I think we're going to see double digits this adjustment, network hash power is on the up and up.  I wonder if it will push the halving into June, wouldn't that be crazy?

I am interested in the operating expenses for these massive mines, and at what point (with current BTC value) does the block solve reward no longer cover their costs?  Looks like, for at least the 12.5 coin period, the next gen hardware will continue to keep massive-scale mining profitable.  So sad for all the little guys...

.7 btc more in prizes not as sure I may run it until first jump in aug instead

here is a point brought up  due to the    2.60%  used by bitcoinwisdom

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1468645.msg14958219#msg14958219

philipma1957 - though it doesn't matter here, it will happen eventually.  You should be clear on how you're rounding this.  Suppose the change was 2.598% which bitcoin wisdom showed as 2.60% because it only shows 2dps - who wins, the chooser of 2.50% or 2.60%?

I think it should be based on unrounded percentage increase, so 2.50% would win.

Here it doesn't matter as the increase was 2.603% but let's get this clarified please.

I did go back and look to see if I could find the discussing on this in an old thread .

I remember we said bitcoinwisdom was the final number   which gets rid of rounding issues.

So we will use bitcoinwisdom as the tie breaker.

Well in fact, 2.598 is between 2.5 (incl.) and 2.6 (excl.) so I guess the range of 2.5 (incl.) - 2.6 (excl.) should go from 2.5 to 2.5999999(per...)

Hey btw congrats DanDan!!  That was a difficult difficulty guess, with so much burst in global hashrate!

:)

Okay we will not round.

Winner will be done by devision of the two difficulties .

Not the rounded number .

Last thread was full of suspense i was getting close but it turned out and i lost . This one will be difficult too . Can we see new rules?  Why don't we pick numbers like 3.2% to 3.4%?

Well here we go again. Just shows how difficult this game is when you could have picked wrong even in the last few Hours... So very early Days with Variance playing a big part, but 8 Hours in we are at -15%. I think this time I might stop being scientific and just pluck a number out of the air.  ;D

10) Finally we will be able to fund contest until at least the first diff jump in sept.

unless of course the ½ing destroys mining.

last rule  we use bitcoinwisdom to determine the jump%

Difficulty History

Date   Difficulty   Change   Hash Rate

May 24 2016   199,312,067,531   2.60%   1,426,731,353 GH/s

 so   199,312,067,531 / 194,254,820,283  = 1.02603408883565 - 1 = .02603408883565  x 100 =  2.603408883565%    which was then rounded to 2.60%

Since  a number could be   something like 2.5999932%   bitcoinwisdom would round it up  to 2.60%.

I won't  so we can have a case  where the winner will not match the rounded number posted by bitcoinwisdom.

I do not have 30 posts, but I am an active member of the Bitcoin community and would very much enjoy playing the game.
Is there a way I can get a pass so I don't have to spam 30 posts?

Evidence: I am creator of the Bitcoin engagement ring:

Were starting off decent on BTC value it's gone up to 450 on coinbase.   So hopefully we can go higher this period.  Last period we ended up in 440's most of the time it seemed.

Still early off but bitwisdom:
Bitcoin Difficulty:    199,312,067,531
Estimated Next Difficulty:    208,629,846,397 (+4.67%)
Adjust time:    After 1878 Blocks, About 12.3 days
Hashrate(?):    1,536,586,477 GH/s

Hopefully we can stay under 5 percent is the number I like to be under.   Last time was pretty good at 2.6.

Rules are rules for a reason, if he made an exception for you (who, by the way, provided no evidence of who you are, just some links; hey, I own the whitehouse, evidence: https://www.whitehouse.gov/) then he would have to make an exception for everyone.  If you are active then you should have no problem qualifying by the next round.

I do not have 30 posts, but I am an active member of the Bitcoin community and would very much enjoy playing the game.
Is there a way I can get a pass so I don't have to spam 30 posts?

Evidence: I am creator of the Bitcoin engagement ring:

I also am involved in more academic bitcoin projects:

Thanks,

Okay here is the deal this is a giveaway  totally free game.

