STATEMENT

Alpereum plans to change the face of crypto-currency mining pools. In the world of crypto mining pools, there have been and continue to be a number of bad actors. Incidents such as exit rips and skimming have been rampant. Alpereum is ran by Bitcoin Suisse AG, a Swiss regulated and licensed financial intermediary service with a three year track record of excellence. Miners can be rest assured that they get their fair share.

Our Ether pool is state of the art, designed with ease of use and performance in mind. Our pool is managed by professional systems administrators and monitored on a 24/7 basis. Our high availability cloud based environment allows the pool to keep running even in the event of physical hardware failure, ensuring optimal uptime and minimal loss of shares. We pride ourselves in the amount of care we take, and are constantly developing and improving upon our pool’s software to ensure our miners get the best experience possible.

PAYOUT METHOD

Alpereum uses what we consider to be the most fair and honest reward system for our pools, Proportional Payout. Every time a block is found you are paid out for what you put in.

DETAILED STATISTICS

POOL INFRASTRUCTURE

High Availability Environment
Alpereum spreads it's mining pool solutions across many different physical resource nodes, in the event of hardware failure there is almost zero downtime as the pool environments will simply switch over and reside on another existing physical node. This ensures optimal uptime for miners.

Scalability
Our infrastructure allows us to easily scale our complex resources depending on the server load and hashrate, enabling us to easily manage the cost of our infrastructure. This keeps fees low and stable for miners, but ensures a high performance mining pool solution.

Performance
Alpereum only utilizes the latest generation of hardware for all of our servers. We only utilize high clock speed CPU's and SSD Storage Arrays. All of our physical resource nodes are tested prior to introduction on the live infrastructure.

Powerful Global Network
No matter what side of the globe a miner may be located in, there will always be a strong connection available between the miner and the pool. Our location in Central Europe has network pipes that accumulate to over 5+ Tbps of connectivity linking us to every corner of the world.

DDoS Protection
Alpereum utilizes powerful DDoS protection provided by multiple carriers. We understand that mining pools are under constant threat of DDoS attack and we aim to defend against this threat to ensure optimal uptime for miners.

Consistent Monitoring
Our infrastructure is constantly monitored by several different automated systems. Any hardware, network, or system failure is instantly forwarded to an on-call systems administrator and handled in a timely and professional manner.

The Human Touch
Bitcoin Suisse AG, the parent company of Alpereum directly employs professional, competent, and credentialed Systems Administrators to manage and monitor the Alpereum Infrastructure. You can be rest assured that all Alpereum pools are in good hands 24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a Week, 365 Days a Year.

POOL CONNECTION INFO

Main Stratum Host: pool.alpereum.ch
Standard Port: 3001
VARDIFF Port: 4001

Simply use your Ether wallet address followed by a period and then your worker name.

Example:

     0xfB6916095ca1df60bB79Ce92cE3Ea74c37c5d359.myethrig1

QtMiner, Eth-Proxy, Ethminer-Genoil, and Claymore Compatible.

Stratum V1 & V2 Compatible on all ports.

Variable Difficulty (VARDIFF) is still in Beta stages. VARDIFF will adjust your rig's difficulty overtime so that you are submitting shares at the most optimal rate as determined by our pool.

VARDIFF will not work with rentals or multiple rigs connected as one, it is designed for individual mining rigs.

Experienced Miner? Different ports and difficulties are listed on the bottom of our Join Page (https://www.alpereum.ch/join-pool/)

Global Stratum Hosts:

pool.alpereum.ch - Europe
asia.alpereum.ch - Asia
usa.alpereum.ch - North America

Use the location closest to your miner.

The port assignments are still the same on all global locations.

If you do use a global location, we suggest you always set pool.alpereum.ch as a failover. It is the main node and the most likely to be online at all times.

If you have any issues with the .ch domains, you can replace .ch with .net

Nice too see another pool popup and another for the testing. Will get to add to my guide and thread once done some testing and mining on.

Also does your pool pay any of the following structure?

(1) block finding reward.
(2) transaction fee (gas spent)
(3) uncle reward (4.375 ETH, 3.75 ETH, 3.125 ETH, 2.5 ETH, 1.875 ETH, 1.25 ETH)
(4) uncle inclusion incentive (0.3125 ETH, 0.15625 ETH)

Some pools do some do not so just asking to see if included etc.

