Title: Mirrax's HIGH RISK altcoin investment guide for 2016
Post by: Conqueror on December 13, 2015, 09:24:10 AM
Ok, lets say you want to invest to something else beside Bitcoin.

Let me explain my strategy first. Of course you can buy some altcoin with
already huge marketcap, but such investment will be low risky and thus with
lower potential of so called "mental pump"

On the other side if you carefully analyze the situation and buy huge stake in
low profile shitcoin with good devs and scarce supply it might be a jackpot!
Or complete disater.
That's why diversification is very welcome and usefull.

Just for the record i will provide 5 tips with reason why to invest.
I will also mark today price so we can review in 2016 if my advice was
good or complete piece of shit.

A, ANONCOIN (ANC) 27434sat/coin*
- active development team
- full I2P integration
- working I2P exchange
- almost ready 0.9.6 wallet
- very low total amount of coins
- once they finish zerocash....boom
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=227287.0

B, EXPANSE (EXP) 3286/coin*
- ethereum clone
- low amount of coins, fair distribution
- DAO
- honest developer with long term vision
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173722.0

C, AURORACOIN (AUR) 8846sat/coin*
- new team working hard on Iceland adoption
- premine burned
- IS exchange launching
- very low amount of coins
- support in Iceland government through Pirate party
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1044432.0

D, NEXUS (NIRO) 364sat/coin**
- one of the most interesting coins
- developer extremely smart, write the coin from scratch
- dev also created real word companies to utilize the coin functions in the future
- unique in every aspect
- just listen to Colin:
http://youmeandbtc.com/bitcoin-podcast/nexus-creator-colin-cantrell-ymb-podcast-e102/
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=657601.2840

E, FEATHERCOIN (FTC) 782sat/coin**
- my favourite
- will be pumped just because of the chart
- besides it has one of the most interesting wallets packed with functions
- i expect very interesting news "soon"TM
- http://forum.feathercoin.com/

If you gain or loose on my advice ... I do not care.
You should not listen to me at all, I am mental loser who is going from one defeat to another.
Right?

* Today's Cryptsy price
** Today's Bittrex price

I would add UNO to that list, I think there will come a recognition for old solid nonscam coins like that. Maybe ppc xpm dash too etc.
I don't have much faith in brand new coins, only for extremely short term daytrading..

UNO is interesting coin, just I do not have much faith about Weiner.

Just for the record, coin B was just pumped to 8995 from 3286.
So technically technically this coin is success already and those who listened made decent profit.

But to be honest, I am willing to take this just as exercise pump and not really count it.
EXP has much bigger potential than that.
Thank you.

Tempting to buy, but emission model is so generous.
Maybe I will buy some later.

EXP is over man. This is 2015 not 2016 - are you living in the future?

I made this thread way prior to the pump. To be exact by Dec 13!
To be honest EXP surprised me a bit by pumping on Christmas dinner.
That does not make my call invalid or bad.

I have to add BitCredit (BCR) P2P lending, banking on the blockchain, a worlds first. The dev delivers new code constantly, plus he's a genius.

Currently severely under priced, currently trading around 180 sat with 23M coins in circulation, loads of room for a jump in price.

replying to the OP;
yes i wouldn't write off older coins like ANC and FTC just yet, alot of older skool coins have been under constant development and are evolving (quietly) to the point one wonders why people have even bothered with all the daily shitcoin additions to the community.

What a disappointing list.

Instead consider Monero, Aeon, and possibly a little Ethereum for your long shot 2016 bets.  Ignore the rest - they offer nothing compelling.

Monero and Ether are coins everybody buys.
Invest like 99% and get results as 99%...

This is for people who like more risk and bigger potential gain.

If you are talking about bigger potential gain, you are talking about your 'investment' (or let's be real - gamble) going 1,000x or 10,000x.  And what's your time frame?  Let's be realistic and say a few years.

Now I don't think there's any chance for an alt to go to 1,000x or 10,000x price without hope of mass acceptance.  What about the alts you posted would possibly lend credence that they might be mass accepted?