When we had a large prize of 0.30 btc I had 3 newbies post three consecutive picks  with an hour left to pick  giving them a real edge if they were the same person.

I told them I would let their picks stand if they would pm real proof of whom they are.  They did not and the 2 month 30 good post rule was created.

So we just had a big prize 0.40 btc and we had 1 or 2 new people try to enter.  Just a few picks above one of the new people asked me a second time for this contest.  I am allowing him via time and if he makes a few more posts he has 26 I will allow him. To enter this contest.

You have been around a long time and you don't post much so I don't mind newer members like you joining but I need to vet you .  Let me look closer at your posts. before I decide.

Best regards phil

okay simple question  do you have any of your btc rings available?

if you do put one on your pinky finger     and photo it right under this:

Place hand with ring on pinky    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

That would prove you are the ring maker which would work for me.

I would wave the 30 post rule in this case.

best regards Phil

so   199,312,067,531 / 194,254,820,283  = 1.02603408883565 - 1 = .02603408883565  x 100 =  2.603408883565%    which was then rounded to 2.60%

Since  a number could be   something like 2.5999932%   bitcoinwisdom would round it up  to 2.60%.

I won't  so we can have a case  where the winner will not match the rounded number posted by bitcoinwisdom.

Yeah I like it!  The matheux (mather?  mathor?  methematicioux?) in me likes that kind of precision.  :)

I think you were looking for this.

Speaking of math lets do a real world number.

https://blockchain.info/

413447 (Main Chain)   2016-05-26 02:00:12  we are here right now

413282 (Main Chain)   2016-05-24 21:23:04  this was first one of this jump

so 166 blocks made

1 day         = 144 blocks
4 hours      =   24 blocks
40 minutes =    4  blocks

adds to   172  so 166/172-1 =  (-3.488372093023%)

while bitcoinwisdom using  part of last jump is very much higher

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficultyBitcoin Difficulty:   199,312,067,531

Estimated Next Difficulty:   209,085,948,934 (+4.90%)  way high compared to real time.

Adjust time:   After 1849 Blocks, About 12.1 days  We start at 1116 blocks

Hashrate(?):   1,523,581,927 GH/s
Block Generation Time(?):
1 block: 9.4 minutes
3 blocks: 28.2 minutes
6 blocks: 56.5 minutes
Updated:   22:5 (3.2 minutes ago)

One thing I think I have learned is asic builders simply play with difficulty numbers ramping  up  100 to 300 ph at a time

LOL thanks!  In french we slang it as matheux (instead of mathématicien) so I thought there was a urban word like that in english.  :)

Anyway, let's hope our friends at Bitmain, Bitfurry, KnC and whoever, give us a break with their new generation miners for at least a few weeks before firing everything up and giving us headaches with our not-much-lucrative-anymore-mining.

I don't want a jump over 3% guys, ok?   ;D

The calculator on the Mac mini rounds to 12 digits.

And I know that there is a tiny chance of a number like

2.5999999999999999 which  would round to 2.60. Since my claculator only goes to 12 digits .

If indeed that happens  I will pay both Picks since the odds would be more then 1 billion to one.

I would be extremely happy with a negative, I'm not sure we will see one though.  April 28 was technically a negative but not by much -0.01%.   It's been since March 4th since last decent negative -3.10%.  I hope I am wrong.

Bitwisdom is higher then real:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    199,312,067,531
Estimated Next Difficulty:    207,824,409,631 (+4.27%)
Adjust time:    After 1769 Blocks, About 11.8 days
Hashrate(?):    1,431,198,131 GH/s

Price has remained above 450 on coinbase is a good thing.  Were around 453 hopefully we can gain ground I really would love to see 460 again.

