i can see another pump before the halving, i'm not sure if it will be very high and set a new bottom or just break 500

i'm don't want to say that we will surpass the last ath before the halving, seems too far stretched

My vote goes to June 2016. I think by that time the Chinese pumpers have completed a large part of their work. And 1 week before the block halving I expect them to drive the price even higher. It will be more than interesting.

I go for May 2016 which is more than 2 months away from now. Plenty of time for the price to build up itself if everything goes according to plan.

That will not happen so that fast. Of course if you are now looking, you can see that the price is rising. But it doesnt happen fast.
I hope later that it will rise for a long time, so many people will have get some profit of it and that will be good.

Although we've been on a up and down trend lately and at the moment at $437 with 1% rise just for today, I voted for July instead. It's going to be needing for few factors at least to push it's value that up and can't see it reach $600 in less than 4-5 months since it has some sort of stop and go trend lately within different ranges.

I think you are right, its will happen for sure but it will take some time before it will happen, maybe in July but I think it will happen with the halving has been done.

I think we just have to be patient and stay strong, hold your bitcoins and just wait for the halving the 600 dollar range will be reached for sure.

Provably after july the price o bitcoin should be jump above 600 but before july its better to collect more bitcoins so that you can make more bitcoins when the price reach $700 i hope it will happen after halving..

I think this will also be around that month but its also hard to predict so we will see what happens when it really happened, we just need to wait till its really so far.
W

We should just wait and hold our coins till the halving has been done, I think that is the best thing to do.

Most people have voted for $600+ by the month of july. Users have supported it as the halving would take place by the previous month or by the month of july. At times if the price increases before halving also can see a stable value around $600 by july.

I voted for May as it is a period between April-July when we can really reach a high price if everything goes well. If we reach $600, it will be something positive and the price will mostly be stable at that price levels.

But if we reach $380 again, it can decrease by the end of July which I don't expect to happen ever but still fingers are crossed. Block rewards also will be a deciding factor.

I'd have to go with July, 2016. I'd like to see the price stabilize at a certain point($430~) first, before slowly climbing up. This we haven't been seeing for a long while now.

That is also possible. You never know what can happen. But you can see that the price is now rising slowly.
So that is very good for the people who made already an investment in Bitcoin earlier. But it can indeed happen.

july 2016, because of halving, it will rise price to 600$, maybe a bit less but still alot, would be nice to see 600$ at may but i don't think that it could happen so fast, since it's 430$ atm

july of 2016 of course, nothing will rise price to 600$, except halving, which will happen in july this year, i don't think thatit will rise price to 1000$ like everyone talks about, but 600$ is pretty realistic

I believe there are too many bitcoin beliebers here. how will the price go to 600 if there is so many resistance at 500 dollar.
It would take millions just to get the price to 500.

i am sure that the bitcoin price will be at least $600 within May in general, the block generating is too fast in expectation. in addition the bitcoin price is halving. bitcoin price will not be that volatile until the block halves.

Yes, we can expect that price in next 3 months that it will reach to that mark, as the halving is also coming so we will see slow and steady growth  in bitcoin value for next few months.

I think yes we can experience that price at the time of halving, as halving will have positive impact on the price of bitcoin, so may be by july we can achieve it or may be even higher.

There is a possibility that it can happen ofcourse. And I think that can also happen in the future, and that will be so good for us and Bitcoin.
But yeah you never know what can happen later in the future. But lets hope for the best thing.

There is also a halving coming indeed, and you can also see now that the price is slowly rising and that is also very good.

it can rise after the halving, none can say for sure that it will rise in 120 weeks or so like the halving date

don't look at litecoin, that is different, it was the first halving and the price was really bad

I agree with that. The halving is an event which has not bee trustworthy in terms of a guaranteed price rise.
The only thing we know is it that it will happen. And 600 dollars is a very very long road.

well to be honest you are most probably right about that though if ethereum started failing we might see a huge increase before halving too

the price is pretty unpredictable right now as everyone is just waiting so even though it is stable for a while we dont know what will happen tomorrow

i really doubt that the price will go up that much because of the halving, it might go up back to 500 dollars per bitcoin but not more in my opinion

i think that the 600 dollar mark is only achievable by the end of this year as more people start adopting to bitcoins