Having phone support is a warm welcome that not many do or if any. And 0.2ETH payment run every 30 min also good.

No, and this includes uncles as well.

(2) transaction fee (gas spent)
Not sure if you are asking if we cover transaction fees on payout or if we payout the transaction fees (gas) associated with a block. So I will answer both.

Yes, we cover all transaction fees for our miners.

Yes, we also pay out the transaction fee (gas spent) reward that is associated with a block or uncle.

(3) uncle reward (4.375 ETH, 3.75 ETH, 3.125 ETH, 2.5 ETH, 1.875 ETH, 1.25 ETH)
Yes, we payout all uncles.

(4) uncle inclusion incentive (0.3125 ETH, 0.15625 ETH)
Yes, we do payout all uncle inclusion incentives.

Thank you for the compliments!

Bit of a wierd one this. Sent support ticket regarding it. I can send funds back if needed.

I had a payment from your system as showing as 0.03ETH or so and checked my ETH wallet set for this pool and had a payment of 0.5ETH. After checking payment history their is no history of the transaction.

Only transaction history showing on account is one early this morning for 0.20923188 Ether. http://etherscan.io/tx/0xa2ff1c104ce8bbcd3037a1d26a160697bb4d6ea38f9a62e5c7bf1c14fb498060

Unknown payment 0.5ETH http://etherscan.io/tx/0xfe2bb5deeb15c588c56592be9993ee0e5e19000791ceb8872094abbd4aeb8ac6 was this one sent by mistake or some sort of bonus pay? If not I can simply send this back not a problem.

Thank you for your feedback!

We answered your ticket earlier today when we got it. I trust you found the answer sufficient?

For the benefit of others reading this thread:

The 0.5 ETH payment was not related to the payout system of the pool. It was a reward paid to all miners who had joined the pool.

The Alpereum pool updates the balance of miners every 30 seconds, but for any ETH to be added to miners' balances, a block/uncle must have been found.
The payout routine runs every 30 minutes, but a minimum of 0.2 ETH most be in the balance for it to be paid out (to keep our gas costs within reason).

In your case, as soon as your balance reached 0.2 (segregated pr. mining address), the payout system sent you your balance (0.20923188 ETH), and reduced the balance back to zero.

The 0.5 ETH you can keep, it was paid to all operational rigs in the pool, as part of testing our reward system / to welcome everybody. We are sorry for any confusion this caused.

Sincerely

Awesome, nice looking pool. I'll give it a try. ;D

Btw, is it possible to use Genoil's miner? or it isn't compatible?

-- Nevermind. I've tried, it is compatible. :) Mining right now. Let's see how good it goes.

Evening admin. Your pool and details and review now added into my thread will see how things go but so far so good and will more than likely get added into my fav list of pools to mine ETH on. One thing I would likely ou too do tho even tho you are doing Ethereum, is maybe to add some of the lesser known Dagger cryptos to the pool. If you are planning on adding more crypto in the future then please look into adding the following as most are now on exchanges.

Expanse (EXP) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173722.0

Well small update I do not think I will be containing mining over here at alpereum. I have had a 5 day long stretch and pay is almost half of what I normally generate. Dont get me wrong pool is fine to mine on just not seeing higher or better results then when I mine elsewhere. I am on average making 5 ETH a week over the last week here I have made 2.07ETH for my hash SO not sure what to say here other than I might be back in the future if it improves.

It's due to the low hashrate on this pool. Too bad it's gonna die too soon.

Thank you for the nice feedback.
We did however see much room for improvement from our first release 10 days ago, both in the user experience, the performance - and in features. We thus recommend you clear your browser cache, and revisit https://www.alpereum.ch/

>> If you are planning on adding more crypto in the future

We will. Also Bitcoin. But first we need perfection on our first pool - the ETH pool.

>>Evening admin. Your pool and details and review now added into my thread

Thank you! Where do we find the link? Can we perhaps ask you back and review our v. 2? If you choose to do so and stay 24 or 48h to collect data, for a thorough review, we would be happy to pay you 10 ETH.
We feel that nothing is more important than accurate user feedback.