We might see a flat adjustment, but I doubt we'll see significant negative until after the halving, if even then.

http://i63.tinypic.com/2ef15bm.jpg

Looks like the burn-in test of the next gen hardware is over.  My guess is now we will see the last gen stuff coming offline and being resold to make room for the new gear, and then the difficulty will go up up up.  When will we see a 500G difficulty?  :-\

my guess is we won't see 500diff very soon

the ½ ing and the new gear will kill off everything that is older for a lot of miners.

once the ½ ing happens  a 14 th machine using   .1 watts  is

 -  at a diff of 479 at 10 cent power pulls in  461 after power
- at a diff of   583 at 8 cent power pulls in 645 after power
- at a diff of 744 at 6 cent power pulls in 879 after power
- at a diff of 1154 at 4 cent power pulls in 1171 after power
- at a diff of 1546 at 3 cent power  pulls in 1350 after power

I used 5% diff jumps  based on the above  diff will not rise at 5%  and I used today as the day you start it up.  so if btc is going to work we are going to see flat growth  not 5% jumps

If we don't see next gen before having it's going to get even tighter on profits at least for me.  But value took a good jump .. nice to see coinbase around 467 and China is awake now.  So hopefully we see it go up even more.

Don't know reason why but I wont complain.  It seems that China is driving it I think looking at timing of it.  But I have not heard of any news or great things to be the reason China is pushing it up.

Yes let's hope we can hold this price and then build on it. So Yesterday was -6.235% with 135 Blocks and this Morning off to a slow start with the Period to Date Run Rate down to -7.8%. Let's hope the Price & Hash Rate trends can continue, but getting both I guess is just a bit greedy...

The high to beat is the $504 high from Nov 2015. After that we are approaching highs from 2014's.

This is great but we know they can add 1000ph anytime they want to.  They are pumping value to do sales. Along with Diff drop.

Buying an expensive s-9  at 450 a coin looks bad ,

buying it at  650 a coin seems better.

We saw the big pump from 200 to 500 last fall

Maybe we pump from 450 to 650 this time.

My issue with this is it is clearly manipulation of Diff and price.

Well  I guess that is good. But these days 50 ph is a drop in the bucket.

Here is a real time update

https://blockchain.info/blocks

413664 (Main Chain)   2016-05-27 18:21:44 current block

413282 (Main Chain)   2016-05-24 21:23:04  this was first one of this jump

so 383 made

2 days     = 288

21 hours  = 126

20 minutes     2

so we should be at 416

383/416 -1 = (7.932692307692%)

but  we saw a 1000ph spike   so real time does not mean much if they can 2x the network anytime they want to do so.

I dont believe the 50 Peta is going out of the network. Most likely their ASICs are going to be sold, so the 50 Peta leaving the network only for some time.

What might actually happen in future is the power not effecient ASICs ends in the hands of those with free electricity where megamines even with cheap electricity and most power effecient ASICs could not compete with - but maybe this never happens.

Look like around 50 Peta is going down at the halving
This is what I've been hoping for!  At some point it will not be possible to run the megamines for the reward they receive.  Here's to several hundred more PH dropping off the network!

What miners did they mine with anyways? KNC Neptunes? Or did they have some better technology?

[conspiracy]Would it be a 38% attack if they use it that way?  I would think that if it became obvious that diff was manipulated (not saying it hasn't already been...) then the price would tank once people saw what was happening; it would be a self-defeating attack.  Or are we seeing it happen that way now?[/conspiracy]

Wow look at the price... getting very close to $500. :) assume we will see some selling if we hit it? This is what Cryptocoinsnews had to say.
Quote
The increase in price can be attributed to the growing demand from the Chinese market, with a weakening yuan. CCN resident analyst Venzen Khaosan elaborated on the BTC/CNY exchange charts in yesterday’s analysis piece, speculating that the price will eventually strike out for $500.

So Yesterday was -3.47% with 139 Blocks and again a slowish start to Today, 6 Hours in,  with the Period to Date Run Rate at -5.9%

Well if in a week it is still $500 then we might start going higher. Block halving is around the corner.

The thing I can't understand is why would anyone want to shift down with gear?  It seems they would want to get as much BTC as possible and run the gear.  Maybe if someone was selling next gen and wanted people to see smaller hash rate.  But I just don't see reason currently.

I am happy with price though I was wanting 460 at least and we got almost 500, so a heck of a value increase.   If only Ether would have got the jump to in value.

