Something that hasn't really been mentioned is whether the site uses Flash or HTML5
These days I tend to avoid flash and look for casino's that support HTML5

I look at the way the site looks second I will be looking up some reviews, trying to find if someone had any issues with withdrawl and such. Second I would be looking if there was any support available, you may never know what kind of issues you can bump into while placing bets. You are indeed correct, but people may have different thinking. For some people giveaway to test out the site is a must but it is useless for some others. For people with low bankroll, giveaway will help alot in order to try the site without risking their own money. I think thats why he look for promotional giveaway when choosing a casino.