>> I have had a 5 day long stretch and pay is almost half of what I normally generate. Dont get me wrong pool is fine to mine on just not seeing higher or better results then when I mine elsewhere.

This is crucial feedback - and contrary to our own tests vs. the other major pools.
Would it be possible to ask you back as outlined above, and that you send us an email with your address, and that we run tests over 24 or 48h to see if your performance deviates from what it should be statistically?
Perhaps there could be a problem with your specific setup, and if so, we much need to detect it!
As mentioned above, we would be happy to pay you a fee for your trouble. Without user feedback, we cannot improve!

As most major pools, we publish our performance (the so-called "luck" page) for all to see, how the pool performs against the raw, cold reality of statistics: https://www.alpereum.ch/performance/

>>It's due to the low hashrate on this pool. Too bad it's gonna die too soon.

We do not plan on dying. Alpereum is run by Bitcoin Suisse AG, one of Europes largest crypto-financial brokers, and the expenses tied to development and server infrastructure, is one happily carried for the good of the ETH eco-system.
Our hash-rate is now in excess of 10 Gh/s, which is approximately 1 block/h at current difficulty. Our low uncle rate suggest very good connectivity. Our tests now show comparable results to the larger pools, and in some cases, better results.

It is for the market (the miners) to decide if they will let Alpereum grow to a notable size. But the Alpereum pool will remain all the way to proof-of-stake, and it will be both maintained and improved till such time that pools are no longer needed for efficient ETH-mining.

Link to my thread with pool in it. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1430861.0 and details of release.  Your pool indeed does exceed 10GH but I am on currently on http://eth.poolto.be they are smashing though blocks like no tomororw even with 6GH and payments are a lot more with compared to others.

With regarding testing I can do not a problem. I can switch my miners back over with leave running for next 24 to 48 hours or so not a problem. I can do the review too Not a problem here is miner details to monitor https://www.alpereum.ch/worker/?address=0x1A22932D381d9fF690c56da957d52343BB4c9322

* FEEDBACK REWARD PROGRAM - 1ST ROUND *

After a number of upgrades to both core, features and user experience. As well as a growth to > 10 Gh/s, we would like to announce a program for feedback rewards.

Miners who join our pool with at least 40 Mh/s combined for a minimum of 72 hours, and take the time to write a ticket (https://alpereum.zendesk.com/hc/en-us / support@alpereum.zendesk.com) with their feedback after the 72 hours have expired, will receive a 5 ETH bonus, in addition to payouts received by the pool in the period.

Miners with rigs of a combined > 100 Mh/s will receive a 10 ETH reward, in addition to payouts received by the pool in the period.

Top 3 valuable feedback will be awarded an additional +10 ETH.

Please notify us with a ticket, if you wish to participate in the program, and list your mining address. At the end of the 72 hours, upon having submitted your feedback, we will send you your reward directly to your mining address. You are free to redirect your miner(s) if you so desire after this period.

The Feedback Reward Program is available for the first 25 miners who sign up to participate. Miners who are already with us or have been, are also welcome to participate. Also miners who participated in previous rounds of the Feedback Reward Program *. First come, first serve. We will write here once the program is full and enough miners have been enlisted for this particular round.

* Returning / current miners should clear their browser cache before reporting feedback on the UI

Please provide both your positive and (especially) negative feedback. Logged data and/or screenshots of relevance are greatly appreciated. Feel free to include feature suggestions, but exclude the following, which are already planned into our DEV road-map in the near future:

- Different ports for different payout schedules (12h / 24h, in addition to default)
- Low difficulty ports for slow miners
- Optional notification on idle/malfunctioning miners
- Stratum V2 support
- Global pool mining rewards payout transparency

Once the feedback program ends, we will improve our pool based on the collected feedback. We will then launch a 2nd round of the Feedback Reward Program.

Join info: https://www.alpereum.ch/join-pool/

Happy mining everyone!

So after doing another 5 days almost on here after testing and helping admin seems to of improved some waht but still not happy with the overall pay. This pool has little over 11GH Payments are always like clockwork on the 0.2TH min pay and paid like clockwork. I did have 2 spikes in my mining hash but worked the extra hours to keep monitoring.

http://puu.sh/prO03.jpg

Apart from the 2 spikes down that was my doing I still feel as tho this pool has a lot more to offer in the future no doubt for mas improvements and tweaks to be made to improve this pool. I am being honest with my review as many others will lie and beat around the bush.