I think most if not all of the 2200 ph peak on the 23rd is just luck. There is no reason for Bitmain to show people how much additional hash they have right before they start selling S9 - it would be dumb showing they have ready 1000 ph which could almost double difficulty after they sell all their S9s. And if the peak come from someone else, there is not reason to stop mining with it.

Do you understand the math behind a jump from 1200 ph to 2200 ph?   Do you actually think that much variance is possible?

I would think to do the jump like that  the odds are higher then 365,000,000 to one.   so every 1 million years the network  might do it on luck.

So you said most was luck  that would be the 1000ph jump was 550ph luck and 450ph not luck.

We have been clocking the network for years on these threads.   We have noticed a 150 to 225 ph flux in the hash rate time and time again   way too much for it to be luck.

the s-7 is 4.7 th the new miner may be 14th  about 3 x that 4.7th   so 3x 150 to 225 = 450 to 675ph  less then the 1000ph spike.  So maybe you are correct and it is only 450 ph not 1000ph.

It is too much in the hands of one company.

I have understanding of statistic. By quickly looking I see around 300 ph flux as a normal (daily high-min) coresponding to 1 sigma, thus we are looking at about 3 sigma effect, or 0.27% (1 in about 370) if it come just by gausian variance.

If you see such 3 sigma effect which happened on 23rd much more often than about once a year, then yes, its likely not just gausian variance.

Trading overseas was what sparked this I think.. China was at 3885 CNY which was like 590 USD, at one point it was a $70 difference in price here compared to there.

1) pumped price a bit with Chinese trading
2) lowered diff a bit by keeping the s-9s off line

Why?   I have a few ideas

Price pump and keeping difficulty low might mean S9 should be start selling in few days. It would make sence for bitmaintech to have hands in both events to sell as much S9s as possible, because the sentiment was with price stagnating, difficulty going up and halving comming, S9 cannot be profitable.

S7 batch 18 is in the sell at bitmain site, from 2nd June.

First they must sell all their S7´s, they could start selling S9´s only after S7 batch 18 is sold. Obviously good Bitcoin price might bring interest even to the S7´s, so I guess bitmain is already mining with S9´s only - and all their S7´s are offline instead.

I suppose they took all s-7s off line .

Made s-7 life's with some and kept others as s-7s

But to,keep diff down they have some s-9 on line not all.

They started selling the s-7 lites which was a good deal if you had psus of better quality as you could sell the one they shipped to you.

I figured you could buy 4 s-7 lites with shipping for 1291 - 291 for there gold psus if sold on eBay.

So 10.8 th for 1000 bucks.

If you purchased 2 s-7 s they came to 1020 dollars

So you were getting 10.8 vs 9.4 th for less $$

And I would think more over clock. Since it was 8 board vs 6 boards

With a BTC price in excess of $500, some marginal mining is now back in the black for another month, barring a price collapse. I wonder if this will let Bitmain delay an S9 introduction to the public. Give them more time to complete the S7 --> S9 switch inside their farm(s).

Interesting times indeed.

they need to sell the s-7s.

so price will stay over 500 and diff will keep low.

once s-7's are sold  the shit should hit the fan.

I am not sure what they will do about selling the s-9.

Sadly we lost a little going to around 531 currently on coinbase.  So still a heck of a bump though.   One thing is Bitmain is not only company, so we might see others with next gen first.  There is a post with some new BW chips - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1487358.0

If those chips hit target.... we could be seeing some hardware added sooner I would guess.  But hard to speculate not much info on chips.

KNC is mining with 3% in the last 24 hours
https://blockchain.info/pools?timespan=24hrs

In fact, this is their standard hashrate and given classic blocks have consistently about 5% over last few weeks and KNC is major contributor to classic blocks, I dont think KNC powered off their hashing even for one day since their bankruptcy annoncement.