Indeed, I'm thinking the same thing but it still has to proof itself of course because the bitcoin itself is unpredictable if you ask me.
Its all a matter of time and I hope it will get to the 600 dollar by July.

my vote goes to May or June 2016
mostly because i think the rise needs more time for the accumulation phase and also there needs to be some kind of fuse to initiate the rise first in order to see it otherwise it can't just go up as much as we hope without any initiative.

we might not see the rise we were expecting for a longer time so i think the best time for price increase (the most possible date in my opinion) is around summer.

unless some new changes happen with bitcoin like the block size issue getting solved sooner.

well Christmas holidays are still the event that can make the price of the bitcoin grow as people will buy bitcoins in order to be able to buy some presents

Of course halving will have way more impact on bitcoin than the Christmas and I hope that the price of the bitcoin will grow significantly

"BTC will rise over Christmas" is an interesting variant on the "BTC will fall" theory that did the rounds last Christmas (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1282137.msg13203634#msg13203634). Back then we had 2 Christmas rises (2011 and 2012) and 2 Christmas falls (2013 and 2014). Christmas 2015 saw a ~20% rise. (http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/bitstampUSD#rg2zigDailyzczsg2015-12-01zeg2015-12-31ztgSzm1g10zm2g25zl)

People sell BTC for fiat to buy Christmas presents, people use fiat to buy BTC to give as Christmas presents, and many people don't celebrate Christmas and continue about their daily routines, buying and selling BTC as usual. Historically Christmas provides no clear direction - price could go up, or it could go down.

i voted May but there is really no way of telling based on the state we are at. and definitely not based on halvening because halving is not an event that is going to happen suddenly and change everything, the date is set.

i suppose the only thing that can change things is a fix for the block size

I have not voted for any of the months mentioned because i believe the price of bitcoin might not go up that high this year. i am fully aware of the hype that the bitcoin price is going to rise due to halving. Dynamics tell me that the price might oscillate between $400 and $500 for the better part of the year. This is something that will happen may be next year or so.

Definitely a few weeks or so before it starts. If it doesn't happen and stays where it is then miners will be turning their systems off and the halving disaster we all feared for will begin. Creating a halving for the 25mil bitcoin limit while there is over 100mil wallets isn't really a lot of bitcoin which means we need to be going up in storage capacity, not slowing it down.

Nah i don't think so. The effect of the halving is zero like it was zero last time. Zero in the way it don't affect the price. For bitcoin standards the halving itself is an important thing.

$500 is around the corner so it will be reached by the end of this month or the begining of the next.

so for $600 it will be either a slow rise withing 2 months or a rise which will get past 600-800 in two months time.

Nearly the entire forum is dreaming about the potential price increase due to the block halving. I believe there will be some sort of a price increase but not as much as a lot people here are thinking. We can expect the price to increase $50 to $100 from the price right now, and nothing more.

The reason why it was zero last halving was because people were still making decent money off of mining and were still able to support themselves. When this halving happens their profits will be in the negative which will force them to turn off their machines which results in a slower network that will cause people to get angry over and not use bitcoin. That will then cause the price to drop even lower to were our last resort Chinese miners can't even run and will be forced to turn them off as well before they go bankrupt. That's what a halving disaster means.

Before the halving would seem reasonable, I think there might be a bit of expectancy of a rise, which will cause the price to rise.
As they say though, buy the rumour, sell the fact, so in this case you should buy up until the halving, then sell as soon as it happens.

The price could well fall back donn straight after, when everyone notices that it made very little difference really!

Bitcoin is trending up. When will the price hit $600?
Please cast your vote and discuss.

I have submit my vote of July 2016. you know only one reason behind it, and it is Halving. i read most of the threads are here about it, but my answer is same. actually when halving will finish bitcoin will come in his own price, so if discuses about the changing of the bitcoin price daily, so that's all depend on halving. i really don't know what ever people saying about halving, but in my eyes halving is a big achievement to achieve your profit.

Bitcoin is going to be higher soon and that would be perfect because there are still a lot of people that is waiting for a nice moment to sell their coin.
But the bad thing is that you also dont even know what is going to happen in the future so that can be risky.