I think that the alts I mentioned *do* have a chance to do some ridiculous gains in the next three to five years, and not just because of the 'sell to the greater fool' theory.  If ridiculous risky is not enough for you (and Monero is ridiculously risky) then you can go for "ludicrous risky" with Aeon which is priced at about 1 cent each right now but could easily be worth $30 to $40 each by 2017/2018 if we face a crypto-takeoff scenario.

I am actually fine with 10x up within a year (EXP already did that)
To be honest I never heard about Aeon.

Take a look at SpreadCoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1045373.0

Currently sitting on a cap of $130K USD. Within a week, the lead developer will be releasing a revolutionary innovation (after over 8 months of work) that will allow decentralized applications be run on specialized nodes. The release, called "ServiceNodes" are coded from scratch, follow a similar structure of a basic masternode network (parallel layer to the blockchain), will help verify transactions, will require a fluctuating collateral based on demand, and will provide decentralized services within the blockchain, such as messaging, data mining, or parsing the world wide web on submitted queries (decentralized search engine). Its something pretty big, and this coin is a sleeper.

That pump brought the marketcap from approx. $30K USD to $270K USD. Now its back down to $130K. If I remember correctly, while I was watching it on Bittrex, I witnessed a complete buy-out of the orderbook below 19K satoshis, happened in under a minute (from 3k-19k). Then there was no buy support placed to hold the price up, so the guy basically allowed the price to go back down. I think you guys can draw conclusions by yourselves based on what happened.

I believe so. Look at the volume... when the pump up happened, volume was 77 BTC bought in under a minute. Then for the next 3 days, volume is not even 25 BTC in total- no dumping by the whales, or little activity.

im thinking a major anoncoin pump in jan/feb

As soon as they fix the 2 more bugs they will release a new version update with a innovative difficulty algorithm, its worth at least 2x-3x pump because of current low market cap, also craptsy stopped Anoncoin trading which automatically increases the price 35%. Because of craptsy withdrawal drama the price has been deflated. Its only uphill from here :)

Original is working on i2pd integration and Gnosis will finish Zerocoin (eventually). To the moon!

I recieved this from VERICOIN. Coin looks pretty pumpable with virtually no orderbook.
What you think?

Quote

Oh we have a ton of shit coming in 2016. Lots of "first's" for Digital Currencies.

Verium, which is a part of VeriCoin 2.0, is going to be crazy. Brand new protocol that solves some fundamental PoW problems.
3h 3 hours ago

But first - we're removing Sync Checkpointing 1.6.4. Will be the only DeCen PoS Digital Currency.

Then we're solving some Anon stuff with VeriSend 2.0 Almost everyone has a glorified "coin mixer".

There's a ton of stuff in the works. New Roadmap will come out this Wednesday.

When Doug gets back from vacation - we'll be opening a brand new BitCoinTalk and getting back to work. Probably open BCT on Feb 3rd.

I'm falling asleep dude. Up way too late.

Do not buy coins on Cryptsy.
Most of the coins from my list can be bought elsewhere and safer.

Thank you.

Besides EXP whch have been pumped recently, many of the altcoins you recommend have little trade volume. How do you accumulate these coins at cheap price if the volume is low?

Ok, lets say you want to invest to something else beside Bitcoin.

Let me explain my strategy first. Of course you can buy some altcoin with
already huge marketcap, but such investment will be low risky and thus with
lower potential of so called "mental pump"

On the other side if you carefully analyze the situation and buy huge stake in
low profile shitcoin with good devs and scarce supply it might be a jackpot!
Or complete disater.
That's why diversification is very welcome and usefull.

Just for the record i will provide 5 tips with reason why to invest.
I will also mark today price so we can review in 2016 if my advice was
good or complete piece of shit.

