Title: Bitcoin activist refuses to leave anyone out in the cold this holiday season! Post by: TheGr33k on December 01, 2015, 12:51:01 AM Hey everyone, it's TheGr33k! Remember the thread I made about Bitcoin merging with the fashion industry? Well, we're getting closer and closer every single day! Even though that's true, we wanted to chat about what everyone else is doing to promote!
My business partner and I have teamed up to create a small fundraiser called "Nerdy Knitties"! I'm sure you don't know since it is very brand new, but it's a small business that employes under privileged and out of work homeless teens and young adults from New York City homeless shelters to create Bitcoin related merchandise. She holds free classes where she teaches them to paint, sculpt, and stitch up adorable warm items such as sweaters, hats, scarves, blankets, mittens, slippers, and hooded scarves! Every handmade item purchased comes with a pamphlet explaining what Bitcoin is. We just started making hooded scarves! Since my business partner will be posting very soon, it seemed appropriate to showcase their new hooded scarf design! These are just progress pictures. It's not done yet! http://i882.photobucket.com/albums/ac28/Crystalqueeniebeenie/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20151130_191233_zpsfh1qegiq.jpg http://i882.photobucket.com/albums/ac28/Crystalqueeniebeenie/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20151130_191301_zpsjhgft5xn.jpg If you buy one on Bitcointalk, your username, public Bitcoin address, or custom message of your choice will be stitched onto your hooded scarf! Check out how soft the material is up close. http://i882.photobucket.com/albums/ac28/Crystalqueeniebeenie/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20151130_191247_zpskz00ti8i.jpg http://i882.photobucket.com/albums/ac28/Crystalqueeniebeenie/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20151130_191315_zpsvctqugpa.jpg Sorry for the filters. I told her not to do that, but you know how Instagram models are. Here's a pic that she didn't edit though. This was before she finished the headphone design. http://i882.photobucket.com/albums/ac28/Crystalqueeniebeenie/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20151129_220538_zpsopbbdvmt.jpg Don't worry gentlemen. Hooded scarves and hats with pom poms are definitely for everyone, so don't feel odd about wearing a pom pom. http://g01.a.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1YyJYJFXXXXcVXXXXq6xXFXXXl/Fashion-Lovers-Winter-Beanies-Cap-Knitted-Woolen-Pom-Pom-Hat-for-Men-Gorros-Hombre-Unisex-Skullies.jpg I will be flying over to Times Square pretty soon to help host our lovely fundraiser for our Bitcoin designer fashion line that's coming in 2017! We are really genuinely hoping this will gain tons of interest on Bitcoin from the fashion industry, so stay tuned! If you'd like to check out her previous hand knitted Bitcoin item, here you go! http://i882.photobucket.com/albums/ac28/Crystalqueeniebeenie/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20151127_151547_zpshn2jzuwn.jpg She's got a little more than this, but I can't just give it all away! ;) Now that my lovely business partner is available, we will be sure to do more BitcoinTalk related business here. So, what are you doing to promote this grand currency? Let's have a lively discussion, for it'll be definitely exciting! Season's Greetings to all, and to all a good night! Title: Re: "Nerdy Knitties" for Bitcoin! Times Square, here we come! Post by: Spoetnik on December 01, 2015, 03:40:43 AM This is ANOTHER topic you have made trying to sell your Girlfriends stuff. (both with hand made BTC sweaters)
I seen one in Off-Topic for example. And i have outlined how you are almost certainly sharing a bed with banned member codishmumu Nevermind you had sent me msg's that you know people threatening me, even after i told you leave me alone. Then you hijacked a topic of mine about it all.. claiming to be a concerned citizen ::) THEN i looked up your post history and it reeks of Card'ing fraud. Title: Re: "Nerdy Knitties" for Bitcoin! Times Square, here we come! Post by: TheGr33k on December 01, 2015, 04:21:20 AM [Butthurt attention whoring nonsense here.] I normally don't respond to your trolling since I know it's just free publicity from a human being that tries to antagonize other Bitcoin activists who are trying to promote while people like yourself just desperately try to tear down another's effort because they cannot come up with their own ideas. (Once you think about it, it makes no sense to attack a fellow Bitcoin activist that attempts to spread the word about Bitcoin in order to gain mass adoption and a price increase for the bitcoins you may or may not be holding right now). Since you've managed to make the very first post in this thread front