Price of bitcoin hits $300 for the first time since July, i hope increase than more. At now appx. 303-304 USD.

This is good news :) Hope to see btc price rise up a little more and stay stable, last year's trend is the other way around. Price go down as holiday season is coming.

The bitcoin price is not going to overpass 320 USD in the end of this year,
the temporary increase value is most probably due to some big whale enter the market
now due to low confidence in the banking system now,
when FED announced the increase of interest rate,
it means that economy is returning to a positive growth state.
more probably the big whale will return their temporay cash into banking system.

I will advise people not to wait the price to increase anymore, it will be steady(around 290-320) until end of 11.

It is not the first time this year. The problem is the trend. It will be something durable in time or only the usual up and down seen to many times this year. But for sure it is a good sign. It is not the low price which has dominate all this period in which bitcoin have been almost stable but the high. Good signs for the halving.

Yes. If i remember correctly when i first started with bitcoin around mid 2013 price was $500 plus range.

On one hand the coins I've been hodling are going up in value.

Good news for OP (and everyone in here). I woke up at 308 dollar per Bitcoin. Some idiot just took a big dump and sold a lot of it just right now. The price is nonetheless holding strong at the 300 range. All those guys selling their stacks at 300 dollars thinking it will go any lower will enter on a severe depression state in the following months.

I agree. About as equally depressed as my friends who didn't take my advice to buy even a single satoshi stating 'the market is crashing' or 'it's a pointless currency'.

Post bubble I will have to focus real hard on not looking smug all the time.

Yes per the analysis $300 level was a big resistance but bitcoin cover that price with ease with the help of new money flow to over come the profit booking pressures. But now it seems chines are buying more proactively, i fear they may dump also in single shot.

You can hope that this elevated price excites Bitcoin users and causes more trading. Hopefully that lets it stabilize for a while. I'm okay with something around 260-280, I think.

I'm with you on this one.. We are rising a bit too fast at the moment imo, no big corrections have happened yet.

After that painful correction, I'm expecting some serious bull run to start. Probably back to 400-500 by the end of the month.

Your opinion is great, but the fact is nonsense. It's unlikely that a "whale" is driving up prices due to the Fed announcement. First, the Fed announcement to raise rates has been anticipated for over a year so the effects on the market are essentially priced in. It indicates positive growth in the market, which would not instigate a flight to bitcoin.

What's more likely happening is people buying into bitcoin because the price has been stable and people continue to see the value in the currency. Slow and steady is a great way for this thing to grow...

The highest I see today was 312.x on preev.com. I am tracking the Bitcoin price every time I log into my computer. It is good that Bitcoin finally reach the 300 USD mark again. I hope that it will stay at this upward pace.

Yes, it is a roller coaster riding, in bitstamp days high is $309.9 It means, almost $310 is reached. I fear this may be a pump and dump from Chinese and Australians. A slow and steady stable price rally will give us more good things than this kind of quick progress.

If the price stays stable above $300 then we will most likely see a bull run to $350 and maybe even $400. The sentiment right now is amazing.

That is my biggest concern.Since a few days I'm a bit nervous to check the price in the morning with apprehension being fallen back under the $300.

I believe we may see Bitcoin rise slowly and steadily as more and more peeps use it because they have lost confidence in their governments or fiat in general. In Greece now it is getting more popular for sure and more shops are taking it which is a good sign I think personally.

What do you mean you don't understand why? There was about 10 bullish news in the last 10 days. Just this morning came out that even Chinese officials are buying coins, which is hard to believe, but anyways. Them you have a news that Chinese are bypassing their capital controls with Bitcoin. Then Gemini, EU rulling, possible halving effects, etc.

This thing is just at $315, has broken $300 with an authority and continues climbing. This seems as a real deal!

a month ago or so i dropped €400 in kraken, bought 1 bitcoin for €193, left the other €207 there in the hope i could buy some for €180, I was too greedy and regret, that €207 is still on kraken unspent, waiting for a good price to buy, but I'm pretty sure it will never hit €200 again.

My new target is €275, but I have a limit at €300, if it hits €300 it will just buy at market price to prevent the same situation from happening again.

Checking the monthly chart of bitcoin there is a huge jump about hundred dollars.

We are climbing since more then 6 weeks now. We had many positive news.The chinese exchanges make the pace and all the other follow with a lag.Hope we do't run out of steam.

The latest resistance as a ceiling was 317.19 in Bitstamp, which has been broken effortlessly with the new 321 limit. Therefore, that big psychological barrier has been broken. For the first time in month we've reached a higher price. Now the doors are open toward higher floors. But of course the panic selling guys will dump a bit every 4 or 5 hours.