A, ANONCOIN (ANC) 27434sat/coin*
- active development team
- full I2P integration
- working I2P exchange
- almost ready 0.9.6 wallet
- very low total amount of coins
- once they finish zerocash....boom
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=227287.0

B, EXPANSE (EXP) 3286/coin*
- ethereum clone
- low amount of coins, fair distribution
- DAO
- honest developer with long term vision
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173722.0

C, AURORACOIN (AUR) 8846sat/coin*
- new team working hard on Iceland adoption
- premine burned
- IS exchange launching
- very low amount of coins
- support in Iceland government through Pirate party
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1044432.0

D, NEXUS (NIRO) 364sat/coin**
- one of the most interesting coins
- developer extremely smart, write the coin from scratch
- dev also created real word companies to utilize the coin functions in the future
- unique in every aspect
- just listen to Colin:
http://youmeandbtc.com/bitcoin-podcast/nexus-creator-colin-cantrell-ymb-podcast-e102/
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=657601.2840

E, FEATHERCOIN (FTC) 782sat/coin**
- my favourite
- will be pumped just because of the chart
- besides it has one of the most interesting wallets packed with functions
- i expect very interesting news "soon"TM
- http://forum.feathercoin.com/

If you gain or loose on my advice ... I do not care.
You should not listen to me at all, I am mental loser who is going from one defeat to another.
Right?

* Today's Cryptsy price
** Today's Bittrex price

FTC started similar way.
NIRO should be easier to pump as there is 4x less coins in existence.
Another words, same volume pump as in FTC case will put price 4x higher = to 60k/coin.
Interesting...isn't it?

Ok, lets say you want to invest to something else beside Bitcoin.

Let me explain my strategy first. Of course you can buy some altcoin with
already huge marketcap, but such investment will be low risky and thus with
lower potential of so called "mental pump"

On the other side if you carefully analyze the situation and buy huge stake in
low profile shitcoin with good devs and scarce supply it might be a jackpot!
Or complete disater.
That's why diversification is very welcome and usefull.

Just for the record i will provide 5 tips with reason why to invest.
I will also mark today price so we can review in 2016 if my advice was
good or complete piece of shit.

A, ANONCOIN (ANC) 27434sat/coin*
- active development team
- full I2P integration
- working I2P exchange
- almost ready 0.9.6 wallet
- very low total amount of coins
- once they finish zerocash....boom
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=227287.0

B, EXPANSE (EXP) 3286/coin*
- ethereum clone
- low amount of coins, fair distribution
- DAO
- honest developer with long term vision
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173722.0

C, AURORACOIN (AUR) 8846sat/coin*
- new team working hard on Iceland adoption
- premine burned
- IS exchange launching
- very low amount of coins
- support in Iceland government through Pirate party
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1044432.0

D, NEXUS (NIRO) 364sat/coin**
- one of the most interesting coins
- developer extremely smart, write the coin from scratch
- dev also created real word companies to utilize the coin functions in the future
- unique in every aspect
- just listen to Colin:
http://youmeandbtc.com/bitcoin-podcast/nexus-creator-colin-cantrell-ymb-podcast-e102/
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=657601.2840

E, FEATHERCOIN (FTC) 782sat/coin**
- my favourite
- will be pumped just because of the chart
- besides it has one of the most interesting wallets packed with functions
- i expect very interesting news "soon"TM
- http://forum.feathercoin.com/

If you gain or loose on my advice ... I do not care.
You should not listen to me at all, I am mental loser who is going from one defeat to another.
Right?

* Today's Cryptsy price
** Today's Bittrex price

Horrible picks. Especially feather and expanse. Are you sure you even trade dude, wow!?! You even spoke about Cryptsy, huh? Ppl actually still use this exchange?

Since this quote is exactly the same as what op said first page, It wasn't edited. (edited post doesn't change quote, look at my quote of your post).

The fact that you call EXP a fair distribution coin makes this list worthless. Its the same dev as old scam Franko, and 95% premine.

Thank you for valuable input.
Just for record, that coin went from sub 4k to 400k = 100x up on MASSIVE volume.
Check the chart...

BTW Christopher is one of the most nice person in crypto scene. Ethical developer. So throw your insults somewhere else please.

Thank you for making my point for me, it went from worthless to over $10 million market cap, because dev and friends pumped it to dump coins. I don't care if he's 'nice' he's a copy baste kid on his second scamcoin.