and center, I might as well respond to it. To think you're still upset about me trying to bring awareness to someone who was sending you a death threat to the point that I had to "ambush" one of your threads is quite surprising. That was for the concern of your safety. Also, sorry but codishmumu is unbanned now. Check out her last activity, then check out this statement:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=784915.msg13098134#msg13098134 Also, she's not my girlfriend if I already have one. (Scroll to the part with the handmade jewelry). https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1253235.0 Also, I know you like to make up stories but....1. I bought my account so the previous owner's actions might be mistaken for mine and 2. If you're just gonna talk and not prove anything you're saying, then it doesn't make sense to even bother saying anything. http://imgfave-herokuapp-com.global.ssl.fastly.net/image_cache/1272333112858857.jpeg -shrug- Have a good day. While I do appreciate friendly hellos, try not to message me when someone is attacking you. I'm not always going to have time to defend a friend. Do not do that again. You're lucky though, because I do not like Spoetnik so I had to show up. Spoetnik is a troll that was probably sued for everything he has and that's why he is so very much angry all the time, and just wants to see everyone suffer. He reminds me how people like him mostly end up in that padded room where they get an opportunity to hug themselves all day long. Then someone had the nerve to compare MRKLYE to Spoetnik. The difference between them is the fact that one owns up to their mistakes and behavior and tries to fix it, while the other thinks he's perfect. Head to the Meta forum to see the lovely alleged lawsuit thread. Also check out that thread Gr33k posted. Cool! Since Spoetnik decided to be a six year old and ambush the thread, let's stay on topic: I'm trying to promote Bitcoin through coding, teaching Japanese for free, teaching relatives about Bitcoin, and even helping my professional baking sister make Bitcoin cookies. Really awesome, yes? Title: Re: "Nerdy Knitties" for Bitcoin! Times Square, here we come! Post by: TheGr33k on December 01, 2015, 05:56:24 AM Have a good day. it will grab a better demograph than woolly sweaters, and the design just looks better. hooded scarves are a new trend and definitely something the fashion industry will pick up on, so im glad to see your upping your game compared to the proposal you offered last month. Really awesome, yes? I normally do my best to attempt very Christian oriented work, such as performing good acts and roles for free. I feel that it is very important and overall necessary to truly grow Bitcoin. Most of the time, my work is mostly computer related. In this day in age, we must fight to constantly grasp every opportunity we possess to use the technology we have to explore possibilities and bold good heights. Most people do not have the same advantages as we do when it comes to technology. We do not have much time to waste it now. Before I forget, please tell me when that hat design is ready. I really do like it. I like how she made a headphone design on the hooded scarf. Young teens and adults will definitely adore this hat. Scam or not, it is still a good idea to involve unemployed street kids to do the work. I would want to see some proof of that to buy into this, with all the scam accusations flying around. The hooded scarfs looks nice and cosy. ^hmf^
If I do support this, I would want to see my money going to a good cause. Title: Re: Bitcoin activist refuses to leave anyone out in the cold this holiday season! Are you saying that you'd purchase a cool hooded scarf? Just remember that a phrase of your choosing gets stitched on and snapshot to you before payment. As for proving she employes "street kids", she will probably talk to the head of the shelters to write you a letter where you can call a phone number and speak to a representative there, and talk to the shelter's residents I suppose. But by this logic in terms of scamming, we could make up a fake homeless shelter, a fake number to call, use one of our close friends to pose as a representative and just get all of our friends at a party and pretend like we're having so much fun " knitting sweaters and hats" over the phone. Lol. Title: Re: Bitcoin activist refuses to leave anyone out in the cold this holiday season! Title: Re: Bitcoin activist refuses to leave anyone out in the cold this holiday season! Post by: Kprawn on December 01, 2015, 04:12:23 PM Did you go into the type of fabric being used to make this clothing? I hope it is wool and not some synthetic material. I prefer wool for the following reasons :
