What happens if I invest 1000 ETH and the five people after me each only invest 0.05 ETH?

Quote
After 5 investors, you will earn 15% profit!
● After 50 investors, you will earn 150% profit!
● After 500 investors, you will earn 1500% profit!
● If you have a 25th spot, then you earn 3x more, so after
500 investors you will earn 4500% profit!

I think this claim would not work?

You get paid 3% every single time, after each investor. The contract gets triggered after each deposit.

So that means that you earn 15% profit after the 5 investors, that is sent to you instantly.

Until the Balance is higher than 0 , payments will go out!

And it is sustainable for the long term.

3% of 0.5 ETH or 3% of 1000 ETH?

3% of 0.5 ETH or 3% of 1000 ETH?

3% of the 1000 ETH, every one gets 3% of the money they invested.

Every 25th investor earns 9%, that is the jackpot position.

Can you explain a bit better? Where is the ETH coming from?

user 1 deposits 100 ETH to the address (nowholding 100 ETH) we have to pay 0 users 3 ETH, so we substract 0 from 100, so the address now holds 100
user 2 deposits 100 ETH to the address (nowholding 200 ETH) we have to pay 1 users 3 ETH, so we substract 3 from 200, so the address now holds 197
user 3 deposits 100 ETH to the address (nowholding 297 ETH) we have to pay 2 users 3 ETH, so we substract 6 from 297, so the address now holds 291
user 4 deposits 100 ETH to the address (nowholding 391 ETH) we have to pay 3 users 3 ETH, so we substract 9 from 391, so the address now holds 382
user 5 deposits 100 ETH to the address (nowholding 482 ETH) we have to pay 4 users 3 ETH, so we substract 12 from 482, so the address now holds 470
user 6 deposits 100 ETH to the address (nowholding 570 ETH) we have to pay 5 users 3 ETH, so we substract 15 from 570, so the address now holds 555
user 7 deposits 100 ETH to the address (nowholding 655 ETH) we have to pay 6 users 3 ETH, so we substract 18 from 655, so the address now holds 637
user 8 deposits 100 ETH to the address (nowholding 737 ETH) we have to pay 7 users 3 ETH, so we substract 21 from 737, so the address now holds 716
user 9 deposits 100 ETH to the address (nowholding 816 ETH) we have to pay 8 users 3 ETH, so we substract 24 from 816, so the address now holds 792
user 10 deposits 100 ETH to the address (nowholding 892 ETH) we have to pay 9 users 3 ETH, so we substract 27 from 892, so the address now holds 865

Deposit amounts arent equal, and after the balance goes to 0, which will be very far in the future, it just pauses the system until more people deposit.

So if the system has to payout 100 ether to an investor in the line and there is only 10 ether in balance, then it waits for another 90 ether, and then it will be paid out

3% of 0.5 ETH or 3% of 1000 ETH?

3% of the 1000 ETH, every one gets 3% of the money they invested.

Every 25th investor earns 9%, that is the jackpot position.

This is wrong!

If I deposit 1,000 ETH right now, and then deposit 0.05 ETH 1,000 times from different accounts, my 1,000 ETH deposit will have been paid out 3% 1,000 times, or 30,000 ETH. Where is this money coming from?

Assuming my 1,001 deposits are the only accounts in the piggybank, that means only 1,050 has been collected yet 30,000 + %s for all the 0.05 accounts are being paid out.

The money comes from new investors, so make sure you invest early, we are before the 25th investor.

If you get the 25th spot, then you will earn big time.

We will have 1000+ deposits, so every early investor will make big bucks!

Smart idea. The only way this will continue to work forever is if everyone promotes this.

The more you promote it, the more you will make in the long run because you constantly need new investors... Hopefully Eth Piggybank gets a website and some youtube videos explaining the process to new people.

I see many Eth ponzis coming in the future, but there will only be a few successful ones.

I have a question for the creator, so if one were to make multiple deposits from the same ETH address, the contract would pretty much send you 3% multiple times on each of the different initial deposits is that correct?

