Personally I prefer BTC because it doesn't send your house address and what not via payments, but sometimes it gets annoying when I want to buy something online but they don't accept BTC. What do you prefer: PayPal or BTC?

Well both of them have their advantages, but I guess Bitcoin has more pros than cons. Here are a few reason I prefer Bitcoin over PayPal.

Bitcoin
~ Bitcoin has no chargebacks
~ Bitcoin is Pseudo anonymous and more private
~ Bitcoin is a more secure network than PayPal < Decentralized >
~ Bitcoin is not centralized, so nobody can ban your account, if you buy something or pay foor something they do not allow. < Online Gambling > 

PayPal
~ You have some customer protection and a average rating system as a guide. < Both are highly debatable >   

Different tools for different jobs.

Unfortunately I have to say PayPal. It`s more then standard, you can find use PayPal everywhere. Simply this is a reason I am using PayPal more often.
I wish Bitcoin have the same possibilities and acceptance.

I choose BTC, because paypal is very difficult to use, requires verification troublesome, while bitcoin live list and ready for use  :)

again paypal is an escrow agent basically and bitcoin is a currency, do you see that there is not a direct comparison?

i had been seen similar thread such this before but my answers still same i do will choose bitcoin than paypal because bitcoin have low transactions fees, practically and etc and i think you already know about advantages use bitcoin without i explain more

Receiving payment with BTC is much faster than PayPal. With PayPal you have to wait for them to release funds. BTC transactions are faster and more convenient!

Surely i choose bitcoin then PayPal. Many advantages that i can get by bitcoin then PayPal. And i agree with your statement, using anonymously is the one aspect that bitcoin is better for me then PayPal.

Me 2. I also choose Bitcoin. And now I even now use Bitcoin more than paypal so that is quite good.
More people must use Bitcoin. And that will be also very good for the future. But you never know what can happen with the value.

of course I chose BTC, BTC has many advantages than paypal, paypal although more famous, but I think bitcoin better than paypal, because bitcoin can be easily searched with a hefty amount of lots

I prefer bitcoin, it's much easier and with no legal mumbo jumbo and you just need to click a button and it's done, I always get weird complaints from PayPal and get limited for no specific reason, I prefer bitcoin.

It does not mean that they are a fan of their product even though they are a Coca-Cola employees. If you work at Apple, there is still some employees that using their Android phone though they work with Apple.

i have never liked Paypal anyways, even before i came to know bitcoin.

so now that i know about bitcoin i hate Paypal even more especially the charge-back part which opens the way for a lot of scamming.

Both payment system has different domain , In mathematics we can say Paypal is subset of Bitcoin.


solution to this problem is to buy a bitcoin debit card , add bitcoins to it withdraw $$ from any ATM by deducing a small fee for that exchange.

I prefer bitcoins over PayPal because no need of verifications, can not be hacked, no 21 day holds and no charge backs.

Bitcoin is still the best for me paypal is known but it still got some issue when you are doing a first time transaction and your money will be hold.
Unlike bitcoin the transaction is fast and there is no hassle when taking payments from other users.

Of course there is still some of them who don't like the product of their company, but as dhimasnk said "many" of them which is not all of them and not some of them.

Bitcoin is more convinient for me than paypal. Paypal needs your account to be verified unless you are risking your account to be limited while in bitcoin, it only takes a minute to set up a wallet. Also I prefer bitcoin more because it does not have a chargebck option thus dealing with people I yet don't know don't give me a risk that they will chargeback their payment.

BTC's for sure, cheaper and easier to use IMO.

Well, for online shopping of course it's PayPal, not only it is easy to use but the buyers protection makes all the difference, I know of no better payment system for online shopping than PayPal.

Anyway, I would like to say that I prefer bitcoins over PayPal, but the problem is that I can use PayPal in more places. Though their support may suck and they have a lot of problems themselves, I can have a more diverse amount of ways to spend money from PayPal. However, when bitcoin reaches the point where PayPal is now, then I will use that. But for now, it's easier to use PayPal over bitcoin.

Bitcoin is still yet to get accepted by more and more merchants in coming days. But i really like to pay via bitcoin and i will search about service accepting bitcoin which i need even i know sites already where i can get those services paying via paypal easily.