At the end of the day if things can be improved adjusted to maximize stability, hash rate share submitting. Am confident enough that this pool will eventually grow into a monster as it has all singes for it to be improved and worked on to get where it needs to be. You guys already got a fair amount of hash rate already but I fell as tho more can be done. What that is to be done is beyond me am not a pool operator or coder. But am guessing it is share submitting or connection to pool or other areas as my hash rate is all over the place.

That I can understand for the first few hours and settles down to difficulty adjustment and mines smooth. But over mining phase its all over the place like a yoyo. I did see a few times where my hash rate was almost bang on point for what I have mining but not continues just spikes here and their. I currently mine with about 65 to 70MH And average pool rate reports 50MH so am 15 to 20MH down somewhere. I will continue to test and report back for admin to monitor. I can come back on for a 24 hours basics etc when things been tweaked etc. at no extra for you just mining on it will do fine as wasn't even expecting bonus or extra ETH for review and mining so thank you for that :)

# Main pool
POOL_HOST = "pool.alpereum.ch"
POOL_PORT = 3001

This what I am going to be mining on next 24/72 hours is going to be on usa.alpereum.ch - North America to see if any improvements over Europ

Worker https://www.alpereum.ch/worker/?address=0x80eeb8aa66510F588FF6522d4515566C24CeF830 40+ MH to begin in few hors should have other rig running too to bring to total 65MH to 70MH

also see you now added in Stratum V2 support do you have separate ports for this or upgraded to v2 on all port? Also maybe to have as an option to select what diff a miner can work at too as I use to put between 5 and 15MH to find a good average.

We have not yet added Stratum V2 support, but it is on the table for the near future.

We have a possible solution for different difficulties for different types of hashrates. It is currently in the testing phase, we will update this thread if we decide it is something we want to implement or not after testing and tweaking.

Title: Re: [ANN][POOL] Alpereum - Professional Ether Pool [0% Fee] [FEEDBACK REWARDS]
Post by: BitcoinSuisseAG on June 14, 2016, 01:02:00 AM
@crazyearner

Thank you for your feedback! We will answer it in detail later, but right now, we do not want to take away attention from the Feedback Reward Program, which we just launched: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1492337.msg15198142#msg15198142
Your trial ends in 24h - and rest assured, we are watching your data carefully and we consider your feedback very valuable. You will receive exact feedback on your payouts in comparison with statistics.

Can we ask you to submit your feedback as well as a ticket (https://alpereum.zendesk.com/hc/en-us / support@alpereum.zendesk.com)? This helps us collect, categorize, distribute and properly handle all the feedback.

We will be the first to admit that our pool had much room from improvement from our first, initial launch - but we do now truly believe we have one which can compete with the best.

>>also see you now added in Stratum V2 support do you have separate ports for this or upgraded to v2 on all port?

The same is true for low difficulty (for slow miners) and different payout schedules (yes - some miners find our 30 min fast payout default schedule annoying and prefer fewer daily payouts), all which will be available on different ports.

@crazyearner

Definitely something strange going on with Alpereum the past 2 days. Huge intervals between blocks. There was a period where there was a 9 hour span without a block, even with a 10GH rate, and a period of 14 hours where it was not correctly reporting blocks mined. Currently it has been 5 hours since the last block at a 5.5GH rate. I'm guessing a lot of the big miners jumped ship when they saw this.

Thank you for your concern, we have fixed the issues.

Blocks were still being mined during those periods, they were just not being accounted for in the payout system. Specifically due to some last minute updates with geth due to the recent DAO attack. We fixed our systems and all blocks were accounted for properly and paid out to all miners. We apologize for the any inconvenience this may have caused you, this past week has been rocky with pool restarts and issues mainly related to the unrest in the Ethereum community as a whole. The pool is currently back online and in perfect working order.

Our larger miners are mostly back, part of this was because we had an issue in our own mining facility.

If you have any other issues, questions, comments or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.

Noticed the hash rate dropped again.

Also on one of my miners I got an unauthorized worker error and then it crapped out (missed out on 4 blocks).