AFter seeing full concept and reply , if their is no more investor then what will happen to the investor who have invested their ETH.

Most of the reply are from Newbies , this is smelling some fishy i think, and even one of the user gave a full details about the investment and it is clear that in on certain point your bank will become negative,

So now i am confirm that this is a scam scheme to scam user.

Beware users who ever is going to invest it. its a ponzi scheme to scam.

It is indeed a Ponzi, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a scam.
The contract is viewable by the public.

You must realize that the Ponzi is fully automated, therefore as long as new investors come in everyone will get their money.

If no new users come in, the users who've already invested will not receive anything until new investors come in. That's how a Ponzi works. It takes full cooperation of everyone, and trust in the contract.

That's why I said that those who wish to continue to profit from the Piggybank should consider doing their part in introducing new investors.

Please help me i sent my eth from poloniex.
Is the contractl just send my eth back to polo cold storage?  ???

Sorry, there is nothing I can do, i cant touch the contract, that is why it's transparent.

The profit was sent back to poloniex's address, so better contact them to get your coins.

I sent 0.47 Ether and I have is error:Warning! An error occured during contract execution. Out Of Gas  Transaction  0x3a9c5b6325f128f11c6f5edb0d38bd3256c734526704292006fb693b60fcf270  (ready I use the wallet Jaxx andoid and there no problem  ;D :) )

Need to send more gas, just send bigger fees, or use the Mist wallet.

noobhelper178 please report that ethereumwallet It doesn't work, if you can not use the Wallet Ethereum official, Jaxx Wallet Android works good, also this the  version Jaxx Wallet IOS, Jaxx Wallet Windows and Linux, please excuse my English ;D

Mist wallet works, i used it to create it, and test it, it works fine, just add higher fee's if it's rejected:

https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases

I have a question for the creator, so if one were to make multiple deposits from the same ETH address, the contract would pretty much send you 3% multiple times on each of the different initial deposits is that correct?

Yes.

You send  1 ether , you get  0.03 ether

You send again 5 ether , you get 0.15 ether

After 2 deposits you will earn 0.18 ether, forever after people after you deposit!

No, all the balance will be paid out eventually.

There are some contracts that have bad programmers, and programmed their contracts that the funds are locked there forever.

This is not the case with PIGGYBANK, i have tested the code rigurously, and it works perfectly, the balance will be paid out after a while.

you need to use

Until the Balance is higher than 0 , payments will go out!

How is the payout hierarchy?

Are people who deposited first, being paid first?

Yes, the order of payment is the order of deposit.

The those that deposited first get paid first, and so it goes on.

But everyone gets paid  after more people deposit.

Can you explain a bit better? Where is the ETH coming from?

Deposit amounts arent equal, and after the balance goes to 0, which will be very far in the future, it just pauses the system until more people deposit.

So if the system has to payout 100 ether to an investor in the line and there is only 10 ether in balance, then it waits for another 90 ether, and then it will be paid out

Interesting, i`m getting paid tomorrow, so i`ll just buy ethereum and invest in this.

I would like a ethereum income for myself, and this looks perfect.

Op does this mean that i will earn from this forever??

OMG, this game has become very popular.

I just got my payment, and have bought 10 BTC with it, now i`m gonna buy ETH and invest in Piggybank.

I regret that i could not invest earlier, but now i`m ready to make big money  8)

Since you feel this is a "scam", provide valid proof.
Show me where in the ethereum contract there is a scam.

This is a public, automated, contract on the ethereum system, therefore if it were a scam you should easily be able to identify it.

I message the developer... in where i deposited ether 15hours ago and it shows on log!  Around 10 minutes later has a log saying  that it sent me 3% of my initial investment  but i didnt received nothing on my wallet.

Since my initial investment i guess over 25 new people invested on Piggy Bank or even more... and even so nothing was sent to my wallet...

