Dustdice.com (http://dustdice.com) is in need of a new logo! Dustdice is the visually stimulating twist to the classic dice game. To build on our visuals, DustDice is looking for an experienced individual to create a whole new logo for DustDice. It will be displayed on the home and FAQ page, as well as at the top of the game page. The logo will also be used for banners, signatures, etc. so please, not too detailed. Simple is good, but stay creative.

Place #1: 0.1 BTC
Place #2: 0.03 BTC
Place #3: 0.02 BTC

The contest will end in 4 days, on the 1st of November at 12PM EST.

Keep in mind, the logo shouldn't have anything to do with "dust" :D. We are looking rather to have it based on the visuals of the game.

I like it, but you shouldn't be able to see a 1 and a 6 at the same time. Opposite faces sum to 7.

Honestly I think this one is awesome. It's just one thing. Are those dice icons you got off Google? I was hoping for a little chart icon including red or green dots, etc rather than just dice. Otherwise I like it :).

Nice. Just, again, a smaller size please. Also, I prefer it to not have a background. And last thing, the icon could possibly be emphasized more.

Both images looks to be same. You only added a chart on those dice which looks very bad now. Actually the placing is bad.
And to prove you actually didn't used Google images then roll the dice in other positions and show you actually build that

So far nothing really stands out. I am not looking to give out $30 for you to write some text in Photoshop and add a dice icon beside it.

Im sorry my first logo isn't appropriate.
The average logo time I spend on a logo is about 2 weeks, looking at all the relevant information.

In this world unfortunately Budget / Time = Effort :)

When I design professionally, I look at the target demographic, the range of logos within that arena and
create a complete concise branding strategy. The design industry is a service based industry, the client sets a clear concise brief and then the designers design to that brief specification with minor tweak and sign offs along the way. I suggest in future create a clear plan of action, so that we know exactly what youre looking for. :)

I presume you like myself, are living within a western democracy where I don't have to prove my innocence. You need to prove my guilt. Why on earth would I google image search something when I have a full Honours Degree in visual communication and a 100,000$ dollar student debt shackle IF I could just scrap design school and google search things. Tut Tut.

Beautiful! I love it. But again, no white borders plz, I hate those :D. And besides the "D" is a little off on the dice, it's great!

What 2nd place  :o I can't believe this. This is totally unfair. 1st place logo seems totally poor than mine. Very simple and I don't think you will use that in your site. You will probably use mine
I also think snailmen is your second account or something like that to avoid giving away big amount

First off I'd like to say, me and the team did put in some hard effort comparing each logo side-by-side, considering not only the looks/effort, but how we can use it. I think 2nd place is awesome, you got 2nd out of dozens of competitors. Unfortunately, there's no way I can change the placements of the top 3. What I can do is give you a small bonus since your logo really was good. It's just so that there are lots of good logos, and only one grand prize. I think you should be happy placing 2nd, but I can understand where you are coming from.

As with 3rd, 3rd could argue his is better than 2nd's, etc. It' just how a contest works. You also have to consider the fact that everybody has a different taste. One logo might be awesome to one owner, while another not so much.

PM me the information I can get you sorted out, we are sorry to hear you aren't very satisfied with the placement in this contest. Maybe we can work something out.

Making someone at first place mean you will use his logo not mine. If you put me in second place then you have no right to use my logo in your site because you think my logo is just a noob design that's why you put me in second
And as i already told you I can edit that logo in whatever way you want then why you are saying I made some mistakes
And again if you made snailmen to first and me second then you have no right to use my logo in your site ever

Unfortunately we can only pay-out your prize if you want to submit your work. Although snailmen's has been decided as the main one to use, the other two are not only alternative's, but possibilities for the future. If you choose not to submit your work, it's the only way but to disqualify you from receiving your prize. I am not  interested in any conflict nor disqualification, so I'd recommend it's the best thing to submit your work. If you are angry about the amount you are receiving, PM me maybe I can work it out.

How much bonus you will be providing me ?

I will personally bump up your prize from 0.03 ($10) to 0.05 ($16+). This is a one-time exception since the competition was tight, and I do feel like you both (you and snailmen) deserve a fair prize for your awesome logos. If that is fair for you, please shoot me a PM :).

I couldn't believe your mis-shapen dice logo got into the top three at all. You should be happy with 2nd. It's better than you deserve.

The winners are of course selected by those who is running the contest and not by those participating in it. You can't really argue why your logo was "supposed" to get the first prize because naturally you would find yours as the best submission (unless you are a lousy logo designer like me ;D)
Arguing like that would simply make you look amateurish even if your logo was in fact very professional

I don't know if that's the reason or not. I'm pointing out that it's not very professional not to research the topic you are attempting to represent in a design. If I was a designer asked to incorporate a dog into a logo and my final design showed a dog with 5 legs, you would be justified in thinking I wasn't very professional, right?

Then, when someone pointed out for the 2nd time that dogs actually have 4 legs and I replied "Is this is the reason? I didnt See your post :p", would that confirm your impression of me?

Anyway, it's not a big deal. I'm just butthurt that none of my "professional" designs made the top three.
