Just wondering, would would be the safest way to sell your bitcoins? Is there any platform considered universally "safe" to convert BTC in USD through Paypal, or direct deposit or something? Thank you!

Safest way is in the smaller increments of .1btc when the btc value is high enough. Localbitcoins ad and looking into their profile of verifications and trusts.

All doing for cash in person in small amounts half of full bitcoin. Only because you can be a target to someone whos trying to cash out even 5 btc is too much in my view.

I have sold through coinbase with no problem. The catch is that you have to give them a lot of information to open an account so it isn't anonymous of course. Another way is localbitcoins like others have said.

Localbitcoins or any of the famous exchanges would be the safest for selling your coins. Check out Bitstamp, and Bitfinex. Localbitcoin might give you a lot of different options to cash out.

Check out with the local exchange in which your country operates along with localbitcoin.

That's how I do it, but I'm not looking to remain anonymous.   If that were the case, I'd do deals on this forum or in person.   Coinbase used to be good, just like circle.

i think very safe way is to sell these bitcoins to your friend or anyone else  in real life, or you can also try to sell them via bank as buyer won't be able to get money back

alot depends on the amount. if it's a big stack then you're best off going through a reputable otc broker like genesis global trading. even if you're verified exchanges might get funny with you if it's alot of money.

for smaller amounts then i'd go for somewhere like circle. i'm not gonna dick around with private buyers.

Secondly, try bitfinex, they are too good to process withdrawals at times.

You can also try XAPO card, but they have some charges for each withdrawal and some additional charges if you withdraw in a different currency than the original card currency. You can check their website for complete fee details, but the card works quite well so for me and their support also usually reply all my queries within one or two days. For me the sfaest way to sell my bitcoins are those exchanges which sometimes have higher value of bitcoin , like Yobit and Cex.io , but there is a little problem with yobit, like you will sometime wait for days to get your fiat withdrawal, so nowadays I decided to go to Cex.io .

the best way its you can find your friend near you which have bitcoin and fiat, and sell to them. because beside its your friends, you know who is he/she, where he/she live, and what they doing. so i think its a safest way to sell and buy bitcoin to you. this is what i am doing when i want to sell my bitcoin into fiat. i call my friends, tell him i want to sell bitcoin, i send my bitcoin, and my friend send fiat into my bank account and its done in 10 minutes.

I am not sure if you still need any more advice, but newcomers at this thread could so I am sharing my opinion. I consider Localbitcoins a good place to start from since they have a proper trust system to choose someone to deal with. Then you can choose from escrow and P2P exchanges. When writing P2P exchange, I mean the method what in you physically meet with the person whom you are about to deal with and exchange at place. Selling bitcoin to USD via paypal is high risk because as we know paypal is reversible service and the buyer can make charge back to you, except you sell bitcoin to people who can be trusted and there are positive feed back on this forum.

Personally I like to use Kraken to sell bitcoins to euro and get them transferred to my bank account.

Never had problems with them, they are quite fast and they have low transaction fees. Their track record is also very good, except for the recent problems where people didn't set 2fa on their login and their software then allowing to change the 2fa without entering the 2fa in question.

This is not hte savest way to sell your bitcoins there are allot of ways to sell them There wil always be peopel who want to buy your coins but dont trust that they want to give you the full amount cash but it is untrusted you know better sell it to a company you get less but many times safer.

Selling bitcoin for paypal is not easy and almost most of the exchangers/trading platform don't support paypal as paypal have stated they will not accept bitcoin buy/sell related transactions. And also if you find any such exchange service may be you will lost as most of similar service has been found as scam service and also you have to be extremely carefull when dealing with reversible payment processors in localbitcoins like platform. Better do face to face deal for local cash.

I've sold on coinbase in the past and haven't had any problems. I have heard that some people have had issues with coinbase so some more checking before using them.

Coinbase doesn't accept most of countries (Indonesia , India , etc) , and that's why for these countries who can't sell their bitcoins on Coinbase.
But there are alternative way to exchange your bitcoin like sell it in this forum (if you want to exchange it into another e-currency PM , Neteller , Skrill ). Or go to the Bittrex , and other exchanges which offers exchange to flat and you can do it on the short-time.

coinbase is not safe at all because they are centralized it makes them 10 times less safer than using bitcoin directly yourself.

that is why i always say don't use coinbase.
they can easily block your funds and say we found something illegal in your activity so we take your money.

Poloniex did a great job converting some users to their website to invest. But still there would be flaws that might create an instant end to this website. Better make an offline wallet for your own safety.

there is many exchange for buy and sell your bitcoin and i think all exchange are trusted bitcoin i mostly use localbitcoins and in localbitcoins  you can buy or sell your bitcoin with easily and i hope you will be never face to any problem in localbitcoins.

In my opinion the safest is just to accept a bank deposit or transference in localbitcoins from a trusted buyer and then deliver the bitcoins, stay away from PayPal if they realize you are making bitcoin transactions they are going to limit your account.

the safest way its i selling my bitcoin with my friends which accepted for selling and buying bitcoin as his jobs and he directly transfer the real money into my bank account and its no need to wait too long. for one transactions is only need time in about 10 minutes to complete but if the traffic is busy then it would need more time. and i am not prefer to use third party to send the real money, because the fee is too much expensive for me.

Coinbase sometimes does a lot of research like some days ago I heard they blocked a user's account because of they found it suspicious and thought he was gambling, which coinbase I think does not allow. So, if you take bank cash from such sites then be aware of such things, you might face legal issues too.

You are right, you will be safe selling in locabitcoin as long as you will exercise proper caution in your transaction. Just do buy one time with big amount as you can do it with small amount with several transaction, my suggestion is for you to minimize the risk.

Use legit exhange website those trading site's and you can also use localbitcoins to sell your bitcoins but if you are in the philippines or country that has bitcoin based wallet then you can sell there and direct into bank account to become safe of your money you can also exchange that into fiat.

Yeah there are people who give cash for bitcoins on localbitcoins. Actually taking cash is the safest way if you are not worried to show your face and identity to strangers because with bank there can be issues and charge-backs but cash is cash, once taken its all yours.

In my assessment the safest way to sell our bitcoin is Poloniex exchange platform. Why? Because, ever since I joined in bitcoin world I never hear any negative issues and controversies in different people about this exchange. So why not try here in poloniex.com

Other countries have their own local exchange site. You don't have to worry about that. I'm also using coins.ph and their withdrawals are pretty fast and reliable. They don't have fees when you're going to sell your coins and transfer them to your bank account. I did moved some of my coins into blockchain because for some reasons I think that coins.ph will eventually be hacked or atleast be targeted by hackers. It's been there for a while but we can't say for sure that they will not be hacked especially now that they hold a lot of coins in their website.

What I do is take a middleman site like paypal and then I sell my bitcoins to trusted buyers here (well, many are here who gives PP and are enormously trusted ) then I withdraw from paypal to my local bank.

yes that is a fact that there are a lot of exchanges and most of them are reliable and trusted, it only depend on you  that which one you consider most reliable for your self, i also use local bitcoin exchange for buying and selling bitcoins.

If that is the problem then why just sell your bitcoin in a certain exchange site in your area. I do not see in localbitcoins but in our local exchange it's easy to sell bitcoin. Of course you have to pay the fee but that is just a minimal fee and I can just let go of it as long as it's safe.