GUYS! Do not invest in this until op answers why this address is taking most of the profit funds from the contract:

Address: 0xf303bde76a36411b7c0459efdd2e5f7069964203

That address has only deposited 0.51 Ether, and it's receiving mostly all the profits from the contract.

Here's the etherscan website to check it out yourself. OP can you explain this?

trying to use this as an example to learn how contracts work.

I believe i've identified the problem in the contract, but i would love to hear from someone who actually knows.

I think the problem is this line:
Code:
                while (balance > investors[k].amount * 3 / 100 && k < total_inv) //exit condition to avoid infinite loop

total_inv is always going to be 0.

so this basically never runs. the only investor that is paid is at id 0, the first investor. ie: the owner.

Can someone else confirm?

Thats nonsense, you cant read the code, the total_inv is set to the lenght of the investors array, which is scaling after each contract execution by +1.

Read it again:

Quote

contract PiggyBank {

  struct InvestorArray {
      address etherAddress;
      uint amount;
  }

  InvestorArray[] public investors;

  uint public k = 0;
  uint public fees;
  uint public balance = 0;
  address public owner;

  // simple single-sig function modifier
  modifier onlyowner { if (msg.sender == owner) _ }

  // this function is executed at initialization and sets the owner of the contract
  function PiggyBank() {
    owner = msg.sender;
  }

  // fallback function - simple transactions trigger this
  function() {
    enter();
  }

  function enter() {
    if (msg.value < 50 finney) {
        msg.sender.send(msg.value);
        return;
    }

    uint amount=msg.value;

    // add a new participant to array
   uint total_inv = investors.length;
   investors.length += 1;
    investors[total_inv].etherAddress = msg.sender;
    investors[total_inv].amount = amount;

    // collect fees and update contract balance

      fees += amount / 33;             // 3% Fee
      balance += amount;               // balance update

     if (fees != 0)
     {
        if(balance>fees)
   {
         owner.send(fees);
         balance -= fees;                 //balance update
   }
     }

   // 4% interest distributed to the investors
    uint transactionAmount;

    while (balance > investors[k].amount * 3/100 && k<total_inv)  //exit condition to avoid infinite loop
    {

     if(k%25==0 &&  balance > investors[k].amount * 9/100)
     {
      transactionAmount = investors[k].amount * 9/100;
      investors[k].etherAddress.send(transactionAmount);
      balance -= investors[k].amount * 9/100;                      //balance update
      }
     else
     {
      transactionAmount = investors[k].amount *3/100;

so the reason more people are not getting paid is because most of the money is being paid to the owner in fees?

0xf303bde76a36411b7c0459efdd2e5f7069964203

https://etherscan.io/address/0xf303bde76a36411b7c0459efdd2e5f7069964203#internaltx

Code:
                fees += amount / 33; // 3% Fee
                balance += amount; // balance update

                if (fees != 0) {
                        if (balance > fees) {
                                owner.send(fees);
                                balance -= fees; //balance update
                        }
                }

what's left goes to the first few investors, then amount becomes too low and stops the loop, making later investors get nothing?

is amount/33 really 3%?

Just trying to understand how this all works.

Doc, that should be an option to reset contracts like these and refund all transactions once proven its a scam...

Only by asking every wallet involved if they want to reset, within a certain % agrees it should proceed and refund...

Since ethereum are SMART contracts this should be a option and would bring more safety to users...

Dont worry theres a thing kalled KARMA in life...

Since most of the ether are all stored in one account it would be nice to retrive them tho, or even block it from using it...

If this is an honest mistake in your coding, refund those who lost, and redo the Piggybank contract. Simple as that.
You'll make more money in the long run being honest than running off with our crumbs.

no, first me and the investors get paid, but everyone in the loop gets paid, by the order they invested

the balance currently is low, so that is why later investors will get delayed payments, but after the balance gets high, they will get paid

Seriously guys, this contract lives on the blockchain forever, so just wait a few hours and days and everyone will be paid.

The faster you invested the faster you will get paid, but after some time everyone will be!

Well maybe it's not a scam.... I'll wait a few days and see what happens before I jump to conclusions.