Crazyearner,

We are not quite sure by what you mean when you state "hashrate problems". We have many successful miners that are pleased with our pool.

We have zero intentions of hosting an Ethereum Classic pool. We proudly support the hardfork decision.

very steal pool

Real hashrate ~ twice smaller. check it https://etherchain.org/statistics/miners (48gh) and https://www.alpereum.ch/statistics/ (106gh)

Count block of days does not correspond to the speeds indicated on the pool https://etherchain.org/account/0x6c7f03ddfdd8a37ca267c88630a4fee958591de0#blocks

20-30 blocks/day is not 100gh pool

I really want to know how it is possible. Please can you explain me. When the pool found the block, pool hashrate was under 100 gh. But a few seconds later pool hashrate increase above 100 % and block reward distributed from high hashrate. And also I  see many fault in statistic pages. They don't pair with etherchain. ith 100 gh pool couldn't find any block many hours. I know what is the meaning of this issues but if you have an explanation I want to know.

As you see  mined blocks different between etherchain and alpereum stats pages. This is only possible if you put the values to the stats page manually. All pool softwares make this stats auto and without any error. when you distribute the block rewards your pool hashrate increase above 100 % ...  many hours without block.... You are thief....
I have 864 mh hashrate. Whattomine shows 1.931706 ether a day. I mined more then 14 hours in alpereum and I got 0.683 ether. You stole too much.

Nevermind41 it's called variance and a proportional payout system. I am quite sure Alpereum is not stealing anything...

The pool hashrate goes up whenever a block is found because miners are pool hopping to try to get in on short rounds.  If the block takes too long to find, pool hash drops to ~100GH/s right now (the non-pool-hopping-miners).

There are no issues here unless you want Alp to switch to PPLNS or similar payout system.

With over 100 % pool luck I lost more then 35 % with 864 mh. If you check the screenshot that I sent in my message, you can see the mined block differences between pool statistic and etherscan. Pool hashrate increase over 100 % after block found. This is not an ordinary thing. Other people also said the same thing. I use freeware sammy ethereum pool software and I couldn't understand how mined block stats can be wrong in a prof. pool software. I never see such a problem in a freeware software. They put the mined block details manually. I am sure they also mine to a different address too because I live many connection lost and hash drops too. They are professional thief. Check the previous messages. You can see the same problems....
I am mining in different pool and its luck is less then alpereum but I got more ethereum in 9 hour.

That's what happens with a prop pool with pool hopper sigh... it's pretty simple. You get paid a smaller portion of short rounds because there are so much more hashrate, and you get paid a larger portion of longer rounds because there is less average hashrate. Long rounds also end up being naturally much longer on average, but you still earn a fair portion of your hash contribution.

Every pool misses recording found blocks sometimes - plenty of history of this for every eth pool actually - but alpereum is excellent at catching them later and they always pay out the appropriate reward.

You use the savagely shitty software by sammy? Shit man. The latency you pick up from that shitty pool code is stupid.

Anyway, doesn't sound like you've mined long enough to have meaninful stats. Nor I presume did you bother to send alp a support message about the missed block you noticed. I mean, you actually used whattomine as a reference point lol.

I would encourage you to learn a hell of a lot more about the internals of mining before you throw nonsense scam accusations around.

Before writing comment about people you must have something to show it. You just write here without any information or example. But I put many info and details in here. I said the same things like other people in this thread. If you don't have any arguments, please don't write any comment to my message.
By the way, this is the reply of my message from alpereum
Hello,

We are aware of the issue, it happened when we were working on updating a system that was faulty. The blocks will be recalculated into the payout soon. Expect an official statement soon.

If somebody saw theeir scam, their mesages are ready but they still don't do anything. As you see your messages are full with shits not other people like you.

Sigh, nevermind41... Alpereum does periodically add those missed blocks, just like every other pool.  Again... this happens with every pool you complete noob.  You're calling a pool a scam based on 14 hours of mining profitability - that's nothing short of stupidity.  I mean, you're still talking about sammy's terrible single-node "pool" solution that adds a solid 30ms+ latency to everything... nasty.

