Another documentary that spends the whole first half discussing money, what it is and where it comes from, is 'Bitcoin: The End of Money As We Know It'.

Im not sure about the solution these guys propose (resource based economy) but it's definitely worth watching. Nonetheless, Bitcoin is an objective upgrade compared to what we haven ow.