This is a great idea, I just hope the coding is 100% right, and people continue to participate.

I'll keep everyone updated.

noobhelper178,

the thing is that most of Ether are going to only one wallet 'https://etherscan.io/address/0xf303bde76a36411b7c0459efdd2e5f7069964203' and not coming out of it.... So your fee is like 90% of deposited ether.... As you can see people deposited allot and almost all went to that wallet wich only invested 0.5ether, and not to other investors... So only one account 'yours' is profiting...  Why is that ?

And after i sent the ether 18hours agoo the contract tried to pay me 3% but the contract got canceled so i didnt even received the first 3%...

After my deposit we had over 30-50 new deposits in wich your claim is that each deposit investors would receive 3% wich isnt happening

i Messaged you the contract that was suppose to pay me 3% and got canceled, and got no response.

The main thing is that all the ether is going out to 0xf303bde76a36411b7c0459efdd2e5f7069964203  and not to other investors...

I totally agree, if there was a way to edit/reset contracts, I believe there would be less scams.

I just lost about roughly 64 Ether.  :-\

you didnt lost it, you will earn eth after more people invest

Wow can't believe I got scammed out of my Eth, and I actually defended this guy.  I'm poor and can barely afford food, thanks a lot.

you didnt got scammed, you will be paid out after more people join

Seriously guys, this contract lives on the blockchain forever, so just wait a few hours and days and everyone will be paid.

The faster you invested the faster you will get paid, but after some time everyone will be!

Just make sure you dont throw away your current address, and then just wait, everyone will be paid!!!

i believe ya, i already got paid 10+ times since i deposited hours ago

the money just comes to my address automatically, so it works, and i`m very happy :D

so as the OP said, the contract is uploaded there forever, so i think the money will come automatically just like it does to me after a while.

maybe wait a few hours, because there are many participants already so it may be some delay, but the system is there forever so you have nothing to lose by just waiting a bit more

noobhelper178, i msg you so how come i invested 16hours agoo and the only 3% sent to my wallet got Contract Cancelled ?  If the ether address received my fund it should return the investment....

ANd whyAddress: 0xf303bde76a36411b7c0459efdd2e5f7069964203   is receiving 99% of the deposited ether?

you probably sent too small gas, try again with higher gas

what's left goes to the first few investors, then amount becomes too low and stops the loop, making later investors get nothing?

is amount/33 really 3%?

Just trying to understand how this all works.

no, first me and the investors get paid, but everyone in the loop gets paid, by the order they invested

the balance currently is low, so that is why later investors will get delayed payments, but after the balance gets high, they will get paid

Is there a way to edit the contract?

if there would be then it would not be transparent

Doc, that should be an option to reset contracts like these and refund all transactions once proven its a scam...

Only by asking every wallet involved if they want to reset, within a certain % agrees it should proceed and refund...

Since ethereum are SMART contracts this should be a option and would bring more safety to users...

it's open source ffs, how can it be a scam?

you can see the code right there

Well, if it's you and the investors getting paid why didn't you include that in the beginning?

Also, the profit only goes to one account, which is the owner of the contract, which I believe is you.

You state to review the code, but people have reviewed the code, as stated in previous comments, and prove the code is broken.

To be frank man, do everyone a huge solid, return their funds, redo the contract from scratch, have someone else review it other than yourself, and earn some eth the correct way.

No, the problem is you are most likely op, but with a different account. There is only one address that has been getting the profit, and it is the same address that created the contract, which is noobhelper (op).

Yep its a scam... he transfered most funds to other final accounts already, one with over 11.000 ethereum...

https://etherscan.io/address/0x120a270bbc009644e35f0bb6ab13f95b8199c4ad

Its stupid because if he let things run smooth for the time it was supposed he would get much more money from it as others would advertise the system...  Tho he scams people in 1 day, run with few ether and dont earn anything else...

Theres no way others can make money if the contract transfers 99% of the ether to his own account.