Etheremine thread (several posts from dr_pra about missed blocks being added later, also see etherpool thread):

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=472510.msg18176471#msg18176471 (several missed blocks just a few days ago)
And there are a few more examples in their ethereum forum thread about missed blocks they credited later.

etc... lots of examples from other pools too.

Right... and there are various things required before a low enough share is listed as a block.  It's far from uncommon (every ethereum pool I know of has expereinced this at some point at least), to occationally miss recording listing blocks/rewards but get them included in the network.  Other pools have definitely talked about "re-scanning" to detect those "missed blocks" too.

If you think any of this is unique to alpereum, you must be a straight up troll.  Go actually learns something about the technicals behind mining.

Response from Zach. Sounds like they are not paying out for the down time. Only 5 Blocks found in last 24 hours.

"Hello,

The pool experienced an outage last night into the morning for several hours (Zurich Time). The outage was network related in the data center hosting our main database. The issue has been fixed and we are closely monitoring the situation. We apologize for any inconvenience this may of caused.

Regards,
The Alpereum Team"

Every thread mentioning these guys is somewhat negative.

Edit:

This too
https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/pools/alpereum/#/reviews

Edit2:

Also interesting how this "data center outage" happens at the same time they implement a pool fee of .2% and remove vardiff while doing some redirecting
"We’ve removed VARDIFF altogether, and the 4000 ports that worked on VARDIFF will now redirect your miner automatically to port 3002."

supervision seems against out.
pool accept shares but I see nothing since 1h
my payout since friday 2:00GMT (Edit: I put a mixed case address, corrected later, so I add both to be exact), 58h after, is 0.071 while it should be 0.12 at 85MH/S
it was 0.056 yesterday evening at 22:00GMT after 42h instead of 0.0875... estimated 15 hours lost.
waiting for .2 payout... hope just it won't last a week instead of 2.5days.
EDIT: just seing supervision back at 0.081 after 58h (instead of 0.12), estimated 19hours lost
 >:(

I know my rig who with many watchdogs and alarms is not out for more than 15, and not without warnings. I see on worker console that my miner was out, at time it was working hard...
started friday 2:11 (GMT)
saturday
01:43-5:01 OUT with few minutes working at 02:30 and 03:30-03:42  (3:18 out)
10:18-16:13 OUT (5:55 out)
sunday
05:47-06:51 OUT (1:04 out)
13:08-13:59 OUT (0:51 out)

total out : 8h
maybe I lost also 6h when starting (it's the rule), because first block mined was 6 hours after I moved (we are paid only after a block is mined)

except saturday at 13:37-16:10 (2:27 off) there was no sign of dysfunction.
If I was paranoid I would say my shares were taken for free, but I estimate they just screwed up something. will they repair?
>:(

EDIT: 13:52 GMT, supervision is out. me too. I abandon my earnings.

I just joined forum to support @AlainC findings. Same here bro. Alpereum, you call yourself professional ehter pool, but things last two days don't show that. Every production need backup servers and even backup need backup in situation like this. Five days with you and I see why some people just quit mining when they start with wrong pool. Earnings are not great at all, just from my test from other pools i got 0,04-0,05 every day, here i have 0,03 if pool don't have issues.

Like AlainC said, maybe loosing 0.12 (my case) that i have with them is good thing, or I can say mining life lesson.

Usually I trust support, and I was very enthusiastic on this swiss  pool from hearsay (I was ther more for strategic than 1% saving... 2h outage a week is above 1%).
However my rig is stable (on nanopool it is like a clock, I have a HW watchdog, systemd watchdog, ssmtp alerts, automatic bios downgrade on incorrect shares, ) at 85MH/s (3 RX480 OC at 27.5-28.5-29.5 resp)
as produce 0.05 per day,
and since friday 4:11 CESTDST up to today 14:35 I have 0.07548217207423369 +0.00636871465015225
this is 58hours and 0.081 is for 39 hours

for example during the GMT 01:43-5:01 "invisibility of my rig" I produced 500 shares that were accepted, but I don't see it on the balance. >:(
Maybe it is an illusion, but I cannot take the risk. My rig is stable like rock on nanopool since I moved.

Maybe I'll be back when it works, to take my earnings.