Wool is durable and long lasting. Wool fiber is unsurpassed in flexible strength. shape for a lifetime of use. Wool is absorbent and healthy. Wool fibers naturally draw moisture away from the body and can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without becoming clammy from perspiration, keeping you dry when sleeping. Wool provides comfortable warmth. Wool fibers are fluffy with tiny air pockets. Their loftiness and cushiony insulation keep body heat in and cold out. Wool is flame-resistant. Wools’ natural moisture content makes it non- combustible. A wool blanket will not melt or ignite into flames; an excellent safety precaution when sleeping or lounging around the campfire. Wool is dirt and odor resistant. Wool's microscopic scales hold dirt near the surface of the fabric, making it easy to remove at the same time preventing odors from being absorbed by the fibers. Some people struggle with allergies and wool is the perfect material for some of these people. Do you carry stock or do you create them as the orders are being placed? Post by: franky1 on December 02, 2015, 05:22:33 AM But you counteract me thanking you when you bring up something that I never suggested. Never. Ever. I never wanted to sell a sweater. At all. My friend is trying to help advertise Bitcoin by bringing it into the fashion industry with hand knitted items, just in time for Bitcoin sweater weather. She is currently selling on her brand new Etsy shop, and is currently trying to get bitcoins accepted on Etsy, so that will be a big step in Bitcoin growing. http://i882.photobucket.com/albums/ac28/Crystalqueeniebeenie/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20151107_172548_zpsurngie9m.jpg YOU NAMED THE TOPIC BITCOIN SWEATER. drama over you been outted, but calm down. lying and editing posts wins you no trust. lying and insulting reduces your reputation and your brand. so please put aside your ego and act like a businessman. now that is said.. lets just draw a line in the sand.. there needs no reply to the above.. leave it in the past and move on.. feel free to comment on whats below the fashion industry is ready for bitcoin, its "ripe for the picking" you have positively moved forward with a better product, the hooded scarf is in fashion, the demograph and consumerbase interest is larger and because of that i think you have a better chance. i hope you are having conversations with your business partner about how fast an average non-skilled knitter can make a scarf (the homeless you will employ) so that you can calculate a wage+materials=cost.. that way you are able to guess a retail and wholesale price. i say this because i have seen many come up with a good product but then price themselves out of competition due to labour costs. EG if it takes 10 hours and minimum wage is $7.50 then that has priced you out of being able to sell it below $75, which even for the fashion loving teenagers and the knitwear soccer moms.. is a high price.. leaving you with less consumer-base/demograph of people who are willing to buy. i know you will keep saying you are interested in the fashion industry, meaning you are not interested in the 'functionalwear' industry of cheap clothing at $1 that anyone can wear... but from the bitcoin point of view and to maximise the bitcoin recognition side of your business idea.. you need to be at a priceline that satisfies the highend you need to make your brand respectable. but not be too expensive that not many buy it and thus missing getting bitcoin recognized by the masses. are you thinking of hand knitted (the granny way) taking 3 hours-day, or machine knitted taking minutes? as i hope you have atleast done these calculations/tests before spending money on trademarks, domains. just to be sure that you are at a competitive rate BEFORE you start Title: Re: "Nerdy Knitties" for Bitcoin! It's like only pictures grab your attention, but the words written don't at all. So because I post a picture of a sweater, that automatically means I'm trying to sell a sweater....? That sweater doesn't even have the correct btc symbol. That's a completely separate trading item. I said she was selling it in her Etsy account, which she has every right to do. She can sell what she wants to sell without your approval. We don't care if you're interested in our items or not. She said she was gonna sell a sweater, but I never said I was going to sell a sweater, so stop bringing it up. I was just showing the sweater. Leave it alone already. You're extremely annoying, and I wish that I could just block you from ever posting on my topics. And no, I didn't name the topic that (exactly) at all. I tried being nice. So now I'm gonna do it this way: I don't care about your opinion. I didn't ask for your advice. I don't care about your advice. Please leave me alone. I tried so hard to make it clear before, but you honestly behave as if I care what you think. Just leave me alone.