He could use the time to do something usefull other than scam...

I bet he is the one that transfer most funding from outsorced wallets to make people think others are really getting paid.

Remember Scammer the Karma can come into several ways ! Just wait for it!

Yes... i also sent one transfer 20 hours ago but i didnt received nothing...

On the etherscan says that right after my transfer the contract tried to send me 3% but the contract transfer was cancelled 'error'....

This is a scam only group... they must be doing all kind of scams into stealing crypto from others.

The last funding where all 0.05 ether and most at the same time as they want others to think people are still depositing...

They transfer most ether to the owner wallet and after to several wallets before sending to a main wallet:

https://etherscan.io/address/0x120a270bbc009644e35f0bb6ab13f95b8199c4ad

So he could return all the ether to scammed ones here or people could even track those scammers since it left tracks...

The facts are in the blockchain. None of the investors are getting paid, only your account, which only invested 0.051 Ether in the beginning.

In none of the transactions does the loop ever make it past the first few investors, and never will.

in most transactions the investor data is empty:
etherAddress →  empty
amount →  0

https://etherscan.io/tx/0xd1c7d611e745d0c48fe80acf0367448402f8dbbc93d6fedab76ecc5c90e5f5df#internal
if the contract was working as advertised, i would expect there to be more than 2 outputs each time there was a transaction, so it could be paying out all of the other investors.

Since it pays out investors starting with the owner, the balance runs out before it can ever pay the newest investors. this is a scam.

Waiting for you to prove me wrong newbie.

Edit: also 3 of my payouts ran out of gas so I probably didnt get them.

Title: Re: [ETH] PiggyBank - Earn Ethereum Forever!
Post by: contractcoordinator on March 26, 2016, 01:33:54 AM
ok so the line that breaks this contract is:

Code:
fees += amount / 33; // 3% Fee

each transactions that comes in is adding to the fees from all of the previous transactions and taking that out of the new deposit leaving very little left to be paid out to investors.

the fees are compounded each transaction instead of calculating 3% of just this transaction.

if it was just
Code:
fees = amount / 33; // 3% Fee

then it would be calculating the correct 3% fee and there would be a lot more money to distribute to all of the investors.

you get paid every single time a new investor joins or invests again.

bullshit. scam.

The reason this scam works so well is because at the beginning, the fees will still be low, new investors will be getting paid and the contract will seem like it's working... but as soon as people start investing large amounts the fee variable goes higher and it becomes painfully obvious where all of the money is going.

If the fee becomes too large the fee gets skipped as you saw in the transaction above. The next payment will go right back to sending all of the money to the owner.

This ensures stupid people stay confused.

By the time anyone has figured it out, newbie has already exchanged all of the ETH and is off to the next scam.

It's the wild west of digital currency. Be careful out there.

The reason is because someone made a very large deposit on that transaction and there was enough after the astronomical fees to pay out some investors.

The majority of the money will continue to go directly to the owner until another idiot comes along and puts in a very large amount (larger than the fees value saved in the contract).

Stop sending your ETH to this fool. Save it for slockit dao or just turn off your computer for now, you obviously can't understand any of this even when i've put the proof right in front of you.

The code:

Code:
fees += amount / 33;

The transaction was rejected, you didnt sent enough gas:

Guys, do not send your ethers to this, the "creator" is a scam-artist. He clearly copied an Ethereum doubler, changed it up so it gives you tiny percentages rather than doubling or anything, and at the same time, he DOUBLES his fee after every transaction:

fees += amount / 33;

fees += means the first transaction will take 3%, next will takes 6% fees, next will takes 9% and so on, so he is infinitely increasing his fee amount. This person either had no idea what they were doing, and did no testing on this, or is a pure scam artist.

You should all request a refund, but it is too late from what I see, the owner has already shapeshifted his Ether into oher coins.

PLEASE REPORT THIS TO A MOD OR ADMIN!!!