Anyway, when KNC turns down mining, -3% can help home miners a bit (unless bitmain compensate by turning on +3% if bitmain really play games with keeping the difficulty constant)

Will be interesting to see what the S9 does, they did to a heck of a job it seems from specs listed.  S7 Power Efficiency: 0.25 J/GH + 10% (at the wall, with APW3, 93% efficiency, 25°C ambient temp) to S9 3. Power Efficiency: 0.098 J/GH + 7%(at the wall, with APW3 93% efficiency, 25°C ambient temp)

And it will be shipping out before having with June 12.  Definitely interesting times to come.

Looks like you get about 3 weeks of hashing on the S9 before the halving.

It's an interesting gamble Bitmain is taking releasing these now.  There's no way to ROI before the halving, so you are gambling that they will be able to pay for themselves after the halving, which is uncertain.  I will not buy new from Bitmain, I refuse to support them directly, but once some 3rd party deals start happening I'm going to have to get a 16nm machine, the efficiency is just nuts.

So much network growth, for example check out HaoBTC, they were 9PH when I first deposited some coin with them:
5. Our hashrate reaches an unprecedented 70PH

Hopefully we'll stay ~flat this period, but big changes are coming for sure.

I would love for them to do a small release say for 5 or 6 days then stop sales until after the 1/2 ing.

3 weeks is not much, I preffer to wait and reconsider after halving whether I can ROI fast with the S9.

Just cause I am curious, why would you want a "limited Batch" with a two week sales suspension following?

More to the point though, why would Bitmain want that?

We likely will never know, there could be several possible options.  Likely could be they have limited amount of chips, so trying to spread amount out where 1 customer does not own them all.    You can go to more paranoid ones like they are might be using rest to fill internal mines, or filling a big order.   Or could be so no bulk discounts for first adopters.  I mean we could go on and on.  But we likely will not know real reason.

Mining is going to get interesting though, the S9 is looking like a heck of a machine looking at specs. Competition will have to try to catch up now I would guess.

Looks like Phil's wish was granted. Bitmain has currently "Greyed Out" the S9 Buy button. No more sales for the moment it would appear. S7's are still available for those that are interested.

Projected difficulty is still negative, but it's had to think it will last for for 7 more days.

Hashrate mostly under current difficulty, but there is always possibility of new hash to be added before the retarget occurs, thats why I predict around 0 or + increase

Looks like Phil's wish was granted. Bitmain has currently "Greyed Out" the S9 Buy button. No more sales for the moment it would appear. S7's are still available for those that are interested.

Look for batch 2 in a few days...

I see no reason why the S9 would be any different than any other Bitmain release. As soon as any new miner is released, the value clock on the hardware starts ticking down. They need to move as many units as they can as fast as they can. The upcoming halving and potential competition from BW (if they ever release anything to the public) could accelerate driving down the S9 price.

It's interesting how people theorize about the big player's strategies, including price/difficulty manipulation, intentional hardware delays, etc. But I think the situation is simpler than that. Hardware manufacturers need to mine early and ship quickly. Any other strategy is risky. You can't be sure that any manipulation attempt will work, and you can't know when a competitor might strike (although I acknowledge that Bitmain has no real competition now, except for maybe BW).

Of course some of this is wishful thinking on my part. I can't bring myself to pay the price Bitmain wants for the S9. But as it comes down, I'll be tempted, as well as others who are currently sitting on the fence.

Projected difficulty is still negative, but it's had to think it will last for for 7 more days.

We may get lucky this period, but when the S9s really start pumping out, it will be as bad or worse than the increases we saw just after the S7.

The power that Bitmain has over the mining market is so irritating. I really hope that some competition materializes...

Bitcoin Difficulty:    199,312,067,531
Estimated Next Difficulty:    198,367,788,490 (-0.47%)
Adjust time:    After 892 Blocks, About 6.4 days
Hashrate(?):    1,373,429,219 GH/s

Value wise coinbase is around 534, so still holding in 530's which is nice to see.  I keep hoping we see another surge in price.  It sure is fun to watch when it does happen.

I have a feeling that the difficulty is low now not to scare off any sales of S9. Once they sell a few thousand units, they will turn on the hashpower and difficulty will jump +20%

I will be extremly happy if we end up with a negative out of it.  I keep wondering if we will see a next gen bump, seems like eventually it would.  But I also wonder how SP and KNC going out will effect hashrate (or of they already have keeping it low now).