Paypal is outdated and if I remember well there was some similar poll and already people gave vote for Bitcoin.Paypal is struggling for survival but the freedom and low cost with decentralization Bitcoin offer PayPal can never reach that level not even in a decade time.

I had PayPal account which I have abandoned for long time.I find Bitcoin the best and reliable way to complete my needs.I have to transfer funds for that purpose I let even banking services in this regard.PayPal's charge back is biggest disadvantage for itself along with many others.

yes you are right the fact is also that they are very slow with it a charge back takes forever.. really hating it.

Bitcoin is better in terms of use, it's more comfortable and easier to use and you don't have the risk of being limited at every transaction, PayPal is better in terms of availability and almost every big merchant site offers it.

Bitcoin because it's cheaper to use and more customer friendly, Bitcoin is not closed or limiting users for no reason, I think Bitcoin is better than PayPal specially with increased adoption to it.

Bitcoins is more easy to use and more supportive community overall IMO, PayPal is more widely used and accepted and userfriendly... BTC is the currency of the future so that's an additional reason to jump on it.

Yeah, bitcoin is easy to use and when creating new wallet on bitcoin, you don't need verification or something like paypal. But in bitcoin you can't get your bitcoin back if you get scammed.

- you are on a bitcoin forum :)
- bitcoin is faster
- bitcoin is more secure
- you pay way lower fees than paypal.
- and the best reason for the last: Paypal has many ridiculous rules and you have to bend over backwards to obey them, not true with bitcoin

yeah paypal is centralization they have a boss or owner with that so certainly they have regulations and rules. where you have to abide by these rules if you break it. the result is your account will be frozen along with your money

Yes BTC is much better than paypal, and if you want to buy any thing online then it is not a problem you can find a large number of alternative of that thing which you want to buy just search in this forum and google you will easily find.

I will choose bitcoin as my main  because bitcoin has low fee or no fee for other online wallet unlike paypal has a crazy fee for every transaction.
If i want a safety purposes' i will choose paypal because you have power to reverse payment or dispute once the seller not give a the exact goods or stuff..

well, i think charge back is not a bad thing. because you are not always the person who receives money through PayPal, sometimes you have to think of it the other way around like if you were scammed you have the chance of getting your money back.

I am absolutely for BTC, never liked paypal not only because of currency but also because I don't like their platorm, i find it super unfriendly.
Therefore I prefer BTC for every purpose and absolutely everything  ;D

Thats the one thing i hate about paypal the charge back that they do even though you did what your client is looking for.

Paypal is easiest for beginers who starts with alternative methods to banks. But the more I'm in BTC the more I think that BTC is much better. Maybe not for transactions speed beacouse first confirmation can take up sometimes to 30 minutes but for it's decentralization and no restrictions like in Paypal.

I got that simple rule, when you can buy something directly for Bitcoin then go for it - every time.
It is good to show merchant that Bitcoin is not so fictional currency but it is used by people to buy real stuff.
I was really upset recently when I heard that Microsoft removes Bitcoin payment option from their store - maybe no enough people was using bitcoin?

BTC for sure. What do you want with PP? Chargebacks & locked accounts all the time, delayed withdrawals,... list is endless.

The main thing that irritates me is that paypal overcharge merchants on fees. Sure as a buyer it is ok to use paypal, but the amount of money paypal charges on fees is just crazy.
I hope more and more merchants will see and understand this.

Paypal is very good, especially if you use it as an consumer to buy products. The buyer protection makes it very very safe.
But bitcoin is good for both the consumer and merchants. Which gives bitcoin a better selling point then both paypal and/or creditcards.

At this present time I think Paypal has more advantages than bitcoin to operate in the current economy, but I have no doubt that this crypto economy has the potential enough to displace gradually several of this payment methods with the passage of time.

I had use paypal before to make my transactions,dealing investing ,but nowadays i dont even know very well how to use paypal anymore and i dont wanna it.Bitcoin is the only processor and im full dedicated to it .

Thats what i ahte about paypal with their system its being abuse to a point were you just let go of paypal and change to bitcoin.

Paypal is a real ripoff and is stealing millions of dollars a year by not refunding people their money when they have invested in businesses. Paypal has a habit of making a lot of money from businesses then suddenly freezing those businesses for 180 days then not releasing member's funds. My Dad now is taking legal action against Paypal as they are not refunding him over 1.2k usd He is inditing them for fraud.

