I recently got spooked by the lack of an active Litecoin developer and sold my measly 6,000LTC. I'm glad I did as the market has dropped since then.

The last code commit from Coblee was 6 months ago.

I want to believe in Litecoin but I find it hard when it appears that it will no longer be maintained by Coblee. I would love to hear from Coblee as to what his plans are, if you're reading this Coblee then please let us know what is going on. Perhaps others can pick the project up from where it is but the longer we wait the further Litecoin gets from the Bitcoin code base.

LTC can bounce like a super ball when buyers take over. Run counter to the herd or get whipsawed.

it's simple:

BTC block reward halved, LTC mining became 2 times more profitable than BTC.
 that caused a real rollercoaster od LTC hashpower, and a lot of BTC-only miners ended with a lot LTC on their balance, so they dumped it all.

Now its stabilized at almost 1:1 profitability, btc-only miners returned to btc, and LTC miners that left, are those who believe in ltc and hoard some, not selling everything.  now LTC will return to "natural" cryptocurency behavior which should be [don't have to] slow steady rise side by side with BTC.

also, I'm not the only one knowing this, some smart speculants knew it from the begining, and helped to drop by speculative sell - they talk about it open text in BTC-E chat and this forum. welcome to capitalism.

Normal alt crypto behavior is pump and dump. LTC has not followed this behavior.

Until ASICs actually hit, there's no real reason for LTC mining to be more profitable then BTC mining.  Hence the price correction.

well , most "alts" are not cryptocurrencies, but cryptoscams. i believe LTC is not.

Each crytocurrency is different.

I normally do not comment on accusatory posts, but the trend of new, low post count posters is driving me crazy.

Freicoin is too new and still being debated. As such I find it impossible for anybody who is honestly interested in a true evaluation of the coin to have come to a INFORMED decision  yet.

Or are you just making baseless accusations, with little to NO knowledge of cryptocoin economies?

This is not aimed at posters who have experience in crypto currencies who publish opinions based on reason with evidence to back them up. I respect all views and in fact welcome them when they are thought out.

But when one simply states,  "well , most "alts" are not cryptocurrencies, but cryptoscams."    I have to wonder what the hell was the point of even posting.

 When PeePee coin hit prime time LTC dropped. I'm not suprised It's dropping again. I call it ADD coin for that reason. Everyone bitches about it when a new coin comes along... but look who's bitching about it! It's the individuals who stop everything for the new coin. they rack in the new coin with crossed fingers and toes under some idea that they are going to be filthy rich early adopted users of the coin.

meanwhile I still invest and trade in LTC. I love it I have no desire for the new breed of coins. I don't want to be filthy rich because honestly I don't want the fucking stigma. I'll soon enough get that way without being greedy about it.

Go invest some coin on LTC global for Christ sakes. push it around as you would BTC.. The more It's used the more stability it has am I not correct?

The coins you mention as scams have been long dead as they should be, thus proving the free market will root out bad coins.

Litecoin is just down because nothings 'up' lately. Whats the latest Crypto-innovation of late? Not much is going on to be honest. Crypto currency needs to always grow or people start screaming the sky is falling. People are making inroads with LTC, just slowly and quietly. We are still all waiting to see what ASIC brings.

 Jesus Christ....total fail of points being made. The big picture is pretty fucking clear here. as long as new alt coins are produced. pre-mined or otherwise. LTC will suffer the effects of it. everyone is guilty at some point of "pump and dump". it does harm the whole system. thus os why I on a personal level am only focused on BTC/LTC. NMC is a factor but It's goal isn't the same as the other two.

As a matter of opinion are the other coins a scam? My awnser is 50/50. Some developers care others want a name sake. Some want to put effort into it. they want to converse and make something of it. Others want something that can hold enough water to be worth enough BTC to make a quick getaway with a few hundred or more of what's working.

on and on we can go... but the point here is LTC is not dead. more and more it IS being used. because it dropped suddenly doesn't make it a scam. it makes it a victim of jaded individuals once like myself who thought... "Hey, I can mine this shit... trade this shit... and get more for my energy costs."

So really the scam question of the day is... who the fuck is the real enemy here? the guy that makes the 4th through umteenth level coin or the people mineing and tradeing the coin that's not even worthy of asswhipe?

This is partly good and partly bad, if its true. Hope people dont lose any money or they get refunded. I kinda wish they are scam but due to the fact that behind it are real people with their info publicly known, there must be something real