There is a chance that the bitcoin prices will rise to a higher amount this year but its still the question if it will hit the 600 dollar.
I think it will if the halving will be good of course it can even than reach a higher amount.

Don't expect miracles from the block halving. My guess is that the block chain won't get the price much higher than $500. And once the halving is done the price will start to tank to current prices.

It will takes a long time until the value will be more worth and that is because you also can see now that the Bitcoin is going to be more worth and now is rising slowly so that is nice.
But the bad thing of Bitcoin is that you dont know what is going to happen with it and when it is going to stop.

I hope that this is going to happen because it will be a very nice price for me to sell my coins. It is possible for the price to be at around $600 at the end of 2016.
If it does not happen then, then it should happen in the beginning in 2017.

most chances for price to go to 600$ is in 2016 July, after bitcoin block reward halving, people predict that price will go to new ATH then,so it will be larger than 600$

and if something bad will happen and price won't rise after halving, then i think that it will rise later, after random pumps and dumps, it will take some time but it will rise there anyway

I don`t think we can see this price before July, even then its a big question in my opinion.  My prediction is end of August, and that is I think very reasonable prediction. 2 months after halving is enough time to go on 600 $ and even more. My general prediction is that bitcoin will reach 700 $ until the end of the year.

We have nice wishes, all of us. So we need to wait and be patient for that. Normally we need to continue to work and spread the word about BTC.

Well nice wishes will not get us there. The price of 600 is very far from where we are now. The market seems to stop bitcoin whenever it comes to 450 or higher.
My guess it will not get to the momemt we will see 500 this year.

The price will be much higher next year and that is because Bitcoin needs a longer time to rise and it wont jump soon because it was already stable for a long time.
And the bad thing of Bitcoin is that nobody can predict what the value will be after some days.

so you think the price will rise only $150 and it takes it 2 whole years to rise that much? that is not true at all.

i think even if there will be no big rise (like they say to 1000,1200) there will be a slow rise and it will only take a couple of months in slow rise to get to $600 and surely not 2 years!!

I think it's more like wishful thinking to expect $600 prices in a matter of a few months. Maybe we'll not even get to see $600 in this entire year. Everything needs to be perfect. Demand, sentiment, bull run, and so on.

It might be worth considering that the halving will hopefully add value to Bitcoin through the publicity of the event, and not because of the actual halving itself. I think a lot of people might be willing to look into something like this if they start to see how Bitcoin appreciates dramatically over time, and how the value would naturally just keep getting pushed up.

$600 seems do-able by the end of the year, but I'm hoping for more people joining the community rather than just a price increase. We'll see anyways.

Not so fast, the price has still not reached the $600 level. Right now it's sitting at $580 which might make it seem very easy to reach $600, while in fact it's not easy at all. We might stay below $600 for another week or two.

Well the way I see it, I only see that exchange as alt coin exchange.

So anything promoted in prices for bitcoin - should be rechecked at an actual exchange that sells only bitcoin to begin with lol.

Also, I wouldnt want to take my chances there since I noticed people been having common complains of their lack of support.

To be honest, I was pretty disappointed when bitcoin hit $590 but just stopped and hanged around at the $580 level instead of climbing up till it's $600. However, I think that we should see it hit max. July.

But I think it is probable that it'll hit this week, even. Let's wait and see.

comparing to the time this topic was created July seems a much more reasonable time to hit the $600+ mark. and I still believe the mid July is the correct prediction for $600 and the way market has moved so far shows this too. besides there is not much left between current price ~$570 ish and the $600 mark.

Yes $600 has been passed now .its a great thing for us now and a good news that as early as now it happens .i will not expect now but i am waiting for the next awaited price mark up.

Nobody expected that bitcoin will reach there so fast and that is the reason people have now more expectations from bitcoin and everyone is hoping to see price of $1k at halving.

I don't think we will go to $1k this year. I pretty much can imagine the scenario in which we already saw the top for this year.

There is a small possibility for the bitcoin price to go to $1000 late this year. The SegWit might come out.