Maybe you are right, PayPal have more popularity than bitcoin who still little bit of user. But i believe that bitcoin will equaling PayPal as soon as possible because day by day many people who interest and want to use bitcoin.

The paypal is just a pay method only, and the bitcoin is a real currency so that is already a advantage of the bitcoin plus it can be used globally with paypal its sometimes limited.

Well, PayPal is a mediatory unlike bitcoin which is getting used as payment gateway as well a currency for the future. Now I go for both, everything has advanced and in terms of availability I go with PayPal as its accepted more. The same could happen with bitcoin within years so that it makes large number of users to follow it.

Paypal only advantage is that it is well know and backup by most companies while bitcoin is still new and there are still a lot to be proven by bitcoin before it can be accepted by most companies.

What will you guys do when you want to purchase some item online but only PayPal and credit cards are accepted and you can't use a service like Purse.io to utilize Bitcoin purchases? Will you use a Bitcoin debit card from one of the companies knowing that you will pay more in fees that way than using a normal bank issued debit card?

I like both Paypal and Bitcoin but with some things one is just better then the other. With Paypal online shopping is much better because you can use it at so many stores. With bitcoin I like the fact that you can make money with it.

There are now more people that is using Bitcoin and that is quite nice, because you already can see indeed that Bitcoin is getting more used and more popular so that is good.
But some people that use paypal are also going to Bitcoin and that is good for Bitcoin it self.

well, this is sad but true. not a lot of places are accepting bitcoin, and they are sticking with other things (not PayPla either) they are using other payment processors.
PayPal is mostly used by people trying to do transactions p2p like selling something to another person. and the only reason they are using paypal is because they don't know about bitcoin

I think Bitcoin is better when it comes to exchanging to fiat, primarily because Paypal is a bitch to try and get money into your bank account from. Not all exchanges are efficient either, but most are much better.

I'm from Asia, yes Bitcoin is better. I tried to use paypal but is difficult to use that's why I'm using bitcoin because is easy to use.

Bitcoin is better when you want your information to be private but with Paypal it is just a bit easier in my opinion. Paypal is also worldwide more accepted at online websites and stores.

I use paypal because I use Bitcoin as a store of value and not a currency. Im not going to buy Bitcoin just to have to convert it to Bitcoin then buy whatever I can buy already with fiat. Bitcoin is more valuable than fiat, so im not going to waste on the stupid shit that I usually buy with fiat out of boredom.

I use both PayPal and Bitcoin. I use PayPal as my checking account when I am purchasing goods online and Bitcoin is my savings account where most of my digital money goes to. I don't keep a lot of money on PayPal as they sometimes play dirty with your funds and can freeze your account out of the blue. I have deposited only amounts just enough for my purchases and nothing more. Any surplus of money every month goes to my bank account and Bitcoin wallet.

Its depend on your need. If you want the wallet that secure your money, if you want to transact safe to others  paypal is the best. But for me bitcoin is the best because you can grow your money without doing anything. You can send money anonimously.

you are right. how good paypal, if you ask here surely more people will choose bitcoin. even if there is no store that accepts bitcoin, it's a problem that is easy, you just stay swap bitcoin that you have in terms of dollars and buy something in the store that is near your house

As someone coming from Asia as well, it is true the we tend to prefer bitcoins rather than PayPal as the verification and confirmation takes a lot of time (around 2 weeks minimum). Plus, I have trust issues with PayPal as I've seen an acquaintance of mine how he can, somehow, access someone else's PayPal account. Bitcoin on the other hand is a lot easier to use that's why I'd prefer bitcoins.

Shops accepting bitcoin is very low. This is expected to grow high on the days of increased adoption. Now PayPal has got access to most of the shopping sites. Also I prefer bitcoin at times of transaction and when it comes to shopping PayPal has been used.

With paypal there is always the risk of limiting your account, when you use it in different ventures online, from Paid to Click to selling on ebay, one beautiful day they limit your account cause they feel like it, in this point of view bitcoin cannot be praised as it should when it comes to you being in control and not some shady organization like Paypal. And yes I hate them and I don't have my account limited with them (at least not yet)

Both Paypal and Bitcoin are good for certain things. Paypal is better if you want to order things as clothes at online webshops and stores. Bitcoin tries to do the same thing but is not as far as Paypal. Bitcoin is good if you want to save money and make money.

