Was warp one of Yobit's giveaway coins recently?   I think I may own a micro amount along with about 100 other coins they give away for free.  I don't know much about warp.  Was there big drama surrounding it?

No it was an ico by user with the name of shapetwist.

Dev has a very unprofessional attitude.

Coin looked very promising.  Went from 0.00002500 ico price up to 0.00060000

But it crashed when dev became unresponsive, deleted slack, was engaging trolls in BCT thread, then he locked bitcointalk thread.

People want a coin dev who acts like a professional CEO with good communication.  Not one who keeps investors in the dark and uses the language of a 17 year old.

Behavior like whining in public and shutting down communication channels is not the kind of behavior which attracts investors and development talent.
Yeah I hear you and I've seen that kind of behavior before.  Seems like developing coins is the province of computer geniuses with poor social skills.   Certainly not all of them but it does make me scratch my head sometimes.   You're absolutely right,  you don't want a dev who acts like a teenager.   It doesn't inspire confidence and to me it's a huge red flag.

not a fan of this at all. i mean yeah sure , dev can stop posting as users were looking to pump. but to completely go off track its bannanas.

like hey, thanks for investing in the ico, but you dont deserve to be constantly be updated, its my coins ill do what i want with it.

including "VPN is not a focus anymore"

well lets see how this strategy will play out shapeshift. you were complaining about the distribution, well you just caused the coin to crush and now anyone with 0.1 bitcoins can own a bigger slice. we can see the block explorer already showing %48 on top 10 address. it was what , %30 before your shanaeninghans

Yes, me too.
I think he should appoint a PR guy to take care of all the communication.

I don't trust someone with my investment who intentionally causes the price of their coin to crash by suddenly deleting slack and locking bitcointalk thread.

This is not how professional CEOs or the leaders of top cryptos act.  You don't see leaders of successful ICOs like ethereum, lisk, iota, factom randomly blocking communication channels and posting the word "fuck" repeatedly.

Risk of the guy randomly deciding to dump all his warp and abandon the project is too damn high.

Yes, I understand.
But I'm already a bagholder, so.....  ;D

yeah not sure how to feel about the "dev"

sure i tried to understand where he came from, or at least from what he has made public, that BTT can be a frustrating place with leechers looking to get that early pump and dump info..

but at the same time, he launched and asked for people's money via ico though this forum. It is not like he is doing this free bono and therefore he doesnt need to respond or make at least few updates. But to lock the whole topic where he asked for users to help collect the bounty?  well .....

i was interested in the vpn usability. i kind of wanted to se how the coin worked. so i bought some on the exchange. i was sad to see the focus shifting away.

im sure shapeshift is still working on warp and probably progressing along with who ever is in the dev team, but this flip-flopping sure makes me skeptical.

i always accepted the fact that the end goal/roadmap might never be achieved. and that was fine. the flip flopping of things already said and done how ever i am not cool with.

oh well. lets see how this pans out.

And why do you think that the ultimate goal of the road map can not be achieved?
Yes, I understand that stepping offline Dev spat at all and sdela this extremely beautiful.
But if we assume that they are still continuing to work, and the time of sagging is only a temporary phenomenon.

that's right.
but at least shapetwist posted last week

for sure it was a bad move just to lock the thread here.
selfmoderated thread would have been a better choice.

Warp was very promising. It did well in ICO. After it hits exchange, price soared. Still, enough time to revive it back. The dev can easily take the coin to back to its good promising time. Warp team will get community support.

tunatrunks is shapetwist in disguise

bush did 9/11 and Illuminati is real?

I wont lie, I hold some warpcoin and its in my interest for the price to go back up, but im not the dev. Fact that I have some is the only reason I know this thread exists. People wont be interested if they dont know shit about it so someone has to post it here, might as well be me.

Oh come on, don't be so melodramatic. Is that the first time a dev disappears? Granted, he got, what, 27 btc? in the ICO. How long do you think he has to be married to a coin for that amount of money? Plus, I just checked coinmarketcap and today seems to be the first day, that the coin sunk under ICO price. Those people who bought into the ICO had enough time to multiply their investments, even in the last few weeks where it became clear that Warp was on the way to the coin graveyard, somewhere at the bottom of yobits left window. Just leave the sinking ship an be done with it.

i was about to invest in warp..when i've seen the dev posting some nice pictures of "warp" logo and nice wallet pictures..my instinct kicked in. i did not invest  ;D

having nice logo and graphics does not mean it is a scam..but when someone is throwing graphics for a hype it is a red flag to me lol

So having invested in Warpcoin and Shapetwist from the beginning I can tell you that it feels a lot like a scam now.  If I look back on the situation I was extremely happy with Shapetwist.  His communication was great and he was constantly in the forum and on slack discussing Warpcoin.  All of a sudden he started making threats and was actually buying and selling Warpcoin for profit.  For me i see that as deplurable.  Especially when you control the market and know inside information.  i received a semi working Windows version of the wallet that never connected to a VPN.  I was told it was being worked on.  Shortly after that Shapetwist shut down Slack blaming everything on a few folks that were apparently pushing him for information.  I think Shapetwist is using this as an excuse to screw everyone.  i am not sure how he sleeps at night.  i guess you are either a scammer or you are a true person.  In my opinion Shapetwist knew he was killing the coin and I am beginning to believe it was his goal from the start.  i am naive and have faith in people.  i thought he was the real thing but he hasn't shown us anything other than childish temper tantrums.  He reminds me a lot of J.G. from Paycoin.  He approached us in Wire app to consider joining a "Board".  I could join if I donated another .85 BTC or so.  ::)  ::) i must have had "DUMB" written on my forehead!  I thought of doing it briefly and then snapped back to reality that I was just pissing the BTC away investing in something Shapetwist cannot deliver on.  Anyway - be very wary investing anything into the new Warpcoin or sister coin he may tout.  While I did not lose money on this deal my read was way off on this guy.  I wouldn't invest another dime into him nor would i support something new.  Just my opinion and heresay.  I hope @shapetwist proves me wrong.  If he does I will be the first to eat my words!

You think he had enough time to sell 100% of his Warp before he went dark and locked the thread?  Seems odd that he would crash the price prior to having a chance to sell his whole stash.

I think he was manipulating all along.  Talk shit, crash price, buy coins, talk up the coin, sell, do something crazy/talk shit, crash price, buy coins - rinse repeat.  Look at the pattern.  Like I said only opinion.  Dev can prove me wrong.

So warp allmost at 1000 sats and shapetwist still nowhere to be seen. I believe he made a brief appearance a month or so ago & claimed all was good & he was back.... Gone for good now, even deleted his @shapetwist twitter. I was in warp from the start , luckilly got the hell out a short while after he deleted slack. Personally i dont think it was his intention to do this, he just has a lot to learn about running a crypto and dealing with people. In theory it could be saved if the dev who he hired comes forth and gives up the code which is prob never gonna happen.
