Post by: Woshib on June 14, 2016, 10:59:19 PM
I heard that this summer there will be a Halving, where the price of Bitcoin will either go up or down.
In your opinion, the Bitcoin will increase or decrease? how much?
The Halving is a good thing or not?

I think the price will be low again because many shareholders are gonna sell their coin because right now they are just waiting for the price to get like $900-1k per piece. So if you are one of those shareholders that planning to sell your bitcoin don't expect to much price hike like bitcoin gonna reach to $4k lol. I think $900 price per piece is worth it to sell our coins.

well, after halving im predict if bitcoin price will at around $850 -$900, because alot people already bought/hold their btc now, they predict if btc price would be going higher after halving.

I don't think we'll see prices that low again. Depending on how high we actually reach, I believe we'll settle at a new floor somewhere around there. We're probably still going to drop a bit though, it seems like a lot of people are waiting for the peak to sell off a portion of their Bitcoins.

83x-93x new bottom, peak i dunno maybe around 1k but a bit less than 1k, due to the fact that 1k is a mental barrier like it was for 500

I think 1000$ will be the highest point..Hopefully price will not decrease much after the halving event and this could be one of the greatest year for we bitcoiners.

Just face it, you missed the last chance to ever buy bitcoins for 200-400 again. Ever. Saying it will drop back to 400 is the same as saying it will drop back to 200 after stabilizing at 440. It was just not going to happen.

I do think we will see a retrace closer to 600 before shooting up again though. This rocket has gone a bit too fast in my opinion.

i believed it will stay between 550-600$ as the popularity already been exposed and many investors are now trading also with btc
price won't go back to 400, it won't hit that again for me because alt also helping on the other hand the more alt the more trading will do
and the more establish it will be.

If most people still holding and not sell it, it could be decrease. Because everyone want bitcoin price is increase, but if in the halving day people dump their bitcoin together because it's not like as they are expectation.

The halving is good for bitcoin and any other crytpo currency to manage coin supply.

The euphoria of the halving will see the Bitcoin price go up surpassing the $1000 level and probably will reach as high as $1500 before a correction comes in due to people selling part of their stash to earn some bucks. Things that go up need to come down at some point in the future and this will happen to Bitcoin as well but as for the new minimum threshold I think it will be around $600. That is around 50% more than the last one and at best you could see a new low of $800 but I wouldn't hold my breath for that.

A new all time high for Bitcoin would really be something. $1500 is very optimistic.

My prediction is that the price of Bitcoin will keep increasing until right before the halving and then drop pretty rapidly afterwards and settling around $500. Would love to see BTC go over $1k again though.

It's not easy to say but if i have to make a prediction i would say that the price of bitcoin will reach about 800-1000 dollars and after a while it will fall a little lower and stay stable, some people are talking about insane prices like 4000 dollars or more but i don't believe this will happen.

Yes that's right, the price of the bitcoin will increase up to $1000 and because of the majority of the users will sell their coins if the price of the bitcoin will reach to that so it will result for price dump. We need to be smart in choosing what is the right time to sell our coins, don't expect to much :).

All going well i expect to see us stabalise around the 500-600 dollar mark, More would obviously be better but i think these numbers are at least realistic , Im sure that as soon as we start losing a bit of price people wil start panicking.

i think that it wont affect the bitcoin price if the bitcoin is halving because i know that it only affects miners and i dont mine it is something with the blocks are difficult to search for one now.

so far bitcoin has shown a lot of promise, it has gone up so fast and before the expected timeline and more importantly is that this price has stuck around so far ($670).

so despite the fact that it went up so fast to this point but it stayed high with a little back track as possible. so I would expect the same behavior and even bigger rise after the halving because the actual event has happened and the effect of halving which is decreased supply creation rate will be added to the effects causing the rise.

I think the halving can really go both ways, because there might be a huge pump or a huge dump. The huge pump being that the blocks will halve and therefore miners will hang onto their coins instead of selling it, and the dump because of a potential bubble.

So go for whatever you believe in.

Yeah and we cannot be sure what will be the exact scenario after the halving, it would be really bad to see if price drops down, as everyone is expecting higher and stable price after halving.

After July, price will slowly drop to 300. Don't worry though, by end of the year, probably late November/early December, we will see higher highs and maybe a new ATH.

lol this is half assed, i think ti will not go below 500-600 again, it will increase even more and then return to this bottom 600 or 700, imho this is already the new bottom

halving being good or bad is a totally different argument that is related to the inflation rate and to put it simply the fact that there shouldn't be unlimited coins being created.

but the price is something else. the supply and demand aside, the hype of the halving and also the fact that there are many investors buying bitcoin and a lot of whales who have been accumulating it will bring bitcoin up to $1000 at the very least.

The ha,ving does not anything to the price of the bitcoin maybe it will only slow the price increase because people think he would drop so they all hold their coins.

These are pretty much my same thoughts. After halving, BTC price will play at around 700 to 900 and will be stable just like that.

Yes halving will happen 10th or 11th July. Bitcoin price will be up or down, it's all depends on market demand. I guess price will go closer to $1000 its my opinion don't take it for your trading. Halving is block reward gets cut in half after a certain amount of the total supply has been mined. That means a block reward is 25 BTC and you will get 12.5 BTC at halving time.

I see a small dump happening as a test.

I pretty much assume it`ll go in this order though: prehalving price>halving price sell off small dump > selling more while price holds > creates a panic of the sell off > goes back to the price before the halving.. this from old eyes.

you can tell me if you see it any differently.

itll down but maybe to 560 area,

reason is after people panic buying btc, they will sell it slowly,
and like LTC after halving is down so much, reason is people sell all their ltc after panic buying

no, i doubt that the price will fall that much, most probably it will go down to something like 630 dollars or so and nothing else will happen, after some time we will see an increase again

i hope that halving will push bitcoin price to the new heights or that after the halving by the end of this year we will see a huge increase that will allow us to earn some decent money

I thought the main reason for the ltc pump was some chinese ponzi scheme.

As for bitcoin I think it's gonna settle down in the 5-600s. The hype'll be over and nothing much has changed otherwise. I don't think 1800 less coins a day is gonna have much effect, or if it does it'll take a while to become clear.

I think there are no reliable bases to foresee with complete accuracy the bitcoin price behavior after halving. There are lots of speculation about this issue, and most of them erroneously based on previous halving events, and I think it is an erroneous reference because current bitcoin conditions are very different from those days.

Well in my opinion bitcoin's price will dump after halving back to 550$ but not lower than that and it will steadily rise again. The other thing that might happen is that after dump it's value will be 600$ not 550$.
