Besides I like "stable" prices. Title: Re: I drew lines on a chart. Post by: Foxpup on October 22, 2012, 01:29:01 AM The long term trend consists of straight lines on a linear chart? Guess we're all doomed, then.
Title: Re: I drew lines on a chart. Post by: mobodick on October 22, 2012, 04:34:03 AM I think you're one trend behind.

Title: Re: I drew lines on a chart. Post by: herzmeister on October 22, 2012, 10:29:32 AM You drew a lot of lines. Which one is the long term trend? ???
I still believe there wouldn't have been a crash, at least not that massive, had it not been for the MtGox incident. I still meet folks who believe "Bitcoin was hacked". Lots of "investors" back then didn't really understand Bitcoin yet, and just followed the herd when everyone was selling. Title: Re: I drew lines on a chart. Post by: Mushoz on October 22, 2012, 11:31:29 AM Okay, so lots of nice looking lines, but what do they mean? Will the price go up or down in the short/mid/longterm?

I'm not saying it is forever. Title: Re: I drew lines on a chart. Post by: Spekulatius on October 22, 2012, 01:20:22 PM Seriously Mucus, the only two lines that have some informational value are those two:

Come on Mucus, you can do better. (or worse, seems like how serious you take this whole 0 evidence speculations). Title: Re: I drew lines on a chart. Post by: DoomDumas on October 22, 2012, 03:25:23 PM more love for logarithms please! Indeed, I go for Log chart too, much more representative of reality ! In linear chart, price doubling looks like bubbles, in fact, on a log chart, price are much more realistic when big varation occurs ! see.. Linear : Wow, a bubble and a crash !!! http://s13.postimage.org/tppevm9cj/image.jpg (http://postimage.org/image/tppevm9cj/) Log : Ok, some reasonable variation !!! http://s15.postimage.org/78f67ocdj/image.jpg (http://postimage.org/image/78f67ocdj/) Very different ! You all still think of the parallel lines as pointless? https://i.imgur.com/Ey1BR.png I realize that "lines on a chart" has limitations, but it isn't supposed to exceed those, at least for me. For something better there need to be rigorous methods. Title: Re: I drew lines on a chart. Post by: mobodick on October 22, 2012, 06:54:15 PM Same method different timeframe.