Thanks for sharing. I haven't gotten into buying altcoins yet, but I wish there were more threads out their and less trolls. I have less than 1 btc to play around with, but have earned all my btc either through faucets, faucet games, or signature campaigns so losing bitcoin really isn't that big of a deal if I buy a crap coin. Appreciate you're time and hope you consider sharing some more High Risk Investment suggestions.

Thank you!

I decided to add coin F!

F, VRC Vericoin
7000sat/coin (Poloniex)
very interesting plans for 2016 (talk to Jay Jay on twitter for more)
coin was just pumped, that's why I hesitated with this tip, but price looks ok to start accumulation now

lets see

VRC will be the next EXP.
Pump is behind the door.

And i decided to add coin G :)
G, LTC Litecoin
772ksat/coin (btc-e)

Sorry if I have this wrong, but here is what it looks to me what happened:

Kraken gave Mirrax 100000FTC to deliver as bounty for smart contract implementation. When the price shot up, Kraken gave direction to sell the FTC for BTC at 9500. Mirrax sold the coins at 4000 instead before it got that high. Now Kraken is asking for the funds returned and Mirrax is refusing to send anything (not 100000FTC, not 9.5BTC, not 4BTC). Is that correct? And are you the person making this decision to hold these funds? If so why? They were dedicated for smart contract creation, so the only person who should have a right to keep the funds indefinitely is the person who develops smart contracts for FTC.

Again sorry if I have this wrong, but what am I missing? What accusations are unacceptable?

If thats true then it just adds another layer that I dont like. If you are holding the bounty then Id think you should be a neutral 3rd party and not be eligible to receive it yourself. Not to put all blame on you, I also dont like that you were told to sell at 9000. If Kraken wanted to sell at that price even if only to increase the bounty by selling high and buying low) then it should have been done with other funds and then added to the bounty. The original bounty coins should have been kept offline on a wallet and not touched for any reason other than to pay a user for meeting the goals of the bounty or returning to Kraken after a set time has passed of no one meeting set goals.

Mirrax, I find it difficult to believe you are truly a scammer and hope this all is resolved soon. That said, Im not taking sides here as I dont like the way any of this was handled - by either party.

If this is true why have the funds not been handed over as yet? I was asked to provide a little support to the situation on the 2nd May, after it had been going on for some time prior to that, we are now at the 12th May still no funds, still no evidence that you still have the funds! You claim that my request of over 10 days does not meet with your schedule, yet you find time to poke fun at those trying to help you out of the situation you have managed to get yourself in.

Prove us all wrong and pay back the funds, we will make a public apology and life can move forward.  You have my word that funds paid into the BTC address you have already been given will be held for the bounty and no other reason.

SRY to my investment audience, but as they censor me on FTC forum, i have no other option left than deal with this stuff here.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@muddy:

It is not about enough time to make a transaction, that part is no problem.
I was thinking a lot about if this is right solution to situation.

After some talks with Mr. Wyrm it seems as digestable solution.

How about you hold the funds for the bounty and if nobody claim it before Christmas, than you send back to Kraken?
I promise i will not try to claim this bounty (not really to in the mood to do any work for FTC right now)

Of course i need you to un-ban me and remove the scam tag, when you receive the funds.

Yes, UIS have virtually no sell side... great for mental pumps, bad for accumulation.
Try to catch something from miner dumps (look into network status page might tell you how big that is/what is maximal theoretical daily dump from miners). Unitus dev is very skilled and have some good ideas for future, as i said, never saw such undervalued coin.

already huge marketcap, but such investment will be low risky and thus with
lower potential of so called "mental pump"

On the other side if you carefully analyze the situation and buy huge stake in
low profile shitcoin with good devs and scarce supply it might be a jackpot!
Or complete disater.
That's why diversification is very welcome and usefull.

Just for the record i will provide 5 tips with reason why to invest.
I will also mark today price so we can review in 2016 if my advice was
good or complete piece of shit.