Coinbase is almost to hit 340 its 339 and some change.   So value is going up slowly which is nice to see.

So about an Hour to go, and as ever a difficult decision. I am going to gamble on no significant Hash being added and that we will be negative.

I am not quite as optimistic as RichBC, but I too am hoping for no huge burst of hash rate in the next 5 days. Assuming no major pump, it's probably just down to variance. In any case, my guess:

-0.8 = alh

It's also quite possible we will end up rolling over again. There's lot's of empty spaces in negative territory. Here's what it looks like now:

So if his pick wins I will pay it out and roll over the prize as if he did not pick.

Still seeing negatives which is nice,  hopefully we can manage a negative even if small.  I'm a tad bit of jaded and expect positives at this point, but would love to be wrong.

The great thing BTC took another jump up were seeing 572 at coinbase.  So were talking about a gain of around 30 dollars per bitcoin... which is pretty nice little jump.   If we hit 600 I think we will all be very happy.

Yes very nice to see the continued rise in the price and for us in the UK we are now approaching £400 which would be very nice. Who knows what the exact reason is, but I guess some of it is Halving related? Also good to see the continued negative Difficulty, we are Period to Date at -3.81% although as we know if someone throws the switch this could still step up a few notches.

Really having is biggest thing I can think of.  There is the S9 that I could see people wanting to buy BTC if they did not have any to buy, but I don't think it is the cause of surge we are seeing.  I always thought having would cause effect on price before it happens, as investors know it's coming and it's not like a secret.

I would love to hear other reasons if someone has one besides having and S9 release.  I don't see other big things but it's possible I missed something.

And at close bitwisdom still negative which is nice to see.  It is a small negative though but if it is close to this in the end hard to argue:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    199,312,067,531

Coinbase is hitting 580 as I type this post.  So still very positive on price surging upwards. I am surprised it's holding so well honestly but I am happy it is.

So Yesterday another negative Day with -1.39% and 142 Blocks. Period to date Run Rate, 7 Hours in Today, is at -3.84%. So this is either the calm before the Storm or we are in for a nice negative Period? Price is holding nicely, everything in the garden is rosy.....  :)

Bitmain have hacked stratum in the S9 miner.
Adding their own special command for antpool ... who knows what they do with that extra command during authentification ...

We don't allow invalid commands during authentication e.g. to stop DDoS attempts sending rubbish to the pool when they connect.
So, yep as of now the S9 wont work on CKPool.
Any pool that allows the miner to send random rubbish during connection will allow it.

You used to have a special hookup for asicminer tubes.

Been a while since I had a tube.

Will you be able to allow the s-9 in the same manner?

I have two on order and I don't want to point at antpool.
I may have to not order a third or fourth one.

Nice to keep hearing the negative numbers.  Sadly we lost a tad bit of value gained yesterday on coinbase.  It was hitting around 580 but dropped to around 567 right now.  So drop could have been much worse.  But I really would love to see a 600 something number before having.  Which I think is realistic and not to far off.

I was going to sell everything  from the array.

3 avalon6s are left.
2 s-7's
2 sp20's
 1 s-5

with the negative diff approaching prices over 560 and the s-9 having at least 2 pool restrictions  I stopped the sales of the rest of the gear.

Yes I am liking this rise a lot, in particular if you look at the closing price for the last couple of Weeks and ignore the intra Day Highs then nearly all Days are up with only tiny pullbacks.

Even with a small positive I still consider that a win by far.   With S9's being announced not seeing a huge increase... does not seem to bad.  Also take into account Bitcoin value seems to be on a steady rate up.

On coinbase we have crossed 580 with 581 and some change.  So I keep thinking 600 is possible in next few difficulty changes... which is a pretty nice jump from the 400's.

So the Hash Rate stayed up Yesterday giving us +18.06% with 170 Blocks. It's still high so far this Morning and the Period to Date Run Rate now sits at -2.76%. If it stays at the current rate until the end of the Period I think we will land around Zero.

