Maybe the title should say "not yet open" rather than "closed" prior to block 1116. It might be a little more descriptive. Obviously "open" when we pass 1116 remaining and then "closed" when we are down to 716 remaining. Just a thought. To me that all adds up to another noticeable jump in hashrate and hence difficulty. In my opinion, the only thing that would limit the increase is a substantial "collapse" of BTC price, say $400 or less. It has definitely taken a tumble which are not quite as fun to watch. In a single day we have went from high 660' to a low of 551. So a huge drop and a lot of people sold making it continue to drop. I don't think we're going to see diff drop off a cliff like we speculated may happen. I'm gonna hold off on guessing a bit, see where we're headed. Yesterday was +2.08% with 147 Blocks and the Run Rate is at -1%. Relatively uncharted Territory with the Halving so close, so I suspect that a wide range of results are still possible. :)

And predicting longterm difficulty is not easy, so you might end up mining the BTC you paid much longer, but obviously you can sell the S9 as well for Bitcoin (but if the price goes up it might be not much BTC anymore). Its risky, but its fun and you can turn Bitcoin profit. The fridge was a pulled out and does fit better. My wife and I are retired we both like to cook. She always wanted a hi-end kitchen. So since she has been really good about my world of BTC since I kind of always wanted a really nice kitchen. Since we are over 55 yrs old we said f-it we will spurge. Phil, you remember the spike at 2200 PH/s (+1000 PH/s in one day) on May 23rd? Well, that was probably only one manufacturer (Bitmain?) testing their new gear. Now when they (Bitmain, Bitfury, BW, even maybe KNC despite the bankrupt, who knows?) are going to go online after the halving, minus all the small ones unplugging their gear... But we fought through the 690's which was fun to watch. In 24 hours going from high 670's to around 700 now is a good day. If we can break through 700 a little way's will be a even better day. When I read the halving threads I believe many just sell weeks after halving, and I dont expect higher price, probably even slightly lower price if people really going to sell after figuring out halving did not initiated the bubble to much higher Bitcoin prices.