Right. I read these news articles somewhere and also on some threads chinese officials unofficially give their heads up on bitcoin. I just hope chinese whales won't be dumping huge volumes all at once or else price goes down.

The initial huge increasement is due to sudden increase demand in the chinese bitcoin exchange platform.
I wanna ask, if u see people trade in chinese platform, can u assume that they are chinese doing the market now?
According to many coindesk, the bitcoin has increased from 279.36(24/10) to 332.08(30/10) with a 19% increasement.
The increasement is most probably due to mmm scam in china, if u know chinese you can google it.
But the mmm is a pyramid marketing, it need time to attract and ask people to join, if u check again the increasement percentage from day to day,
the increasement isn't increasing sharply,this is contradical to pyramid marketing, if mmm is really boosting its potential, so i advise pls be careful.

These orders might not be filled easily. You need to put the buy orders a bit higher to have a greater chance.

The price is unpredictable. I will still hold my coins tight. The bull market just started. The bitcoin price has been around $220 for too long.

This bump has a huge Effect on the mining market. I though it was dead when the price was at about 220-200$ - with the sudden increase, I finally can make profit again :)

This is the really good news for all the bitcoiners, this increase in the price of the bitcoin should remain stable for some time, then there will be chances of hitting 400$ mark if the price keeps on increasing with same speed. 

Yes, It will be better to hold the bitcoins rather selling it to book some profit. If the bullishness continues with the same constant speed then there will be chances of touching the next mark of 400$ very soon.

it is called cooling down the technical indicators. From the TA point of view it is good to make some pauses between the increases or even small pull backs and that way the growth is much more sustainable. It would be better for this to happen now, as this way we could move a bit higher from where we are just now by the end of the year. Let's see if there many late buyers that woke up late and now are waiting for such a pull back.

I think it makes sense to wait for pre-Christmas rally in January, too, because the Chinese New Year in February. The previous high was in 1280 fiat usd at mt gox ......

I would thread cautiously as well. The best indicator should be coming during the few weeks ahead which should give us a signal whether this increase will be sustainable. It will give us a hint on the direction that it is moving towards. If it continues to go up, we should see a breakthrough that will bring us to a new high and support level.

I agree. Fomo buying is almost never good. I learned it the hard way with BTC and some alts in late 2013.

Yes it is,and it seems that we will be touching sub-$300 again. We'll see in the next days. Hard to jump on conclusions, though, seeing that it is weekend and we all know the market is kinda gloomy and lazy.

well it was expected, those pump that rise so slowly, or in the same range, are there because someone want to, there are no fresh money involved, a bunch of nerd traders are playing on the market

It's not losing steam, is yet another correction. Look at Bitstamp and notice the 296 peak, then the 278 correction. Correction happens all the time. Now is when daytraders and whales that didn't buy in yet get nervous and wait for a perfect price, then it shoots up again. Give it like 12 to 48 hours.

Actually, it was fun to watch those sell-offs at Kraken and Stamp earlier, only to be bought up again. :D This run needs to rest for a bit, I guess. We still have the momentum. I just hope it don't overshoot and maintain a stable price first before moving upwards again.

We need stability then everybody would be more relaxed. Jumping to conclusions doesn't matter too what it does at the end of the day.

It increased to $328 and now it has decreased to $320. Following the trend, it will again reduce to $250. However, I am happy that it atleast reached $328 which was looking impossible few months back but now $350 also seems reachable.

I am afraid that you might be right unfortunately! If we break $300, it will be dumped all the way to $280 in my opinion. It seems that the buy pressure has disappeared completely.

I like that too. Get some resistance neir the 300 region. Then steadily flirt with the 350 USD barrier and eventually bypass 400 USD. In 2016 with the halving we could see a 500 USD worth of BTC.

That is also my opinion. In order to have a sustainable and a long-term rise you need to cool down the TA indicators. As long as the correction does not exceed 20% that is fine, and that is much better than a continuous rise without stops. In that latter case, after a sudden rise there is usually a sudden drop, which may be good for day-trading but is not good if you look in a longer time-perspective.

Correct the same pattern will arise (back to 220-2240 usd), which would be terrible for the simple fact investors and holders can't maintain any uprise.