I don't think, we will go anywhere close to $1000, before testing $500 first. To me it is much more likely right now to see a solid sell off, rather than to resume further climbing.

well that would be really cool though i dont thing that the price of it might grow that much just because of segwit though i guess the time will show

While I agree that we won't see the price reach $1000 this year, I don't see the price go back to the $500 level. What makes you so sure of the price going back to $500? I am more thinking in terms of the price bouncing between $600-$700 for quite a long time.

I guess once the real correction starts (whales putting a selling pressure, not like now, a real one), the weak hands will join the game and start cutting the losses.
This may go as far as 20-30% from where we are now, thus my price target.

I think price reach by $900 at the year end. I don't expect any bugs in the middle and probably there is no chance for the price to fall below $600.

It would seem that the $600-$700 price range would be more realistic that dropping to $500 or going up to $1000.
There's really nothing we can do but wait and see what will happen.

Sure, it is really hard to have any educated guess when the next pump may happen. But I think some testing of the support after halving wouldn't be that unexpected. How low it can go, that is another question.

There is quite hard support around the price of $500. That is the mining cost of many small farms.

well, it looks like my call had perfect numbers and timing. We touched $480 on some exchanges. It looks like the scenario I was writing about unfolds. Let's see where we stop and how strong is the rebound.

That could happen. But I think after a few more weeks of consolidation, the price could rise again to $800.

$800 is possible but not in recent days and I think we need to wait to see that price and if everything goes fine then we may see that price at the end of the year.

I'm confident when stolen bitcoins dump is over then we can see  the price slowly rising, however if people keep dumping it will never go above 600 again in next month.

The stolen bitcoin will not be dumped in the near future, they have to be mixed and sold slowly in exchanges.

Is there any news about the mixing of the stolen funds. It seems the bitcoin price is lower than a few weeks ago.

If you haven't heard the news about hacking a considerable exchange account i.e. bitfinex. It may mean they are bitfinex who experience such events, or rather the culprit did sales bitcoin, and this is causing the price of the bitcoin down. I think this is a statement that is not appropriate, because if indeed their (hackers) sells all or part of the bitcoin is small then it will only have an impact on the life of hackers and not the growth of the bitcoin

hope you will see the price about 800$ at the end of september and after that the price of bitcoin is going to cross all time high level at the end of this year, to me more and more people are entering in the world of bitcoin who are investing their money here, we can see that the confidence of people is now again restoring and they are again investing their money in bitcoin.

i hope this happens soon too.
but i think bitcoin needs some kind of start up before it can start rising big, it can go above $600 easily and soon but for more than $600 it needs that good news to start things up for it.

Now the question is,  when will we be back to $600?  I honestly wasn't expecting us to drop below that mark after we hit $700, but that's ok.  And I could care less about the stolen money getting back into circulation.   It'd be ideal if it got returned,  but that ain't gonna happen.   I'm sure I've spent cash that had been stolen many times in its life.

I think $600 can be achieved in next week as price is moving up slowly now so if we don't come across any bad news till that point then $600 is not a problem.

The price has been hovering around 570 these days. The most important part is its stable. So even if it take a month more to reach a stable 600. It will be great.

Yes we had found a solid bottom around 560 to 570 after the bad Finex drop.
But now it looks like we are able to move up a few dollars.
Actual average in usd is 589 and the chart looks like it still can make a few bucks upwards.
600+ coming soon.

yes the 600$ has become a little barrier for bitcoin to cross it. people are psychologically feeling reluctant to trade bitcoin above 600$. they feel the price in 580$ a little safe, but if once it cross the 600$ then the rising trend will continue and expected to cross even 700$.

i think now the bitcoin is going to break all the barrier and create a new history, we can expected bitcoin to cross the 1200$ at the end of this year so the price of bitcoin can therefore start rising at nay moment.

That approach is way too optimistic, I am afraid even if bitcoin manages to cross the $600 mark, it won't last long. The mean price of bitcoins for the rest of this year is less than $600.

I saw movement altcoin fall, and bitcoin increased slowly, most likely this weekend should the price could touch $600 or slowest next week.
I see normally when altcoin prices are falling, bitcoin prices rising.

i personally think we'll see the price settle above the $600 level before the end of this year. mainly because of the recent hack being pushed to the back ground more and more. i think this is what keeps the price down and make traders have a bad taste in their mouth as it ruined the positive upwards movement we were experiencing.