A, ANONCOIN (ANC) 27434sat/coin*
- active development team
- full I2P integration
- working I2P exchange
- almost ready 0.9.6 wallet
- very low total amount of coins
- once they finish zerocash....boom
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=227287.0

B, EXPANSE (EXP) 3286/coin*
- ethereum clone
- low amount of coins, fair distribution
- DAO
- honest developer with long term vision
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173722.0

C, AURORACOIN (AUR) 8846sat/coin*
- new team working hard on Iceland adoption
- premine burned
- IS exchange launching
- very low amount of coins
- support in Iceland government through Pirate party
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1044432.0

D, NEXUS (NIRO) 364sat/coin**
- one of the most interesting coins
- developer extremely smart, write the coin from scratch
- dev also created real word companies to utilize the coin functions in the future
- unique in every aspect
- just listen to Colin:
http://youmeandbtc.com/bitcoin-podcast/nexus-creator-colin-cantrell-ymb-podcast-e102/
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=657601.2840

E, FEATHERCOIN (FTC) 782sat/coin**
- my favourite
- will be pumped just because of the chart
- besides it has one of the most interesting wallets packed with functions
- i expect very interesting news "soon"TM
- http://forum.feathercoin.com/

If you gain or loose on my advice ... I do not care.
You should not listen to me at all, I am mental loser who is going from one defeat to another.
Right?

NIRO  ;) ;) ;) 2k+ today
!!!

almost at 3k now :)

Yes, very nice, I picked some up at 1400 so I'm doubled on this one now. Nice for any that grabbed it at 364

Decided to grab a very small amount of your UIS as well but my god the volume on that one is very very low, makes me cry.

I managed to buy around 70k before you announced it officially in this thread, after that I got tired having to constantly move my buys and gave up. If you know somebody who is willing to sell a large amount for a fixed price below 50 sats, let me know :)
Yes, that is the "problem" with this coin.
Few messages can move price a lot.
Imagine what it will do when we go full mental with PR and development hand in hand  ;)

Badly, i do excellent entry point but mostly sell to early :)
(Sold EXP at 25k, went to 400k the same day, sold FTC at 4k and it went to 18k, sold AUR at 15k went to 100k...)
I really need to trust more into my own advice!

But i decided to hold and stake NIRO until we see Kurrent node broadcasting from low earth orbit  8)

Have you considered exiting only part of your position? For a start, you can sell only half of you coins, and the other half a bit later.

Was gonna say the same thing. Although I would sell 2/3rd's, and let the last third run, with a SL at break-even, and let it run for a bit, moving SL up every 10%.
The 2/3rd's helps a little with the psychology of losing/winning trades, more so with 50/50, personally.

yeh, i do this all the time too.
Generally, i take my first investment+some profit but never all of it. So, if i buy 0.01 of one coin,it doubles price, i'll sell enough to get 0.01+20% and will keep the other part to a possible new pump.

the numbers are just an example :P

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I really have to tune exit part.
Besides Niro, I have no real exit strategy prepared.

Meanwhile, take a look at:
UNITY @ 0.00270
BTCD @ 0.00190
OMNI @ 0.00250

all coins are very similar, low amount of coins, top tech, around 50ish place on marketcap

Any low-hyped, low-price coins you think are in it for the long haul?

This NEM rise has me regretting my selling @ ~70 sat....now I'd like to fix that mistake, and invest in some low-priced coins that may prove just as valuable down the road...

Thanks in advance ;)

I have less than 1 btc to play around with, but have earned all my btc either through faucets, faucet games, or signature campaigns so losing bitcoin really isn't that big of a deal if I buy a crap coin. Appreciate you're time and hope you consider sharing some more High Risk Investment suggestions.

Thank you!

I decided to add coin F!

F, VRC Vericoin
7000sat/coin (Poloniex)
very interesting plans for 2016 (talk to Jay Jay on twitter for more)
coin was just pumped, that's why I hesitated with this tip, but price looks ok to start accumulation now

lets see

VRC pumped over 20k on polo today.
Massive volume.

Another already great call.
You are welcome!

dead coins are best opportunities man....
EXP below 5k, NEXUS below 500, FTC below 1000 that all was considered dead

I bought MAID just because of chart, it is not my official call just a quick note of what i did.

I am very happy with what unitus will be.