Yes both paypal and bitcoin is good but it has its own advantages and disadvantages like if you do transaction in paypal adantage of it is yoy can use it anywhere like do online shopping and many more you can do with paypal and if you get scam you can file dispute so you can get back your money disadvantage is the fee is large. While in bitcoin addvantage is les fee per transaction and it anonimosity and its disadvantage is if you get scam you cannot do with it but cry And lack of acceptance in online store for bitcoin for now.

In my opinion bitcoin is much better because of the fact that its for me much easier to pay with and also because it cannot get limited.

Absolutely right, but both of the means of payment has drawbacks and advantages. And it is true that Paypal is much better in terms of transactions at each place online store, because paypal has vendors that define the flow of the course, unlike the Bitcoin. I don't think you understand less about the policy of Paypal and Ebay. They do work together to protect consumers so as not to experience things that are not diingkan, so we want to make transactions on the Internet.

There is many reasons to hate PayPal. Just see this website and read some complains of people who used it:

People are angry about:

1. PayPal reserve and holdbacks ruining my business,
2. Horrible Paypal experience, 113 fraudulent transactions
3. PayPal mistakenly put a hold on my account
4. You can not win a chargeback as a seller when using PayPal

It depends on the situation because I like both Bitcoin and Paypal. Both have there ups and downs, when it comes to online shopping Paypal is without a doubt the better one to choose. But with Bitcoin you can now gamble and make money so it depends.

As you can see you see that there a lot of people that is getting more addicted to Bitcoin and the reason is because Bitcoin is getting more popular and more used and that is nice for the currency.
The hard thing only is that you never know what the value will be of Bitcoin and that is the only problem.

BTC, Much lesser fees "compared to PayPal 3x cents + a percentage of every commercial transaction.

I am only using  Paypal at a moment is only because of online shopping as almost all sites accepts Paypal and bitcoin is missing at a moment, but lets hope in future the things will go other way.

Why could you not choose them both, I also think its true about the fact that its really annoying that you cannot use them in every store(the bitcoin).
I sometimes pay with the bitcoin and sometimes with paypal depending on if I trust the store.

I would go for paypal because you can make easily with it and there are still a lot more stores on the internet than the bitcoin.

Well i were a costumer of paypal but their big fees made me go into anothers processors such as payza ,then i found bitcoin and currently i believe there is nothing better to work with,sure paypal has merchants support but besides that the costumer who buys a lot online will save some money with bitcoin.

There are very less merchants who accept bitcoin payments compared to paypal. I do agree that being a currency bitcoin has advantages but PayPal is a recognized payment method while bitcoin prices are volatile. It can make you incur losses if the price drops by over 20%.

When it comes to online shopping both are good but Paypal is without a doubt the better one to choose. But the good thing about Bitcoin is that you can use it as an investment which allows the user to make money. So both are good it just depends on what you do with it.

For my bitcoin is the best because its easy and untraceable, I also do not like paypal for some certain reasons, its limited sometimes and I really hate it.

Yup when it comes in online shopping both are good either if you want a legal transaction go for the paypal but if you want untraceable transaction or illegal transaction bitcoin is the best. But if you are a online shopper you dont have trust in the seller i suggest to you that paypal is the best so that you can secured your money you can dispute the seller if they scammed you.

If I am a buyer: Paypal with linked credit/debit card ONLY.

yeah for bitcoin fee may be much friendlier than paypal any amount you send money using bitcoin. will never change fee will remain the same. in contrast to other methods such as PayPal, etc.

There's nothing to be confused about people don't want to be scammed when buying stuff online.

Yup, PayPal is basically the equivalent of a Bitcoin escrow service, and it ensures that both parties carry out their jobs correctly and everyone gets their good or service (or money) in the end.

PayPal does protect a customer, for the most part, but it is also a good tool for scammers that are trying to make easy money off of small business owners. There will never really be a good balance, ever.

This is why paypal keeps being the main choise of online costumers when the thing is related to shop,bitcoin is missing the potencial grow and exposure since isnt supporting the online shopping ,being the main areas gambling ,exchange and porn companies,soo bitcoin hasnt reached the target that i believe is the shopping.I hope in the near future some big company works as microsoft with a third companie but accepting bitcoin to their products.

