It brought us the blockchain and its first use-case. For that reason we will always have and love it. However, it is saddening to me that the community as a whole has been so uninterested in working with "altcoins" that offer real innovation in order to make the entire space more robust. For instance: bitshares has bitUSD (much less volatile), 3 second tx times (which will go down as more users and volume require the witness pool to be expanded to more), is largely unlimited in scaling capability and has separations of power built into itself in its own governance model. The only thing we sorely lack is amazing developers and people who realize we can love bitcoin and also use and test technologies that aid in the advancement of bitcoin and crypto as a whole. |