Conqueror,

I thought about your unitus theory of buying dead coins and yeah it kinda makes sense . The potential rewards could be huge for a small investment. Did you look at krpton and also dlisk. Coins could be dead in a month or could rise very quickly due to tiny market cap. Dlisk has a marketcap of $30000  ??? .5 btc investment and you control more than 1% of the coinsupply  >:( it's crazy enough to be worth a punt

That's much harder than buying dead coin ..... the mistery here is how to pick the good dead coin over 10000 of them ... fundamentals and good nose, yes conqueror must have both

Thanks for the tip. I will look at what that coin is.

Peercoin? Price looks super tempting but i need to get familiar
with actual development.

I am glad you guys ask questions about coins but it usually take me bit
of time to properly analyze the coin. But yes, peercoin is definitely
worth to take closer look.

Yes.
It means one more test closer to actual launch of cubesats.
Nexus will have network in orbit when finished.

Colin and his father agreed on that setup. Nexus and Vector are symbiotic projects.

Ok but is the success of nexus the cryptocurrency tied solely to the launch of the rocket? What happens if the launch is delayed for years or is not successful? So far the main selling point of nexus seem to be that a satellite for nexus will be launch in space, which is unique I admit but is there anything else that sets this project apart?  :)

I own a little Niro, I watched videlicts video so I  believe in this project but I need to rationalize why I need to hold my investment  :)

Yes, the coin itself is unique and with LOT of revolutionary features.
The orbital network is only one part of Nexus future but very interesting one.
Not only it will be tremendous PR for Nexus, but it is also very meaningful project.
Come to Nexus Slack to learn more  ;)

You know, I was believing in this project since it was less than 500sat.
Now the price is 7000sat.
And I did not sold single one yet.

And this is because fundamentals are so good, but also because I personally know some BIG investor.
They have same opinion as me, hold long term. They are in Nexus Slack. Good guys.

Hey! I am very glad you find it useful.
FTC BTS looks very good to enter, i think about buying some as well.
I am also looking at GRC.

VRC i sold during the first wave of ICO, above 15k. Time will tell if this was good move or not.

Ok, now for Nexus we have FB adds and marketing TOP specialist.
That guy made 12m USD last year selling fucking hair irons and combs on Facebook.*
And he used to work as hedge fund top trader for many years as well.
He now has admin rights to our FB and will start doing what he knows.
He is also heavily invested in Nexus and holding long term.

Also lot of stuff developed by Viz (main dev) this year we start releasing soon, in waves.
There will be trust math update for more easy staking and most importantly he is
finishing low level protocol, the very effective core of the coin.

That is one reason why actual wallet is so slow. It is so different from any other BTC/LTC clone
that it was very complicated to make it work with current BTC style wallet architecture.
But this is about to change.

What do you think of SYNX - Syndicate?

Emission model looks acceptable.
Only listed on small exchange.

Did you asked the dev why to buy this coin?
If so what was the answer?

No actually I didn't ask. I bought it because the developer just works actively without making promises, and it seems popular among traders. And no premine either. It was 300 sats a month ago. Also someone invested 30 BTC 2 weeks ago and brought the price to 21000 sats before settling to now 3000 sats

Conquerer you seem to be a big fan of this project, why? Is there a rational reason why is project is special, apart of saying the dev is a genius? He might be but we can't judge that can we?

Yes, the coin itself is unique and with LOT of revolutionary features.
The orbital network is only one part of Nexus future but very interesting one.
Not only it will be tremendous PR for Nexus, but it is also very meaningful project.
Come to Nexus Slack to learn more  ;)

You know, I was believing in this project since it was less than 500sat.
Now the price is 7000sat.
And I did not sold single one yet.

And this is because fundamentals are so good, but also because I personally know some BIG investor.

Your prediction for 2016 was good as all of the coins managed to double their value if you are not greedy and hold for higher gains.
I am interested to see how your 2017 picks are when the price of bitcoin keeps rising. I wonder which coin can rise higher than what bitcoin does.

You are referring to 1y old thread.
The purpose of this thread was to pick coins with potential mental moves.
And it already happen, in 4 of 5 picks.