Price looking good with another positive Day Yesterday and we have this Morning just crossed £400, which is very nice.  :)

check that out.. So it looks to me at quick glance that bitfury has a ton more hash then first thought.. I really want to see the hashing number after having.  I think there are some machines like A1's, and such that have been hanging around on very low priced electricity.  I think having we could lose some gear (which is good as far as those who have newer gear).  Guess we have to wait and see.

The BTC price right now is around 583 so a little increase from yesterday but not the surge I was hoping.

We also gained value today which is good coinbase is currently 590.  So gaining around 7 dollars or so in a day not bad.  Were inching closer and closer to the 600 number.  I am worried a little bit that there could be some sell walls keeping 600 down for a bit.  But time will tell.

Overall this is looking like it will be a good difficulty period.  On the 25th we were around 450 so that is around 40 dollars in added value in one period.  If we get that with a small negative or even small positive that is a great period in my book.

So we have had two big Days, both coincidently with +18.06% and 170 Blocks.... The rate this Morning has however pulled back a bit and it looks like we will coast to the finish line sometime either late Today or more likely early Tomorrow, probably in the -1% to -2% region?.

Another positive Day for the coin, making it 6 in a row, continuing the steady climb up.

413282 (Main Chain)   2016-05-24 21:23:04  this was first one of this jump

so in order to reach positive we have to do 40 blocks in an hour
so the winner should be from the group below

-2.0 = HagssFIN
-1.9 = Notlist3d

-1.3 = alfacro
-1.2 = philipma1957  if I win I will roll it over.

-0.9 = Last of the V8s
-0.8 = alh
-0.7 = ezeminer
-0.6 = HerbPean
-0.5 = Kexkey
-0.4 = testerman
-0.3 = Mike8   -----       last one to pick
-0.2 = topiOleg
-0.1 =tlhIlwI
0.0 = adaseb

this is the closest I have ever been with my constant pick of   -1.2.

Looks like it is gaining a little bit still in just a few hours but still negative which is great:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    199,312,067,531
Estimated Next Difficulty:    196,245,122,976 (-1.54%)
Adjust time:    After 30 Blocks, About 4.9 hours
Hashrate(?):    1,526,947,373 GH/s

Price on coinbase coming in around 579 so pretty good there to.   I hope next period is as good as this one as are rise in value and no hug hashrate bump.

Looks like the engine just started again and harder then the first time.
I have to wonder if this in intentional difficulty manipulation, or just coincidence.  It keeps happening, but seems to be even more pronounced lately.  If it is possible to control the network difficulty without a 51% style attack, then I don't think the future of Bitcoin is very bright.

I just don't see a 51 percent attack happening by anyone related to bitcoin.  It would be a huge scandal and lose who know's how much value on BTC price.  So if someone has 51 percent... they would be losing money long term to preform it.  It would hurt them long term so cant imagine big company doing it.

So if being manipulated I don't think it is for attack.   It would be other reasons which would all be speculation.

this is a case of bitmaintech prepping for the ½ ing.

they are in a funny spot as they have too much power and are not quite sure what to do with it.

I believe they can build 2000ph anytime they want to.

not only can they build it they can do it at a lower cost then people think.

the problem is they are stuck behind the firewall of China and don't want big block size.

that limits transactions.  which means btc could be a dead end. with the ½ing  or the next one.

or (my hope)  btc acts like a high way for eth coin  .   and eth coin does tons of transactions and is converted to btc.

the transaction value of btc is becoming pretty worthless  as it is not that cheap  and you can't make 1,000,000 an hour.

almost done with blocks now.

and we just ripped 5 blocks in 2 minutes

I need to see the official number   but no one hit it.

415297 (Main Chain)   2016-06-08 02:44:25  last block
413282 (Main Chain)   2016-05-24 21:23:04  this was first one of this jump

so 14 days is normal time

14 days  = 2016

 20 minute =    2

2048

2016/2048 -1 =  -1.5625%

196,061,423.940/199,312,067,531-1 =  -1.630931649683%