I also think same as you, news about this decrease of interest rate thing was all over media 1-2 days ago. I have also sold almost half of coin and hoping this rise is only temporary one and price will again go down to 240-250$ mark where i can buy all my sold coin back with some bonus coins. ;D

The point is that how much you have gain in this rising of bitcoin. By using this profit, you generate other profit if possible.
Whether this increase is caused by people or nature, the price can't predicted so soon, as the economy of  us and europe is still in a steady state without sign of strong positive growth. without the QE in europe, we can see a slow steady grow, while china, is keeping their currency down.
So, more investors are going to keep their currency in high value things, bitcoin is one of the alternate choice. So, it is hardly to see the price go down so soon.

If I were holding, I would sell now and aim to rebuy wherever it bottoms out around mid January.

You seriously think in January next year the price will go lower than it is right now? If you are indeed serious, then you are going to get very disappointed by then. It makes sense for the price at that time to be (much) higher than the current price. Since you have nothing to sell as you aren't holding, you won't face this problem :)

Well, everything is possible. The build up for the price of the latest ATH (1200 USD) was very, very subtle at the beginning, with a curvature that started getting really steep at the end of the month. I am trying to find the exact price of every single day of november during the 2013 buying rally and will make a thread now.

Can you explain some of your trading strategies then? His was strictly based on speculation but I'm guessing your trading stategy will be largely based on speculation too.

This price increase is pretty ridiculous. It rose from 300 this morning to around 360 currently. Still rising without a roof.

I simple check the chart in the coindesk website.
And there is still low price, at the moment $336 maybe a bug in their API.

You better time it right since the price looks like it will fluctuate tens of dollars in just tens of minutes. It is incredibly volatile right now. IMO you should wait for it to level off a bit before selling any Bitcoin or buying stuff with it that is linked to a fiat price.

As it is shown, bitcoin will go at 300 us dollar again. So, definitely seems that this last rush of bitcoin was another bubble of it. Unfortunately bitcoin seems the same currency as it was, regarding its volatility. Go high and then come back at the beginning point. This is bad. As it is shown, we must wait yet to much time to see it as a matured currency. How bad !!!  :(

The price has been around $320 for 3 weeks now. That is a good consolidation after the recent pump and dump of bitcoin.

IMO a stable price until the next reward division would be nice. It would show that bitcoin is gaining stability and that the demand is steady (price not going down even if new BTC are mined every day).

Yes all bitcoin now should have is the stability on its price. Stability will show that it is being accepted or getting used by many people rather than only some big whales doing market manupulation.

Yes of course a stable Bitcoin rate is always good, wouldn't mind it if it would hit $400 again this month, but I'm not complaining.

Check out graphics, you can't say stable when its price is changing every week, no exceptions. There isn't any other currency that volatile in the world financial system right now.

The current price is quite high. Compared to last year it was a great year for bitcoin. So much increase.

that is in fact good news but nothing to celebrate there as we are all aware of the past trend this year which has been so disappointing. it increases then decreases. I want a straight line up without decreasing and then I will be happy that as a bitcoin community we are heading somewhere.  I at least hope that by the end of the year it will have increased more.

It's interesting to look back on where our sentiments were only late last year--sorry for sort of necrobumping this thread but it's useful occasionally.  We're up $100 from when this was written, and that's a pretty steep rise.  Hopefully 2016 has more good stuff in store especially with the halving (though I think it's priced in, I'm not sure).

Dump to where? I think price is powerful over 300$ band. The biggest dump would turn back from 300.01$.

I think the bitcoin will never go below $300 again. Even if it goes below it, it will be just a flash crash.

could be, but at this point everything is possible. if you want to benefit from flash crashes then you must set low buy orders. it may take quite a long time before your buy order gets triggered, but eventually it might happen and you'll make a good profit.

$300 will be a history, just like the $200. We will never see that again in the future. The price will rise a lot in the future.

It's like to happen. Likely for in less then a month or so. Maybe 3 weeks we will see the price back around 440 dollar. I can't explain why but that 440 dollar has some magic into it. I really like it when the price is there. So close to 500 dollar.

I would say the same thing, but the year has just began as we are at the third month of this year.
It has not moved much since end of the last year. But until the halving starts we won't see much major transition in the price from now till then.

I think we have already seen $25 drop in last 10 days, bitcoin was around $430 in last week and today we are experiencing $405 price, So it should rise in future, and it should not go at least below $400.

the bitcoin really surpasses the $400 but there are still situations where the price is pulled down..but all is good I think... the price dip is just right, its just mean that it needs more in more support to go stable in high price, otherwise, it will collapse specially if everyone  keeps on pushing it to go high...

I really don't know what future holds for us, but as for now its above 400 and that is the good sign for us, lets hope that it will continue to rise even in future as we have high expectations from bitcoins.

When the price is holding above $400, it will give users more confidence. But the price will depends on the general usefulness of the coin.
