One thing that I want to know more about: one can speculate on Bitcoin, simply buy buying Bitcoin. Are there any ways to speculate on the future of the blockchain? I know there are some startups, like R3CEV, but I don't know that any of them are publicly traded. Can't buy stock in them. How else could one make a speculative play on blockchain tech? Cryptostocks might offer you the opportunity to invest in a blockchain startup. I only know the name and don't know much about it, but it looks hopeful. https://cryptostocks.com/ Quote Cryptostocks is a Bitcoin, Devcoin, Litecoin denominated stock exchange/crowd funding platform. List projects ... Invest into projects. Some of the exchanges might also let little guys invest money into them. I know of various tiny exchanges that wanted investors, but they were all hacked and closed. I would stick to investing in the bigger exchanges that can survive a hack if you want to invest into them. I enjoy reading a good paper on Bitcoin now and then and 12 pages makes for concise reading the format is more advertisement than academic although it does talk histroically but its still was interesting nonetheless.