I won't be back. I've read too many posts and reviews from guys who have had two identical rigs, one pointed at Alp, and one to another pool. Some do it for days, some weeks, some months. Time and time again I read that their earnings on alp were less and by a considerable margin. Clearly this pool has resisted using anything other than proportional mining, which does not reward loyal users but rather allows for pool hopping. Combine that with these blackouts, and a lack of empathy from the team to the point they couldn't even put a note up on their main page when these issues happened this weekend. I'm out sorry.

It's just not worth the risk now that ETH is worth $350.

Yep,

We can see now: "Last block: 9 hours ago" and they lost about 1000 miners in last 48h and I will add that, you are not paid before new block, they can always set that new block will come in next 24h, clean up users earnings, and close their site. Pools like ethermine update your earnings every hour, this "professional" pool just don't care to provide answer and information to end users when something is wrong with their network/system.

Hope to see more people writing here, to assure that other people just leave from that site.

It is happening again with the stats. Once I hit 0.2 I'm out. This pool sucks.

I have like .18 ETH pending...  If I switch pools, will that ever be paid?

Hi kodiak1120,

Their support maybe will answer to you with "ok", we will pay, (good luck with that, didn't answer to my ticket). Best is if you can wait for 0.02 and then move to other stable pools.

Thanks... I just hate to waste the hashing power if I never get paid.   I guess I don't have much choice.

Right now

This is moving from pro to dead pool.

EDIT: 500 miners left today.

Jumped ship to Nanopool.

Took almost a week to get .1 on Alp. Already received first payout on Nanopool in less than 24 hours.

Glad this outage occurred and opened my eyes or else I'd still be with Alp.

gave then a chance yesterday.
got 0.05 on nanopool the day before.
run at 85MH/s for 12 hours.
0.007 added to balance
no block mined for 8 hours, but many before.
pool down (in fact he says my ris was down, but they were down) according to "worker count" from GMT 20:30 to 21:59, moved automatically to nanopool. but only from 21:30-21-50

Hard to imagine the technical problem explaining the gap in profitability.

EDIT: I found the trick.
15 minute before the last bloc was mined GMT 20:45 those B DECLARED ME officially offline, so I was not there for the block.
the problem is that I only moved to nanoppol after 1 hours at 21:20-30 GMT

anyway since I have seen nothing down until 21:20-30,
it is not to exclude the "off" period was not accidental but retroactive.
Is there a swiss citizen to call for inquiry?

I switched back to Alpereum to try to get from 0.18 to 0.2 for a payout, but now the pool is down again.  I doubt I'll ever see that 0.18 they owe me.  I'm done with this pool.  It was fine up until a few months ago, but now it sucks.

They say they will move to 0.05 payment...
reducing the risk.

Maybe they are honest but they just screwed up, and try to repair. But they cannot invent money they did not earn.
I wish them good luck if they are sincere, but gaining confidence back will be hard.

I'm confused.  When will they payout?  I still have 0.19 and I haven't been paid.  The message talks about a new port (3002)...  do I need to switch to that port and mine some?  I've already switched to Nanopool, so I'd rather not switch back.

Title: [ANN][POOL] Alpereum - Ether Pool [0.2% FEE] [no VARDIFF][0.05 payout]
Post by: AlainC on June 13, 2017, 04:49:08 PM
3002 is the standard port since they closed Vardiff
Quote
In the past few days there has been several periods of downtime on the stratum servers, not just the website. This has been due yet again to a private networking issue in relation to our main stack of servers in Europe that host very crucial items like the main database which all locations communicate with. We are currently working with a network engineer from the data center and several others to ensure there is a permanent resolution to the problem. We’ve been assured that any switch out of faulty networking equipment will be done in such a away that it will not interrupt the server stack. We understand this is bad timing, and we thank you for your patience.
Due to the increased network difficulty and user request, we’ve lowered the minimum payout to 0.05 ETH on Port 3002. Your previous balance will be rolled into the new minimum, there is nothing you need to do or change on your end.
...

The pool fee has officially been increased from 0% to 0.2%. This will allow us to maintain our server infrastructure to keep up with the demand. The recent growth is exciting, and we are planning ahead to make sure that our miners have the smoothest overall mining experience possible.