This is a bitcoin forum but you are free to choose what is better for you, for me bitcoin is better for some reasons, but i undestand that paypal is much powerfull nowdays.

I prefer Paypal to process my ordinary payments (actually I prefer Neteller), but bitcoin also offers some other advantages that I can't deny, but at this moment I am only using bitcoin to speculate and get profits.

Paypal can also be used for online transfers. But yeah, the fee for each transaction is really big than bitcoin. Fee for each transaction on bitcoin is so small.

Bitcoin in my opinion is definitely superior to any other payment processor out there!

That's not something one can do continuously, you might be able to do that a couple of times but Paypal has really invested in fraud prevention over the the years and they are very experienced with that.

you right I also prefer BTC because it doesn't send your house address and what not via payments, but sometimes it gets annoying when I want to buy something online but they don't accept BTC. What do you prefer: PayPal or BTC?

That is the reason people prefer to use bitcoin for online transfer as it involves very least fees and people will start to use bitcoin for shopping too in future when more sites will start accepting it.

But if you're buying something you need to provide an address and name to receive it...

Maybe thats the other reason why people ise bitcoin but i see many people use it because they want to earn online and they see bitcoin because it is trending now but bitcoin has many disadvantage like lacking of adoption to online busibess sector unlike paypal you can use it anywhere you want but it has its own disadvantage it is higher transaction fee when you use it.

As you can see you see that Bitcoin is getting more popular and more used and that is perfect for the currency because the world is also getting more digital so that is nice.
But nobody will know what there will happen with Bitcoin and that would be a problem because you have also to take risks if you are going to buy or sell it.

i like bitcoin more too, first reason is because of fees, bitcoin fee is 4 cents, while paypal have 5%-15% fees sending to others, and that's a lot

other reasons are because it is very easy to send and get money from others, you don't have to give your home address when sending for example(unless you buy something) and it is much easier to use

agreed,bitcoin is perfect payment for digital world,and we gonna face this digital world soon. but i think  the problem come from goverment and bitcoin spreading,goverment will not easy to accept bitcoin as legal and official currency,and then people in little city who dont have any internet access is more hard to accept bitcoin,because they getting hard to get any connection in little village.

Both are best in their own ways and holds their own advantages.

I prefer Bitcoin because Bitcoin has less transaction fees than Paypal.
Bitcoin is easy to use, and no need to verify like Paypal.

It depends on what you are going to use if for, when you prefer online shopping then without question Paypal is better. I have to say that Bitcoin is becoming more available at online webshops.

I think this is unfair because bitcoin is  currency, and paypal just wallet not currency.

i use both and i like both, for example with paypal you can pay in amazon, ebay, and other sites, while with bitcoin you can't pay here, but you can pay in openbazaar site

and bitcoin have much smaller fees than paypal do, and also when you pay with bitcoins you need to give much less info than paying in paypal, but i think that both are very good

in comparison, I still choose bitcoin better than paypal. though paypal has been recognized worldwide, but its use is very difficult, and very difficult to find a job on the internet that use paypal payment. while looking for jobs on the internet for a fee of bitcoin is very easy.

Actually this is partially i agree because before Bitcoin we was using this Paypal only that time if we do any online business we will receive our payment from paypal account only. has how Bitcoin is not accepted in all countries Paypla also not accepted in all country we take help from third party to withdraw our payment. But there lot of restriction to open account. But in this situation Bitcoin is easy no need any personal information. SO choice is yours which one is easy in your country choose that one.

Using both of them actually cause i don't wont to choose, i am using bitcoin if it needed and the same thing with paypal.  I really think that people must  do what they want in this case.

I exactly have the same problem, I like them both and I use them also both, I like the bitcoin for the self controllable ability and paypal for its reversible payments.

If we have freedom to use both then why to choose a single one, keep on taking benefits from both of them, use Paypal for shopping and bitcoin for money transfers.

I can simply not choose between them for me they are both good.

It's different for each person, that's right. May I ask what your PayPal usage looks like? I have ditched PayPal years ago because it froze my balance 2 times for quite a long time. It took months to get it back the second time. And that while I haven't been breaking any of their policies.
