Title: Spondoolies SP20 Cgminer failing Post by: Knyix on February 04, 2016, 12:07:07 AM Hello!, i'm brand new to mining and decided to pick up a few miners off of ebay just to check it out, and obviously since they were ebay bought, one is not functioning properly, hopefully someone will be able to help diagnose this issue

Do you have other SP20s running from the same type of power supply? Have you tried another SP20 on the power supply running this SP20 (bad) Is the hashrate set the same? SP20 will use much more power at 1500 ghash than 1200 ghash or better at 700 ghash once you fine tune her down. Where is the top part of your screen shot which shows the power in? - LEPA P1375-MA 1375W ATX12V / EPS12V Do you have other SP20s running from the same type of power supply? - Yes. I have another same model, with the exact same configuration running with the same model power supply Have you tried another SP20 on the power supply running this SP20 (bad) - Yes, I used the power supply of the normally functioning unit and it will only remain with the series of six yellow flashing lights which i am looking for the documentation on that now Is the hashrate set the same? SP20 will use much more power at 1500 ghash than 1200 ghash or better at 700 ghash once you fine tune her down. - Yes, they are both set to hash at the same rate, the configurations are both factory reset, with a pool and username information added Where is the top part of your screen shot which shows the power in? - I'm sorry i don't quite understand this question Title: Re: Spondoolies SP20 Cgminer failing Post by: quakefiend420 on February 04, 2016, 01:10:01 AM Have you tried plugging in the hashing boards one at a time to see if it will work with just one?
You could also swap the controller to a known good unit to see if the issue lies there. Attempted something similiar (i guess?) i just began disabling certain boards until it worked, i am trying to figure out specifically what asic it is to turn only that one off Title: Re: Spondoolies SP20 Cgminer failing Post by: philipma1957 on February 04, 2016, 10:14:53 PM Have you tried plugging in the hashing boards one at a time to see if it will work with just one? Attempted something similiar (i guess?) i just began disabling certain boards until it worked, i am trying to figure out specifically what asic it is to turn only that one off so you may have 3 good boards. if so try running at lower volts and do not shoot for ¾ 1400 = 1050gh try to get ¾ of 1200 or 900gh reasoning is some one before you ran the gear really hard. which for sp20s wastes a lot of power and kills off the gear faster. at ¾ of 1200 your lose of hash is small 150gh and may prolong life of the gear a long time Title: Re: Spondoolies SP20 Cgminer failing Post by: Soros Shorts on February 05, 2016, 02:40:14 AM What Power Supply are you using? - LEPA P1375-MA 1375W ATX12V / EPS12V This PSU is apparently has 6 12-volt rails. Four of them are 30A rails and these are the ones you should be plugging in to each of the SP20 PCIE connectors. If you haven't already done so make sure that you have identified these 12V 30A rails correctly. |