For the past 10 months Alpereum has been proud to offer our Variable Difficulty (VARDIFF) ports to public miners. On other Ether pools, VARDIFF is not do-able because it is easily exploitable. Alpereum staff created custom monitoring software that would auto ban any worker attempting to submit a share on a higher difficulty than intended. Making the exploit almost impossible. However, the amount of share data we must keep in our databases is growing exponentially with the demand and it is not maintainable any longer. We’ve removed VARDIFF altogether, and the 4000 ports that worked on VARDIFF will now redirect your miner automatically to port 3002.

I'm furious of my loses, unfair after so hard work and busy night on my rig, but I can imagine that what it their feeling if their network crashed as they say, after their hard work and busy days on their infrastructure.

Hi AlainC,

Don't be crazy man, they will say again and again what we want to hear or "This is not our fault", really?! My grandmother got servers and she is sysadmin, she got sick and she lost bit-coins wallet with 70 000 000$ on it, this is kind of story they try to sell. First of all they make you look and feel like ass, because you will write to their support, they will not answer directly on your question, and in the end you will get answer, "stay if you want or take you GPU's and move it, we don't care". That is not what people "sign in" when they look for good pool.

Just small part of their bull s*** (mods, sorry for my words here)

"However, over a period of a week or two the payout should even out, thus your balance would be the same as any other pool. These luck swings are part of the reason why centralization is such a huge problem in mining."

What the hell you are talking about, other pools with 3000 miners (like was yours) don't have any of your issues and less fees and lower payouts. Because of that they are part of pool centralization, and not Alpereum.

From answer(s) I got, i don't trust them any word, and anymore. It's the end and I will say that loud here and all over mining most popular places, don't ever work with them if you want to get invested money on your hardware and kWh.

Only this morning i was on 1300 shares, server goes down, all up again, i didn't have time to check how many shares I mined, and all goes down again, seriously.

When is too much, it's too much.

EDIT:

Before i posted my message i got 2nd one from them, I asked to get my coins, and to add coins for period I lost on their pool:

"You are confusing Alpereum with a PPS (Pay-Per-Share) mining pool. Alpereum is a proportional payout model pool, shares are not paid in advance. A block must be found during the round in order for your balance to be credited. "

Again, really?: You are lost in this world dear Alpereum.

For you man from their support

"Of course, the minimum payout is currently set at 0.05 so your account does meet the minimum requirements. We've actually reduced the payout interval to 15 minutes temporarily so that all of the backlogged transactions get pushed through in a timely manner. We like to process 20 transactions per interval, that way we can ensure that all transactions properly broadcast onto the blockchain."

This can take time from what we know about them.

Good luck.

Hi opusdigitus,

I can say only that you are lucky, 4h and 0 payouts here. And nothing good to be seen here, Hashrate: 69.26 GH from 170 this morning. When they are payed, people just move. From moment they said we pay from 0.05, 150 miners, some big, moved away. That is good, hope they are going to learn something from this and start new pool. Wish them all the best, but this was not well made project. Not in long term.

EDIT: 12h and not paid. And all goes down, when people are paid, they just move. From 3000 miners and good pool to dead pool:

Hashrate: 59.00 GH
Miners: 980

I got paid.
Goodbye, good luck to rebuild trust if they are honest.
If they are not honest, it is very very risky in Switzerland. Probably they just screwed up, lost much money, clients, and image...
I hope for them they will move to pay per share with a standard fee, so they can pay for their unavoidable downtime..

Hi,

I got paid and moving to ethermine. After only 20h '0.04027 ETH' and one week with alpereum 0.16 eth, guess that say all about them and that you can earn almost x2 with other pools. The end!

I used nicehash to join this pool.
At my worker statistic page, https://www.alpereum.ch/worker/?address=0x5f66f2c93563288cd09f0151f1797838e8687b8f
It said, they have paid 0.14 Ether to my wallet.
When I checked on my wallet, the fund is not there.

So, to double check the transaction, I clicked on payout transaction, https://www.etherscan.io/tx/0xda9f2ff2733da703dc10ccbeadf888c6106ab1ee07e8608acb883ad3ed53c470
It said, Unable to locate Transaction entry

Am I have been cheated?
Or is it some kind of delay?

Alpereum utilizes a proportional payout model, your balance is not credited until a block is found.

Account credited, respect for that.