PSA regarding Ponzis

Ponzi schemes are ‘get rich quick’ investment scams which pay returns to investors from their own money, or from money paid in by subsequent investors. There is no actual investment scheme as the fraudsters siphon off the money for themselves.

A fraudster places an advertisement for a non-existent investment that offers extraordinary returns in a short space of time. Most Ponzis running here do not hesitate to call out they are a Ponzi. After receiving the promised returns on their investment, the first investors start to spread the word to family and friends. In this way, the scheme gains credibility.Because the money isn’t invested in any kind of investment vehicle, there are no profits. Instead, the first investors are simply paid out from the money paid in by new investors.

Ponzi schemes are created for all levels of income, and have taken in investors in the top bracket as well as those on middle and low levels.
Typically, the fraudster will vanish with investors’ money, so the system eventually collapses with later investors receiving nothing - including their initial investment.
Because every Ponzi scheme makes no profit, they collapse sooner or later. You are very unlikely to recover any lost money.

Protect yourself against Ponzi schemes

- If you’re considering any type of investment, always remember: if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is.
- There’s no such thing as a ‘guaranteed risk-free’ investment - high returns can only be achieved with high risk.
- Ponzi fraudsters use vague technical jargon to describe their non-existent investments, such as ‘high yield investment program’ or ‘global currency arbitrage’. This language is most of the times designed to dazzle you.
- Using hard-sell techniques, fraudsters will try to pressure you into making rushed decisions, giving you no time to consider the nature of the investment. (Not so common here)
- As with many fraudulent schemes, you are encouraged to keep your investment secret to ensure you receive maximum returns. This allows the fraudsters to hide the real nature of their scheme.

Ponzi’s are illegal in some country’s. Because of the nature of things we have to deal with people crying they have lost their money sooner or later.

I decided to -ve the operator and supporters of this Ponzi that go on with their shady business after I have posted this.

In simple terms:

This is just another Ponzi Scam! Do Not Invest!

Those who choose to post of their participation support or encouragement for this scam will be tagged with negative trust, for proving they wish to help the scammers operate this Ponzi in return for a share of the funds stolen from other users. Thereby proving they are not trustworthy forum members.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

NOTE: This is a pre written Text taken from different websites and from here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1381105.0), it is used to bring the matter to your attention. I am aware that this Ponzi might has been running for some time, I just decided to not ignore it any longer. Basically I do so because I am sick of seeing people get burned and operator running away with other people’s money. If you start to hate me because I have chosen to tag people here, while Ponzi XYZ is still running, feel free to bring other Ponzi’s to my attention.

Thank you!

Thank you.. I tried to warn them many pages back!.  im so sick of this shit and its rampant in crypto.. Id say its worse than the wild west could ever think of. Access to so many people looking to get rich quick.. Well i'm here to tell you it doesn't happen.  Except for the guy that creates the scam.  unfortunately! quit participating in these scams and it will quit reinforcing the bad behaviour!    If you are aware of an investment opportunity that might be a Ponzi scheme, contact the SEC by phone at (800) 732-0330 or submit a tip online at sec.gov/complaint/tipscomplaint.shtml (http://sec.gov/complaint/tipscomplaint.shtml).  https://www.sec.gov/answers/ponzi.htm (https://www.sec.gov/answers/ponzi.htm)    honestly i think if this board doesnt start actively doing something about all these scams they are going to end up being held liable.. as they are facilitating the place and just watch it go on unabated.

Best Regards

d57heinz,

Indeed this forum is in some way helping scammers...

Like one of my first access on this forum and i enter and see this Piggy Bank join fast or you will loose the train....  Even more with other members of the gang being more senior members with more Posts encouraging saying they received the money back... Its very misleading for newbies...

Newbies enter... a BIG Forum like this supporting this kind of posts and letting the scam post run...  Senior members of the gang with more posts saying how good this is and that they deposited and received xxx times more...

So this forum is facilitating scams.  This should be reviewed by moderators so no more people get scammed.... This scammers only do this and waist theyre time because they catch newbies every week and moderators dont BAN the scammer gang!
