuff like this.

I've recently read something about a group that wants world peace (http://beforeitsnews.com/new-world-order/2015/08/new-world-order-foundation-threatens-world-governments-to-do-their-bidding-or-else-major-push-for-world-peace-and-disarmament-4970.html?utm_campaign=&utm_medium=facebook-share&utm_term=http%3A%2F%2Fb4in.info%2FhmjS&utm_source=direct-b4in.info&utm_content=awesm-publisher) by force, and one of their tactics would be to blow up satellite stuff too. No one thinks of the consequences of what they do anymore.

[…] Note that these additional terms are not ad hoc or hypothetical, but rather an unavoidable consequence of a quantum description of the contents of our universe. Also, since it is well known that Bohmian trajectories do not cross [19,20], it follows that even when 𝜃 (or ȧ) → −∞ , the actual trajectories (as opposed to geodesics) do not converge, and there is no counterpart of geodesic incompleteness, or the classical singularity theorems, and singularities such as big bang or big crunch are in fact avoided. This view is also supported by the quantum corrected geodesic deviation equation derived in [10], which suggested that trajectories can never actually access infinite curvatures. ⁴

The fear of endless population growth is receding. Already in the developed world as well as China, the fertility rate has fallen below 2. Africa and other parts of the developing world are growing fast, but they will stabilize as well. So the earlier fears of food wars breaking out seem to be misguided.

Colonizing other planets is not that easy. The technology needed for doing that might not appear within the next 200 or 300 years. Also, you should understand that the nearest inhabitable planet (which is similar to earth) is dozens of light years away. And the current technology only allows us to travel at a maximum speed of 30km / second, which is 1/10,000 of the speed of light.
